Booked in late at night. Room was very small to stay for a week. There was a very pungent smell coming from the bathroom. Due to time of night we stayed. Next morning we reported the issue as the smell was still lingering. The receptionist was lovely and very understanding however they couldn’t give us another room due to no availability. We were able to get a refund and seek alternative accommodation. The room was dated, and requires attention. Throughout our stay in Zadar we met other residents of Villa Irena who had same experiences but they didn’t get to move. This is not 3 star, it’s basic and unsanitary. There are much better places to stay nearby.

Close to all amenitiea. Bus to city was doable with no Croatian language. Nearby small town Diklo a nice retreat - nice taverna by the sea and swimming spots. Nice bakery below. Good apartment with cooking amenities.

The host is great willing to wait for us . I booked the room with sea view and didn’t expect it is not as per the description . No electric kettle to make coffee and tea . The coffee machine not working. And facing the main road and carnival it is noisy

They gave me a room with a broken shower head... I went down and asked them and they said they knew it was broken... Why give your guest a room with a broken showerhead? That was just stupid. Other than that, it was ok... not great, but ok.

WE had booked. Two rooms and were assigned # 8 and # 10 . # 8 was very nice while # 10 was on top floor (ATTIC) and with slanted ceilings was hazardous for meAnd I am 5foot 7 inches tall. I banged my head 4 times in first hour there , but soon learned , hence about 50% of the unit was unusable for me.

Excellent room, a short bus ride to Old Town. The receptionist was very helpful and gave details of the local buss.Beautiful beaches 5 minute walk away. The only difficulty I had was locating the Hotel as it does not have a sign anywhere that I could see.

I selected this property for my daughter and I on a 3 night/4 day stay in Zadar. We hired a car and drove each day to another location (Plitvice Lakes, Krka National Park, Split) and Villa Irena was in an easy location for the travelling.
When we arrived the area was explained to us; 1km walk to the bay and 3km walk into Zadar old town. Though we did walk entirely around the coast line and this was a little further than 3km but well worth it!
The room itself was fine. Nothing fancy; it had 2 comfy single beds, a fridge for our water and a bathroom with shower over bath. It was clean enough, the only reason it doesn't get an excellent on cleanliness is because there was some dust on the bathroom radiator pipes. Nothing major. The room was only small but at the end of the day we only slept there. On the one occasion we thought we'd watch a bit of bedtime TV we didn't manage to figure out any English channels but that may have been us and we weren't particularly bothered.
Perfectly located on the ground floor of the building is a bakery also serving your morning coffee. Delicious pastries to stock up with before the day's road trip started.
All in all, if you're not fussy and are just using it as a base for each night, Villa Irena is perfectly suitable.

It may just have been us but we had a problem finding the apartments which are on a busy main road. There is a sign on the 1st floor wall, which is not very clear, but there needs to be one at ground level also. Our room was on the 3rd floor and there was no elevator in the building which may be an issue for some. The apartment was clean and tidy and had bath tub not just a shower which made a change, the kitchen area is basic but has all you need to cook breakfast or a quick easy meal. We did have a problem with the control for the 2 hotplates as we could not see where the off setting was at they remain hot for a long timeThe bed room comprised of a double and single bed which made the room a bit crowded with narrow access to the far side of the double bed.The large balcony overlooks the main road and a children fun fair which was not in use when we visitedThere is a large car park at site so parking was no problem.

The hotel was basically an apartment. We had a room with a very large front balcony that had a very nice view. The hotel had a fridge, coffee maker and was very nice. The location was great. The beach where you can enter for about 2 Euro is very nice.

Our stay at villa Irene was good only we wished we had booked one with a terrace to make use of the beautiful weather , our room was a little bit poky

Location very convenient, very near to bus station n main square. Supermarket two doors away. Safe to walk about , great restaurant for lunch just down the hill -buffet coco . Apartment clean n well equipped kitchenette. Bed on the mezzanine level so for people with mobility , bit of a problem but otherwise a lovely , comfortable place.

Difficult to find as we were looking for Villa Irena, but no signs for it. Would be useful if it said in description for hotel to look for signs for Terra travel as it is them who are looking after it and checking in/out. Otherwise a nice, clean and friendly place. Spacious studio rooms. A bakery on bottom floor to provide a very cheap breakfast. Close to beach, food shop and restaurants if you can't be bothered to go in to central Zadar.

I really enjoyed my stay. The apartments are very close to a couple of beaches and very convenient for public transportation. I really liked that there was even a clothes rack on the balcony for drying clothes after the beach. The staff at the front desk are very welcoming and helpful. I would stay again in a heartbeat.

The location is perfect if you like to be a 5-8min Walk to the beach. not a lot of shops for rainy Days but you dont come here for the rainy Days! but only a 5-10min buss ride from the hotel to oldtown were you can find shops and sutch. The busstop is just 80M from the front door of the hotel.

Arrived at the apartment just before 10pm. No one there. No reception. Taxi driver phoned the number no answer. Another couple arrived same again. Looked all around the apartment block and rang bells no answer. Now 10.30pm. Walked up the road to a restaurant that was just closing and they tried ringing for us but no luck. Thought we were sleeping on the streets luckily the bar had some rooms free so had to pay for a nights accommodation. Went down in the morning and saw that the travel company was open so asked there, seemed they were the agents and closed 9pm and couldn't wait all night, showed us a note on their door but we didn't know this was part of the Villa Irene it was dark when we arrived and couldn't see this no lights outside. I showed them the info from Expedia who had rung them and told them what time our flight landed and the name of the person they had spoke to so they knew the time we were arriving.Rooms ok but we were at the front and it was like being in the middle of the M62 at rushhour. No privacy on the balcony everyone walking past could see you and not safe for kids.Towels changed once bedding not changed. Every morning around 10 school kids from down the road arrived at the bakery just below our balcony making loads of noise sat below us.Loved Zadar loads of nice places to eat in the old town.

A nice and clean hotel. A little far from the Old Town, but accessible by a bus. The big issue for us was a lack of soap in the bathroom.
