Having stayed at sister brand Onyado, I find that Dormy has a cheaper feel to just about everything. It feels like it is intended more for the business traveller, the quick in & out trip. Room was the smallest of the hotels I stayed in this recent Japan trip. They give free bottles of water whilst we were guests but the moment we checked out and asked for a bottle each for me and my wife for the airport bus journey, they turned us down saying it was only for guests. I literally just checked out. Left speechless.

Location is centralised in the city and accessible to vatious tourist spots by walking and subway. Public bath is good for relaxing. Free laundry washing best.

Like other hotels of the same chain, this hotel offers free onsen access, free ramen (2130 to 2300), free ice cream.
The breakfast is excellent, a mix of Japanese and non-Japanese items.
The staff is amazingly helpful and courteous.
The hotel is between Fushimi and Sakae stations, walking distance to Osu Kan-non temple and shopping district and Sakae / Mirai Tower shopping district.

Close to Sakae, very convenient for shopping. Breakfast has variety of choice, delicious and is very good. A bit disappointed was that I booked the Twin Room at 6 months ago and requested higher floor, but the room assigned to me was at 3rd floor which is the lowest floor with the full view of the wall of adjacent building.

My partner and I stayed in a dormy inn hotel in kyoto and was nothing like this location. This location had stained walls in the room and on the carpet. Very old amenities (air purifier was not working). Onsen was clean and i liked the manga room which you can bring the books in the rooms to read. Didnt go to the buffet so cant comment on that. Otherwise, an overall average stay.

Staff are helpful. Japanese breakfast is nice to have after having an Onsen and food is nice. The room is clean and spacious.

Nice onsen! Free drinks and ice.
I love dormy inn

Onsen was great. Free yakult in morning ice-cream in evening ramen at night all add up to the great stay at the onsen hotel. Directly across from Fushimi subway station made connectivity in Nagoya a breeze. Walking distance to Sakae for lux shopping and wide variety of food options. Happy to stay there again.

Rich breakfast & tidy room

I booked a 3 beds room to stay 2 nights, the bathtub is small & hand washing basin is outside bathroom so not too convenient. Room is very clean & beds are comfortable enough.
Hotel has no shuttle bus to Nagoya Station it was not true mentioned on previous guests' comments.
Overall it's a very good hotel.

Service, tidiness were as expected as this brand hotel, free ramen, popsicles, drink, etc. The breakfast was very good, wide-range of foods with the most famous local foods. Only one bad point, the room was quite small.

I was thoroughly impressed by the size of the room, the quality of the modern facilities, and the caring service of the staff. The only area of improvement is that 2 lifts to service rush hour is simply not sufficient. Also, having the laundry facilities located inside the public baths is also a little inconvenient unlike putting them in a separate room.

Loved the facilities and extras at this hotel! The room size was big enough for the two of us with twin beds and they provided Yukatas and slippers which you can use down to the onsen and restaurant for the free delicious ramen each night after 9.30pm. There is also free ice cream too at night which is so good after the onsen and unlimited drinks throughout the day (soft drinks, tea, coffee). There's also free Yakult too in the morning. And a library full of comics (but in Japanese) if you're a comic/manga fan.
In addition, there is free laundry inside the onsen, dryer is extra at 100yen for 20mins. The onsen has both indoor and outdoor and it's the best thing to soak your body and legs after all that walking around Nagoya and F1 (we were there for the Japanese F1).
Location wise, it is only one stop away from Nagoya station and the next thing is that Fushimi station has an underground walkway full of little bars and cafes that you walk pass each day to the hotel which is directly opposite the exit. It is also one stop away from Sakae and walking distance to the Nagoya City Science Museum too.
The hotel also practices environment sustainability too with room cleaning.
Note that the staff doesn't speak much English, I tried to book the Yamato/Ta-Q-Bin service to transport my luggages to Tokyo which they offer (they had the Yamato flag on their counter), but the lady receptionist said they didn't and sent me to the shop instead and it was finally sorted after 2 days.

The staff are quite helpful and courteous overall. The neighbouring areas are quiet. The location is not that convenient as it’s quite far from the subway station.

Conveniently located between Fushimi and Sakae stations. Incredible range of amenities including a hot spring, relaxation room with free soft drinks, ice pops, late-night noodles and even free canned beverages (including beer) at reception. Excellent value for money.

Compared to other Dormy Inn’s, I couldnt see why it was “premium”... So, I was somewhat disappointed.

Pro: Prime location! Food and amenities were wonderful. Price was reasonable.
Con: stand-up shower, so they encourage the use of the bathhouse. Very limited TV channels.
Summary: Great location and amenities, but if you like to soak in your own bath, then you will want to either pay a higher price or go somewhere else.
