Our stay was awful. As soon as we walked in we noticed the filthy circle carpet, lifted it up and saw a ring of dirt on the floor. The front desk came in and vacuumed (not cleaned). The picture shows the floor after we asked for it to be cleaned - my wife wiped the floor. Once the front desk attendant left. We had to ask for our room to be cleaned the next day. When we returned to our room, the door was left open so anyone could've walked in and taken our belongings. Of the four bathroom towels we received, one had large dirt stains all over it. Late Saturday night in the grass area outside everyone's rooms, there was a party going on with people running back and forth along the hallways keeping our 1 year old up and our dog barking at the people coming by our door. When we called security they arrived about an hour later and we heard the next morning the security officer said it wasn't loud when he arrived, so he did nothing. It cemented the fact that we should get a travel trailer. Do not spend your hard-earned money here.

We were forgotten about and ended up with late check in, even though we were there at 2 30. Our tvs didn't work, and we were sent a technician to help that was unable to get any of them in the cottage to work. Compared to the photos, everything in the cottage was just dirty and worn down. Staff was very friendly though.

We stayed for a family trip. Room was exactly as pictured. They are doing some remodeling so parking is limiting. Due to train containers in parking lot. Bathroom is small and no where to hang wet swimsuits. Upon checking in I was early by a few hours and was told they will text when room is ready. However, never received a text. Next morning I went to take a shower but no hot water. I contacted the front desk by text. Due to no direct line to front desk. After a few minutes, I was told maintenance will be working on it. Approximately 30 minutes later I received another text that hit will be back on in 15 minutes. By this time I took a cold shower. I’m not a happy camper.

Booked this for my relatives. Location is undergoing remodeling so large storage containers in parking lot. Rooms and bathrooms were nice. Waaaay overpriced. Nice view of ocean from parking lot and upper deck. Would not stay at again at these prices. Called and told the front desk we would arrive between 10-11 pm. They didn't tell me I'd have to check in at property next door. Had to run over there so my relatives who were exhausted wouldn't be freezing while getting their room keys. I wish they would have told us. Office staff nice and helpful. Sorry but not worth over $850 for 2 nights

Loved the cottage. I wish that it would have been in better condition and clean. Kitchen floor, furniture and carpet were very dirty. I made sure to keep my shoes on. The service and location were great. The place needs a good cleaning and remodel.

When we got to our room, it was about 10 pm. We wanted to quickly shower and go to bed (2 adults and a 2 year old). Well the shower had only freezing cold water. I called the after hours number and all they could do was apologize and say the maintenance gets in at 8am. The entire time the smoke alarm battery was dead and beeping The fridge was leaking water internally so when I opened it is released about a gallon of freezing water all over my shoes. When I raised these issues to the front desk I got no apology, just “well you booked with Expedia so there’s nothing we can do” The property has been updated beautifully but it’s just a cover up. Some of the staff is so kind. I really hope the manager I speak to can settle the issues.

If you want a full ocean view cottage with a full kitchen and beautiful bathroom and comfortable bed, stay at THE TIDES!!!! This most definitely be our place to stay when visiting Pismo!!

I stayed for just one night passing through. Staff was super friendly and helpful. The room I was assigned initially had some issues as it was an older cottage that hadn't been upgraded and I had concerns about lack of privacy. I asked for another room and was able to change to one of the recently remodeled rooms. The room was beautiful and clean. Bed very comfortable. However, the shower has weird corner sliding doors that didn't close all the way so water got all over the floor. Also, the HVAC unit on the wall is super loud (typical for hotels) but it also smelled really gross and musty. So I ended up not using it at all. With the nice remodeling this could be a cute place to stay for an extended beach vacay. But they would need to upgrade their HVAC!!!

Great stay, whole family enjoyed it. We got in town a lot earlier than expected, and was able to check in! Only things I would have liked is access to the beach from the property and breakfast in the morning.

I got super special service from the staff, especially Juan. The location right at the ocean very close to Pismo Pier is extraordinary. You can walk down stairs to the beach through the adjoining motel (Sea Crest), under the same ownership.

I like the cottages because they were different than the ordinary hotel room. Full kitchen is a plus. Parking a little difficult because they are remodeling some other rooms for the better.Wish they had a pool and jacuzzi. Overall loved my stay👍

We normally stay in SLO but decided to try something new and this little place was great! Its an older hotel that is getting some new life (they were doing some renovations while we were there - to other units). The views are really nice and we didn't have a balcony or patio...but enjoyed the little spots to sit and enjoy the view on the path and bigger patio area. Staff was very helpful (our key cards stopped working) and friendly!

Our stay was great. The place is awesome and very nice with beautiful ocean views. The only bad thing is that we stayed in a room next to the vending machines. Too much noise of kids running around and the people upstairs were very loud stomping late at night.

The place was under construction and there was construction debris everywhere and when we went out for breakfast Saturday morning we came back, and a semi-truck had blocked all the parking including the spaces where people were parked.

Too much renovation going on. There was no mention or notice stating that renovation was taking place. The room had some upgrade but not worth the money. The ocean view was exaggerated cause it was nothing special. One of towel rack was detached on one side in the bathroom. Room keys weren't working probably, so maintenance man had to let us in. There was no one in the lobby for check out, one of the repair man said the lobby person would be in 15 minutes. The individual had to leave the property and guest just left keys on desk in the lobby. Overall it was just below average and will not be returning in the future.

The room we received did not even come close to the marketing photo online. It was not an "Ocean View Room" which is what we booked. It was a "cottage" away from the main building that old and in need to updating. The windows whistled all night and the door thumped due to the wind. Upon arrival we complained about the room and were told since it was booked via Expedia there was nothing they could do ...

It’s a construction zone . The lobby says it’s open from 7 am and no one is in the office till 8 or later. My key to my room stopped working and there is no one to help me so I can get my stuff out. I called the number from website and whatever is listed to call and they have no option to reset the key. Waste of money this service.

Wish we had known of the major remodeling in progress. The rooms will be a great improvement once complete. The views were great. Pet friendly! Highway traffic noise was excessively loud. Not overly impressed. Maybe will try again when remodel is done. Staff told me it was my fault for not knowing of remodel because we booked thru Expedia. What???
