The staff was very friendly and always willing to assist.
My room was clean and very comfortable.
Internet connection was reasonable.
The rooms are not soundproof enough, I heard every activity outside of my room

Love it and will return only bad thing is they program the tv not to stream from your phone and they don't have Netflix or Prime set up so your only entertainment is local channels

The accommodation itself is ok but, the rooms are not isolated (noise cancelation). You will hear steps, knocks, and scratches on the wooden floors and walls. Also, the people who have very early flight AM flights due to non-isolated rooms will hear a lot of noise.

It an old house in the centre of Georgetown which has been a hotel for many years. It has an open courtyard in the centre that induces a cooling breeze during the evening. No better place to stay in Georgetown

Stayed here for 3 nights. The restaurant had a good selection of food, and it was quite good. The staff were friendly and helpful.
The rooms are very outdated and need to be renovated. The WiFi didn’t work up in the rooms, only in the lobby could we connect.

I was in Guyana for a short stay and needed to be nearby. It was a plesant experience. Staff was cordial and helpful. They hotel has done a very good job of modernizing the space and still maintained its quaint historic features.

The property was very picturesque. The lawns were well manicured and the building is well preserved with updated features like internet access and modernized bathrooms. The mattresses are super-comfortable and afford guests great sleep. The seating areas surrounding by beautiful foliage were very relaxing. Because the furniture was susceptible to dust, great care should be taken to maintain
them. Because of the foliage, is there something that can be done about the mosquitoes? Furthermore, while it may not be safe for each room to have a microwave, I suggest that some common area should be set aside with disposable dishes and flatware for guests to warm up food.

Room was great, good air conditioning, ceiling fan, mattress was soo comfortable. Service was top notch. It was a dhame that the food was low quality. We ate their 5 times 2 breakfast and 3 lunch/dinner. Brrakfast was 4/10 I didn't like the fake suasage and the toast with no butter, reaally wasn't worth the price we paid. Lunch/dinner, the beef burger was mush and couldn't finish it and the chips was standard frozen chips deep fried. The quality for the price we paid was defo not worth it. Would recommend eating out.

I called for directions and no one answered. Finally found the place and entrance is closed so we entered via the exit. Then walked in and found a half eaten plate of food on the front desk but no concierge. A "security guard" then approached and checked us in... On top of all that i believe i was double charged so that's another stress. I have and will continue to share my experiences of this establishment.

I would describe Cara Lodge :
The Staff are like Gems in a SINKING SHIP .
Historic wooden building that has seen better days.
The Manager is useless: the Common Area is tired looking and I came for the CPL (Cricket) , telly in the Common Area not working and never replaced - whenever I asked , I got a lot of LAME EXCUSES.
Overall , for Premium Rates a certain standard is expected , which was Light Years behind .

I am a frequent traveler and I have visited many countries and hotels. This by far was the worst. I understand that the hotel is an historic building but having to carry 4 suitcases up 6 flights of stairs was not a good experience. The room was ver old and looked like it was not upgraded since the hotel was built, the flooring was cracked in several spots sinking in as you walked on them, there were exposed nails and we are traveling with our little one so that was a concern. The list goes on and to top it off there was no warm or hot running water. My little requires warm water for a skin condition. Imagine having to shower him at 3am in cold water. Needless to say we
Contacted the front dress to ask if we can switch rooms and they told us non was available. We tried calling back several times and the front desk would not take our calls. We left the next morning checked into another hotel and forfeited our money we spent to book Cara for 3 nights

Beautiful building in the heart of town, the food is usually good(save for breakfast one morning). However there was limited hot water so our showers weren't warm and the hotel bar closes at different times which was a little confusing.

Lovely place. Great service and food. Just noisy. Rooms are not really soundproof. But it’s an excellent option.

A great hotel, centrally located with a staff that went above and beyond on our recent visit. The front desk, was instrumental in helping to secure trip to Kiaeteur Falls and Essequibo River Tours. And the food was so good. Already planning our next visit!

This hotel is horrible and I’d never stay there again. There were some very helpful and kind employees but also some extremely rude ones. The location is dangerous, not encouraged to go outside alone for most part. Expect a couple of lizards in your room, they will say it’s normal and there’s nothing they can do about it. The rooms are very noisy. Make sure you turn the shower on 30 minutes before the time you actually want to shower, that’s how long it will take for hot water to come out. Terrible experience. 5 star price for a 1 star hotel. Never again

This is a very old building with no elevator and nobody to help you carry your bags up 3 flights of stairs so if that is a problem, this hotel is a problem. I slept fine and have no real complaints. It is interesting that when I sat down in the desk chair at the bedroom desk, the chair would roll down the floor to the bathroom. As I said, it is an old building. It is very pretty and seems safe.
