Stayed at Yavapai for three nights. If this were a hotel somewhere else, I would have issues but what kind of idiot would complain about the WiFi or the TV at the GRAND CANYON?! Sure, it was a little…lived in, but the room was clean and the bed was a comfortable place to rest your aching body after hiking all day. The shower was hot. We were safe from the canyon’s notoriously vicious squirrels. Can’t complain.

Very nice location in the park. Close to bus stop and food market. Quiet location. Very helpful nice staff throughout.

Great place to stay. Clean and comfortable
4.2
Comfy beds. Bathroom had mould and mildew in it.

Overall, we had a wonderful stay, the village is great location to explore the canyon.
The restaurants are overcrowded and queues to order food, then you have to hunt for a table. More like canteens than restaurants.
Our check-in was bumpy as our room keys didn't work so we had to drive back and forth between the reception and lodge which was frustrating.
4.2
tv did not work. Poor internet
Answers to questions differ from employee to employee.
Starbucks personel very unfriendly.

We stay here every time we come to the Grand Canyon and it has never disappointed. I love the convenience of the location and the amenities, and plan on staying here for early future visits

Whilst we enjoyed our stay at Yavapai Lodge we were let down by a service issue. The Television didn't work. We reported it twice and we're told "we'll send someone up"...to no avail. While a TV isn't a deal breaker we would have appreciated being told initially that we'd be without for two nights.
The fitted sheet on our king bed did not stay in place and we had to keep refitting it. Would stay again but check some specifics first. The lodge is in a great location and the tavern staff are delightful.
4.2
It is very dark s there is limited low lighting. This made it difficult to get around. The lodge rooms are quite a ways from the main lodge, so you had to drive over whenever you needed something or wanted to eat. The bathroom shower would get hot then cold then very hot all while taking a shower. There was no microwave in the room. The message light on the phone beeped red all night. The beds were very comfortable and the ac worked well.

We visited for seven nights. Location of lodge was close to rim trails. Plenty of space in each room. Food was good but dining hall could use more options. Other places were available nearby for different menu. TV worked for only one night. After five attempts (over 4 nights) to get issue fixed, spoke with manager. Woman at front desk (name won't mention or what she said) was NOT helpful. After being out all day you just want to go back to room and relax for a short while. Manager sent Ian (maintenance personnel) to check on our tv. After seeing it could not be fixed he came back 20 minutes later with new room assignment. Thanks very much to Ian and his manager! Easy drive to the village nearby.

Better than I expected!
Only hicois the fact that the tv didn’t work!

Great staff and super clean. The tavern on site, was great!!!
4.2
Comfortable stay overall - rooms have been remodeled including very comfortable beds.
4.2
Very old 1960s type room, not upgraded.
Immediately had plumbing issue with toilet (toilet was new, but 1960s plumbing…)
4.2
3 night stay was very good. The area had just about everything one would possibly need…dining, general store, shuttle bus, clinic, and even a garage for a car repair we needed.
4.2
Great to find availability last minute on a summer weekend at a reasonable cost. Check in located at a separate building. Actual room not walkable to anywhere. Room appeared updated and surprisingly nice for remote location and age of property. However, be warned due to location in woods rooms are extreme buggy. I killed at least 10 insects during the one night stay, some of which were rather gross. Very hard to keep the bugs out due to location.
4.2
The Grand Canyon is an amazing national treasure, we enjoyed the hiking and sightseeing. The Yavapai Lodge is out of date and needs major innovation!! The General Store is wonderful and the restaurant food choice and quality are unhealthy and poor in the lodge. We had much better breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the El Tovar and Bright Angle Lodge!

Yavapai Lodge is all about the location.
You are literally minutes from the rim of the Grand Canyon and getting there for sunrise is a must and easy to achieve.
Honestly, the lodges are looking a little tired and worn in places. But they are functional for what they set out to achieve.
WiFi shouldn’t be as difficult to access these days as it turned out to be. At check in, the least the staff could do is advise clients that if they want and need WiFi, you have to log on initially at the reception desk b scanning a QR code that you won’t find anywhere else. That QR code in your room would be a huge help, especially as some people also have to work while on vacation. Madness I know, but that’s modern life for you.
Some clues or basic instructions on how to use the shower controls would also have been useful, I’ve never seen anything like them before. I honestly felt a little dopey having to call front desk to ask how they work.
But, again, location and nature is everything at Yavapai. I would probably stay again if I was at the Grand Canyon.

Our second stay here. Great place inside the park with great food. Everything you need is here at Yavapai Lodge.
4.2
This is a very basic hotel. You are paying for being in in the Park, not for a nice hotel room. It was comfortable, though, and clean and quiet. Take a flashlight if you need to find your room in the dark. They avoid lights to make stargazing easier. Don't plan on eating at the restaurant in the nearby plaza. It's awful. The grocery store has some options, but closes early. No view of the canyon, but it's an easy drive to the visitor center and other sites. You can take their shuttle, but they only come every 30 minutes or so (in the off season - they may come more often during the peak season) and they don't go to a lot of sites in the park. The Grand Canyon, however, is magnificent.
4.2
A very nice, but obviously a bit pricey accommodation. Our room was a short walk from the reception, general store and bus stops.
There was a power outage when we arrived and it lasted for several hours. I would’ve liked to get more info from the staff about it. Breakfast was not included in the room price, which is always a bummer. Also the sound proofing in the rooms could use and update: we could clearly hear our upstairs neighbours walking in their room and I woke up to it. You could also hear clearly everything from the hallway.
But Grand Canyon is so absolutely spectacular that you gladly deal with a power outage and bad soundproofing to get to see the canyon.

