The manager was incredibly accommodating and couldn't do enough for us. We where up for my brothers stag party from Liverpool and he was super warm and friendly. The rooms where basic, but the rates good, good location and wifi and what more do you want for a quick trip?

Quiet hotel for the Jesmond area - good news. Room had small but very good en-suite , room facilities were good - kettle , good hairdryer etc except the tv which had terrible reception . Bed was comfortable . Breakfast very good and hotel offered permit parking for a £1 per night another great bonus . Reported a problem in the en-suite which was quickly rectified

The staff were friendly & service was great. However it could be noisy particularly at night from the cricket club & some guests being noisy

For the price, this is a nice little b and b. Stayed in single ensuite rooms. Bathrooms were a bit small but functional. Breakfast was very good, catering for vegetarians too. Proprietor was friendly, helpful and lovely. Car parking was no extra cost as hotel provides permits free for the duration of your stay. We stayed on a very hot weekend in July and the rooms were very hot, so I think a fan in the room would have been welcome, other than this I would stay again as it's very close to the city (20 mins walking) but not right in the centre so no problems with noise when sleeping.

Did what it said on the tin! And that is more than can be said for many an establishment. Convenient and quiet too in what can be quite a raucous part of town.

Unpretentious but clean and comfortable. We were in room 8. Size of room was OK and very clean. Great breakfast in the morning and extremely helpful staff. A big well done. As with most guest houses there is no lift, so if you have problems going up stairs you should advise of this at the time of booking. There was really nothing to complain about.

I had about three quarters of a mile to walk from the local Jesmond Metro station to the hotel as there was no taxi service at this station, it was pouring with rain and I had two suit cases to pull so I could not use my umbrella, by the time I reached the hotel I was soaked right through, and even worse was to come when I rang the bell nobody was there to welcome me I tried several times no answer, it was clear nobody was in to answer the door. As I had just arrived from Thailand I did not yet have a UK sim card so I could not tell the hotel. To say the least I expected the hotel to be open when I arrived which was approximately? 20:30pm fortunately a taxi came pass the hotel and I flagged it down I explained my predicament to the driver and he called the tel No which was displayed outside the hotel. The owner answered and was shocked as he had obviously forgotten I was arriving. When he arrived full of apologies first saying he thought I was arriving later then got me mixed up with another guest who was arriving the next day, excuses, excuses.
The single room was extremely small and the shower cubicle did have a soap dispenser you had to open the show door to use the soup dispenser over the wash basin.
The owner offered to buy me fishn chips but I was not interested, in the morning at breakfast he gave me ten pound I guess to keep me quiet. The only plus I can give this place was the breakfast was good value. In fact it should be classed as a guest house.

The Wifi was really poor unfortunately and having to pay for a parking permit seemed poor.

Very difficult to park in the evenings if the local cricket ground (opposite) had any events.

This guest house was farther from the city centre than we expected but was reasonably close to a Newcastle Metro station. Our room was typically tiny and on the top floor, requiring many steps up the stairs. The English breakfast was adequate and served in a pleasant room. The staff were fairly friendly but a bit abrupt once they had responded to your needs.

Went to Newcastle for a weekend including match at St James Park.
The owners were prepared to be a bit flexible about check in time and let us store our case with them for the day after we checked out.
The Avenue is in a quiet street in an area which is residential and close to the cricket ground.
Breakfast is not fancy but there is plenty of it... the Avenue is not fancy ... but it's clean, its very reasonably priced, the staff are lovely, the beds are clean and comfortable ... recommended !

I stayed for 1 night here whilst in Newcastle for business. My room was very pleasant - it was clean, quiet and warm. The shower was quite sizeable.
The room came with all the facilities you'd expect - free WiFi, plenty of power outlets, a hair dryer, a kettle with tea, coffee, milk & sugar.
Breakfast was good. There was the usual array of choice that you'd expect from a B&B - cooked breakfasts, cereal, toast, etc. They even had vegetarian sausages for a veggie cooked breakfast.
I was able to park my car directly outside the B&B, which is in a relatively quiet residential road. There were plenty of parking spaces, and I was given a parking permit (for a very small price) for the night.
