We had a great stay.
The only issue we had was that one of the members of our trip was confused by the concept of a hard boiled egg at breakfast. To quote - “how do we cook these?”
We will back.

This is a special place. It changed my opinion of Boulder as a city for the better. 10 minutes from downtown and feels like another world.

Cute cozy room, old school feel with a hot tub. Beautiful area! Called to check if I was going to make it before after hours which was considerate. Highly recommend this place!

Lovely retro cabin built in the 1930s.

We loved our stay here! Now you get exactly what you see…it’s small, locally owned, old fashioned motel. But the staff was awesome, the rooms had a nostalgia feeling to them. The grounds and setting are ideal and honestly make up for any flaws the place has. The bed was comfortable and the room had everything we needed, except a coffee maker. But it’s a short few steps to the lobby and coffee is available all day. We would stay here again for sure.

This place is great! From 1930’s so don’t expect all the modern luxuries. But the AC was great! And location across from walking path and creek are great. Close to downtown, but just outside the hustle and bustle. Staff was warm and friendly.

We stayed one night and it was wonderful. Very friendly staff and a beautiful area to explore near the motel. It’s great to see the old fashioned type motels still in business!
Thank you for your hospitality!

Amazing little motel! The rustic vibe and decorations went great with the mountain backdrop. The room was clean, all basic amenities were there, and the staff were super nice and responsive. Will definitely stay here again!

We loved our night at the Foot of the Mountain Motel. It was exactly what I hoped it would be and was a very comfortable place to stay with my husband and two young teens. We dipped in the creek, took our breakfast out back to watch the bunnies and birds, and walked to Pearl Street for dinner. The customer service was the best part though - old-fashioned, kind, responsive, and friendly. My husband and I both felt like we were staying at grandma's house. So cozy, comfortable, and sweet. We will definitely be back!

Sweet property, tucked in the mountains, easy access to everything but quiet. It has a wonderful old world charm. The staff were really amazing - friendly and helpful! I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you Patti and Jeremy

If you want a more personal, quirky, charming place to stay- this is it! The setting can’t be beat- mountain behind you, little park & snow melt creek 15 ft across the road.
Sit outside in the red Adirondack chairs & people, chipmunk, squirrel, rabbit, helicopter, maybe even bear watch!
VERY clean although definitely vintage & rustic furniture & fixtures. Super comfy beds. PLENTY of pillows & towels! Never have enough in a chain hotel. Fresh ground coffee! Simple breakfast, enough to get you going.
Lovely folks work there.
If our son decides on a school in the area, this will probably be our landing spot when we visit. It was cozy, comfy, felt good.

Foot of the Mountain is very nostalgic, it brings you back to the old days when thing were simple and cozy.

I love this motel. It has gotten significantly more expensive over the years but it’s still amazing. The MOST COMFORTABLE SOFA BED!! I know, crazy! And the queen bed was equally fabulous.
Boulder Creek is just across the street. New ownership seems very involved & local.
Now the BAD NEWS:
There was a water leak that resulted in 2 of my 4 days being without water for 4-6 hours during the day. I’m from a southern city with frequent ‘boil water’ advisories, so I could deal with it. It’s Boulder; just get patchouli.
When I went to speak with someone about a really late checkout, I was met with defiance & attitude. I work at a Forbes 4 diamond hotel, so I know what I was asking for but was surprised by the quickness of negativity. I paid over $1000 for 4 nights & was unable to receive Grace & accommodation when I needed it.
I’ll return, of course!!

Property is very old but it was pretty clean. The bathroom tub had large stains in it that gave me pause before I realized it was stains and not just dirty. Beds and pillows were comfy.
Location across from the park was a pretty cool feature. They don’t rent tubes, only sell them so we weren’t able to try tubing since we flew out the next day and couldn’t bring big tubes with us. It would have been a nice feature if they had rented them as well to people who fly in.
The water was shut off when we arrived and again the next day for some sort of repair but they let us know and it wasn’t much of an issue.
The breakfast was a basic continental with some decent options and served in a cute little living room area.

Very outdated and the room was very small. Had a very, very bad smell in the kitchenette area which the staff did try to help fix. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had the hideaway suite with the deck and hot tub which was amazing! The location is EXCELLENT with the park and rapids across the street.

Staff was amazingly friendly and helpful. Beautiful location at the foot of the mountain and adjacent to a park and Boulder Creek. Trailheads are a few minutes walk and walkable to Pearl Street Mall.

Altho this place is older, it was perfect and the staff was very nice. She had bikes for rent, the park, bikepath, and river were right there. We rented scooters each night to go to dinner. We had a great stay.

This property was a cute little place to stay. AC worked perfect. Only thing was the fan did not work in the bathroom. Staff was very nice and provided good breakfast options.

Property is located in nice, quiet area, near a park and stream and is super quaint on the outside. But once inside, it smelled stale and was quite dated and didn’t feel very clean when we stayed in the 2 bedroom unit. I found several small dead bugs and killed a couple small spiders when there. The hot tub was nice and freshly cleaned and refilled for our stay but shared a porch with another room, which wasn’t expected or presented in photos. Breakfast was meh, but the staff was great and very kind and accommodating. They were the best part! Overall it was a fine experience but I wouldn’t stay there again.

We had a great time! Very cozy and unique hotel. The furnishings are older but that’s to be expected at a place like this. We loved the continental breakfast and the walk to the river and park. The Flagstaff Suite was perfect for our family of 4.

The place is an amazing little hidden escape! Beautiful, serene grounds. Lush area out back for events and family gatherings. What an exceptional staff they have, it made the stay top tier. Too wonderful not to share!

The staff were so lovely and accommodating. The location is absolutely amazing. Short walk to downtown, hikes like Mt. Sanitas and the creek is literally across the street. The room itself was adorable. The continental breakfast is fabulous. Wonderful stay!!

This is a modest hotel, but was everything I was looking for. Room was clean, bed comfortable, the bathroom is on the smaller side, but absolutely fine. There is a nice breakfast included in the morning (coffee, cereal, toast/bagel, fruit, hard boiled eggs...). Overall I chose this place because of its location near several trailheads. It's easy access onto trails and into the mountains. Plus, it's a bit quieter and feels more like you're staying in the mountains yet you're a short walk/bike ride into downtown Boulder.

The rooms and the motel in general are like mountain cabins -- knotty pine and cozy. The motel is a mile from downtown, an easy walk, and there are terrific hiking paths just across the street. The staff is very friendly and the vibe in general is homey and relaxed.

Beautiful and comforting option to stay literally at the foot of the mountain. Love the charming cabins and quiet privacy. Perfect place to stay if you want to be in the edge of Boulder. Dog friendly. Perfect place to recharge after day hikes.