Beautiful Lodge and great location in the park and very close to the free bus route to the canyon. We had to go to the dining hall or tavern to get food, which was all right, however always quite a lot of people, so best to go very early or late. The bed was extremely comfortable, room service did not clean every day. One could hear the neighbors in the room next-door. Altogether very modern, comfortable and beautiful room! Shower was a bit low for tall people.

Really awesome

It lodge was cozy. They had a Keurig with Starbucks coffee pods. They had a nice a
seating area outside. The Elk walked through beginning around 6. Great paved path the takes you to the village and Mathers Lookout. The General Store is across the street with many options.
4.2
Our one night stay was very comfortable, clean and quiet.

We arrived for check in and were dealt with quickly. When we went to our cabin it was clean and tidy. The bathroom was nice but i will say we found it really weird that the toilet roll holder is behind the toilet. We ended up taking the toilet roll off the holder and keeping on the side of the sink or the bath when we needed the toilet. There is no wifi in the room either which was frustrating as we could only get it in reception We had agreed not to have housekeeping as part of the eco friendly part of our stay which wasnt a problem as any bags or rubbish we had could be put in the bin next to the parking. We were opposite the ice cooler so every time someone came to get ice it could disturb us if we were sleeping. We did go for dinner on our first night to the main dining hall and I have to say it was not a good experience. You placed your order on the screen then got a receipt, queued up , gave the receipt to the servers and then made your choice of which meat you were having. I ordered a salad so I could just go and make it myself but my husband chose the chuck meal and it felt like you were in a school canteen. I would strongly suggest offering more choices of food as there really wasnt a lot to choose from. On our last night we went to the tavern and that had a better experience for us. The location was great, the cabin was lovely it was just the food in the restaurant that let it down.

Front desk staff were terrific
4.2
The first impression at front desk was wonderful! Very informative staff!! The room had an odd smell & the carpet needs either cleaning or replacing... the beds were super comfortable. Faucet in bathroom dripped & the shower panel was cracked. Bathroom in serious need of light & a vanity!! Housekeeping was attentive & kudos to laundry... everything was fresh. Great location. Loved the buffet options. Portions were very generous!! The bus driver was so nice & got us a special pass due to my disability. So so helpful!! Thank you for a very peaceful stay!
4.2
Dirty bathrooms room that made towel black when we wiped it up. No microwave or WIFI in the room. Dog kennel was nice.
4.2
Everything was good, but reacted on the lack of internet. We also where surprised not to have breakfasts includet in the price for the room witch was at the high end....
4.2
Hotels.com and the hotel both refused to issue a refund for a mistaken date on the booking, with each party blaming the other. As someone who travels often using hotels.com and has booked with this hotel before, it is disappointing to see such a total lack of customer service or courtesy.
4.2
Had a problem with a loose toilet seat. Almost created a fall during the night, grabbed the towel bar for stability. Towel bar fell down. Thankfully no injuries. Staff was informed and immediately took care of the situation. We are thankful for that.
4.2
No Wi-Fi access except in lobby. Asked for (and never got) a TV channel guide and a user manual so we could get rid of the annoying closed captioning from the screen. Was told someone would come by and show us how to use it. No one ever showed up. The decor is old and dated. We expected better and that’s not what we got.
4.2
VERY DISAPPOINTING! We arrived before check in time and the room was not available. We totally understand that. However, since we wanted to visit the area, we asked to leave our luggage somewhere at the hotel. The reply was that they only have a small room and there is no space for luggage.
The hallway to the rooms looks rugged and not very clean. There is no WiFi in the room. WiFi is only available in the lobby (about 5-7 minutes walk). In the morning I was awoken by a bug that was crawling happily on my arm. When I told the reception about my unpleasant experience, the response was "we are in a forest". We paid over C$350 a night! Definitely, not recommended.
4.2
Clean rooms, comfy beds and pillows. Shower is ok. Lodge food options are very limited. Super convenient location to access the canyon.
4.2
Super friendly person at check-in. Room was nice and well equipped. Carpet in the hallways needs to be replaced. No WIFI service.
4.2
Super stay
4.2
Grand Canyon, was only there to sleep.
4.2
One of many stops as part of a road trip. Stayed just one night. One of the party remarked it was the best stay out of all our stops/stays. Arrived early in the evening to enjoy the resort facilities and Grand Canyon Village. The view of the night sky is amazing! Got up early the next day to enjoy a light breakfast in the resort's dining hall, and then a visit of the Grand Canyon.
4.2
Great bed. Not hot water in the shower. They say they are environmentally friendly but no separation of trash into recycling and other and horribly unfriendly packaging on the glasses, coffee cups etc. Also, multiple hall lights on all day every day. Turn them off when it is daylight! It is basically a motel, as the rooms are separate from the main lodge area, but at prices you would not expect to pay for what you get - except it's the Canyon!
