Upon arrival to Berwick we had a difficulty in finding the hostel and had to ring for the directions unfortunately. There's no TV in our room, no internet access as well which is a bummer 😕😔 Apart from that it's good that our room is situated in the ground floor which is good for me since I'm a disabled and the bathroom is a big plus,too!

This an innovative property developed by a local Trust which restored a historic building in a declining neighborhood into a combined art gallery, conference facilty, bistro and hostel. It is modern, clean, and close to many fine restaurants and bus and train transportation. This is an excellent location for access to Edinburgh to the north, Newcastle to the south, and nearby tourist attractions, and affordable!

We found it hard to find the entrance when first arriving. Reception/ restaurant area is warm & inviting. Our room was a good size, paying similar to hotel properties, i would expect towels to be included in the room price. Other than that it it was a nice stay. Close to town.

I've not stayed in a YHA for many many years - but so delighted to find they are still going strong and are embracing all who come .... including those like me who are older "youth". The bed was single, but comfy and the bedding nice and warm. I was in a room for 5, but had it all to myself. Good shower, and bathroom facilities en-suite. All the staff I met were extraordinarily friendly, welcoming and kind. The cafe area had good selection of food and drinks. Breakfast was great. The room - and the shared areas - were clean. Good supply of local area walks; tourist places; Lindisfarne tide times and bus timetable. I will definitely consider staying in a YHA again on my next trip.

The young boy was friendly and welcoming which was great. However we were a bit shocked that we had paid £90 for a night and only had a bed in the room. I thought I booked a hotel room and not a hostel, so maybe that could have been made clearer when booking. We were excited to get into bed after a long day of travel and watch some tv only to find the room completely bare apart from a bunk bed. This was definitely an experience. Was very clean and felt comfortable just not what I was expecting, but did the job.

The staff were really friendly and gave us loads of advice about where to visit during our stay. The breakfast was lovely. The building was outstanding. A very peaceful night's sleep and the shower was super powerful and amazing

Our room, L02 had an ensuite disabled type bathroom. Unfortunately due to a combination of poor design and poor cleaning the bathroom and adjoining room smelt badly of mould.

An amazing stay, with really friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful building, couldn't have been made to feel more welcome. Very comfortable bed and very quiet. Super coffee and John was an absolute super star helping me get my vehicle started! Will definetely be back, thanks guys, you are all epic

Got locked out of the hostel. The number to contact for out of hours was not being used. I was locked out wearing a T-shirt and jeans (shoes etc) but no shirt or coat. Luckily it was a warm evening. In the end I googled the National YHA and someone let me in at 3.30 am. The emergency number was no longer being used. A different number was displayed in the foyer but nowhere else. Luckily it was a warm dry night and I’m a big horrible looking bloke. I t would have very different if I was a female, or if it was raining/snowing. I had a refund for the night, but it didn’t do much for the rave I had the next day.

Dorm room was cold, no heating but reception guy did try but no luck … Great location, very much catered for young teens. Interesting building though & the history surrounding it, pretty awesome 👍

A good basic night's accommodation. Very pleasant reception staff. The room I had was a family room with a bunk over a double bed. It was sparsely furnished but spotlessly clean, with en suite toilet and shower. Very good value.

There’s a common kitchen with cooker & fridge, utensils for cooking. There’s a common lounge as well with TV. A common dining area. Coffee shop at the ground floor. Could not find the free wifi. No phone in rooms. No TV or mini fridge. No free parking. A 2 hr parking is possible for £1. Petrol station & supermarket less than 1 mile. Walking distance to the quay with the famous bridge. Overall very convenient place to stay when you are stopping over going to Scotland. A good price as well.
