Good hotel and staff and great location. Only let down by peeling paint in the shower cubicle.

Amazing location right in the middle of everything, a couple of blocks away from the Riviera. Clean and modern room. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would stay at the hotel again if I come back to Porto.

Close to everything. Beautiful property with balcony overlooking the square with live entertainment.
3.0
Amazing location and very friendly and happy staff at the reception and at the breakfast. Breakfast was very nice with fresh fruits and berries every morning.
However maybe I was unlucky with the room I got or had too high expectations after reading the good reviews. The room was half updated, half in quite old and visibly in bad or broken condition. Cleaning of especially the bathroom was unacceptably poor. Really unfortunate because otherwise this hotel was very nice.

Amazing! The location is perfect and the atmosphere and rooms were also very nice. The service & breakfast as well! Couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay in Porto. Strongly recommend ✨
5.0
Beautiful hotel and in a prime location. Not much of a lobby area but restaurants right outside with outdoor seating. Rated 4/5 for condition since the bldg is old and no AC/heating unit. Shower was actually separated away from the sleeping area; nonissue.
8.0
Beautiful room, great bed, and excellent location. Only note is lack of door across shower/sink area—not a lot of privacy.

Beautiful hotel! Welcomed with a glass of port inside and a singer outside, this hotel is in the heart of the town. Great location close to the waterfront, cathedral, train station and etc. Easily walkable. The staff were really nice. The room was comfortable. I loved the exposed brick walls and all of the vintage pieces. It made this hotel feel very special. The breakfast buffet was delicious!

This property is in a great location central to the rest of Porto with easy access to tons of cafes restaurants and shopping. The hotel itself is well maintained and the staff are not only lovely but very helpful when it comes to handling airport transport as well as offering suggestions and making reservations for dinners.

The Porto A.S. 1829 was close to a lot of restaurants and at a walkable distance to many picturesque spots. This beautiful and clean hotel was the best place to come “home” to after a long day of shopping and touring. The staff was super friendly and attentive. I loved that right outside my balcony I saw the inner city overseeing restaurants and hearing street saxophone and violin players. It was noisy outside but closing the balcony doors blocked the outside sounds just enough. I already can’t wait to stay at this hotel again when I go back to Porto!

Expensive for what you actually get. Previous comments noted ‘stocked’ mini bar. In our case that meant 2 bottles of water.

Hotel staff was very helpful with dinner recommendations and sight seeing tips. Hotel was centrally located and walking distance to many sites. Our room was a little noisy at night by street musicians- who were very good--and late nighters

I cant praise this hotel enough.
The location is fantastic, its in a sort of square where there are restaurants and a busker entertaining diners. Its a beautiful area. The street its on is lovely and great for shopping. Its well placed for Sao Bento station and the riverside.
Breakfast is fantastic and you can help yourself during the day to pastel de nata and port!
The staff are lovely.
There is a lovely bar in the evening and lovely restaurants close by.
I loved Porto and would go back to this hotel in the blink of an eye.
The room was great. Slightly odd shower arrangement but its a double thumbs up with bells on for me.

We reserved 2 twin beds but on arrival, there was no twin beds only a queen bed.
Had to ask twice for an extra blanket.

This is such a wonderful hotel, right in the centre of old town, close to everything lovely in Porto.
Our room was on the top floor overlooking the square and had a great view of the river and the opposite side of town. The bed was so comfortable. The hotel provides complimentary Portuguese tarts and port for guests in the lobby, such a nice touch. Breakfast was well presented and tasty. The hotel staff were all so lovely. We had two tours that started early. The restaurant staff were very obliging and allowed us to have breakfast a bit earlier than the official start time.
