The experience with 3 nights did not meet the Average score 9.4 on hotels.com.
Generally the room was cold and the water too until requested to turn up water temperature making the bathtub delightful.
Breakfast was relatively simpel not too vast a selection.
Service was good

Beautiful hotel and friendly, helpfull staff. Great location, lovely breakfast on the rooftop terrace. Loved everything about the place.

Visited Rome with my mother and I for a few days. We appreciated the location of the hotel--a little off the beaten path, near the bridge towards Trastevere and within walking distance of Piazza Navona, Pantheon etc (about 10 mins) and cute shopping areas. The staff were generally very nice and welcoming, although a bit cold at first. The room was very clean and the housekeeping was very detailed. Our room was a good size esp for Rome--but an awkward configuration- the bed jammed into a corner and tough to get around the bed without having to climb over it ? I had to pick up my very heavy suitcase and slide it across the bed to get it to the other side. The a/c didn't seem to work (maybe it was me?) but air circulation wasn't great. The breakfast was good, very good options for sweet and savory and the staff were super! I liked the hotel, good sized rooms and nice staff but overall value at that price was a little lacking for me and not a lot of details.

Loved the location. Pretty close to everything but actually on a quiet street. Room was fine. We would have liked a larger one but none was available when we booked. Very clean. Staff very helpful. They have a lovely rooftop bar for breakfast but the breakfast got a little tiring. Also several from my family went up to the rooftop bar at night when it was supposed to be open but it wasn’t. So that entered into this review. All in all a very nice place to stay.

Overall, nice hotel, but we had some issue with the reservation by credit card suppose to pay at the property but they had already take the whole amount on the credit card, very disapointed.

Great hotel and friendly and accommodating staff. Excellent location. Lovely rooftop bar/breakfast area. The breakfast buffet was good but not outstanding. My biggest issue is that because there is older stone flooring, no carpets and rooms are all in close proximity around the elevator, it is very noisy both until late at night and beginning again early in the morning. Overall, we had an excellent stay at the Hotel Monte acenci.

Friendly staff. I was also impressed by how hard working the staff are. The hotel felt like being at home to me. We spent a week staying here. Now there isn't much to do within a few blocks of this hotel but it is very easy to walk all over the tourist areas of Rome from here (or to mix using a taxi and walking). Avoid going to any restaurants that have pictures of the food on signs outside. They are selling low quality 'tourist' food & you will be disappointed!

A fantastic hotel with wonderful staff and so convenient to all the sites etc . We would highly recommend.

The staff were great - all of them. Our rooms a/c went out and they fixed the problem promptly. This is a sweet boutique hotel next to the tiger river and restaurants, bars and shopping near the Jewish Ghetto. Very easy to get around and see the sites. We would staff again.

There is one BIG problem with this hotel, which is otherwise clean and well-run: You could be assigned a room below street level which means you have to leave the small window closed and feel like you’re staying in a dark windowless room.
When I asked for a different room I was told there weren’t any, even it showed availability online.
What’s deceptive is that since the hotel is on a slope, you can take the elevator up one level and still be below the street above.
I had prepaid the room and didn’t have any option but to stay so avoided going back to the room as much as possible.

The stay was not great. We were upgraded upon arrival to a room that had a bathtub. Later in the evening when we went to use the tub there was no hot water. They sent someone up that attempted to tell us that the water wasn’t hot but it wasn’t cold. I guess that was an attempt at doing there best. Needless to say, the second night was only worse. Additionally, the shower was located in a space with no ventilation so steam collected on the ceiling. Whe. You look up there a brown color all over the ceiling. I don’t wanna assume what it was but it certainly needed to be fixed. Also, the light switch for the toilet room did not work and we were using the bathroom in the dark. Also, the diverter on the tub faucet was missing the knob so the shower handle could not be used. When I addressed this with the front desk, he apologized and did nothing to accommodate our stay. I would not stay here again….

Good location. Nice property - rooms were larger than expected. The breakfast on the terrace is not to be missed! But the very best part of the hotel was the staff - in particular Cecilia who greeted us on arrival and was a daily resource for our stay at the Monte Cenci. I would highly recommend this hotel and plan to use it again on our next trip to Rome.

Very central hotel with wonderful friendly staff - nothing was too much trouble, we will definitely be back!

Hotel Monte Cenci is a wonderful boutique hotel. We found it conveniently situated and easy to get to all the landmarks without being in the middle of everything and the crowds. What we especially liked was that one of Rome's many free water stations is located just outside the front door. The service at the desk was friendly for us first timers asking silly questions, the staff preparing the wonderful breakfasts were so accommodating and the rooftop area was a wonderful spot to wind down after our overfull days of sightseeing. We would recommend this hotel and stay there again.

Some floor and rooms of the hotel seems to be nice but we were on the first floor and the room had water stain on the ceiling and paint peeling off the walls.
The window was also at street level and the room was dark. The bathroom was renovated and very nice.
The personal of the hotel were very noce and the hotel is well located.

We travelled to Rome on vacation and spent two nights at this boutique hotel. The location was great for us - very central and in walking distance to some of the famous sites. The facility and the rooms were clean, trendy and maintained with care. The staff goes out of their way to accommodate requests and appear to take a genuine interest in giving their guests a positive experience. I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Rome

We were here for three nights in May. First, the AC worked very well in our room. The room was clean when we arrived and was cleaned daily. All the hotel personnel we interacted with were wonderful and very helpful. We found the area convenient without the expected noise in a big city with plenty of dining options nearby. Our only complaint would be to repaint the scuffs on the walls in the room where luggage had rubbed up against it.

We loved our stay. Four nights in May. Walked all over Rome and hit most all of the iconic sites.

This is a great boutique hotel in a quiet location, very walkable to many areas of Rome. It was right by the Tiber River, and we felt at home the minute we walked in. The property has a great rooftop terrace where we enjoyed breakfast each morning. The hotel staff was very helpful throughout our stay as well. Highly recommend!

The property was clean and staff very helpful. The decor was somewhat basic and could do with an upgrade (our bedroom door frame seemed to be very damaged?) . Location was very good for sights, restaurants etc.

We had a great stay for 3 nights in Rome at Hotel Monte Cenci. The location was fantastic. For those that are looking to be close to everything but also stay in somewhere a bit quieter this is the spot. You are about 10-15 mins to all the major sites, but right across the river from Trastavere for the best dinner spots. The staff was friendly and helpful, and our favourite meal was from their recommendations. Our room was a little smaller than expected, but by European standards the bathroom was great including the rain head shower and everything was clean and well kept.

Very clean. Nice breakfast and good location. Walking distance to major tourist attractions.

Location was excellent. All major monuments were within walking distance. Restaurants and nightlife just over the river in Trastevere. And the best gelateria in Rome … Alberto Pica … only 2 minutes away!

A very nice breakfast was included. We arrived early in the morning and were giving coffee and croissants. Our room was upgraded. The area is very quiet and the rooftop terrace is lovely. The location is perfect! So walkable to Trastevere as well as the historic center and lots of food options. Also minutes walking to the Largo Argentina where you can find a bus to anywhere in Rome. The hotel arranged for a car to pick us up at the cruise ship terminal as well as to the airport at the end of our stay. If you need a lot of English language TV in your room, you won't find it. But you are not in Rome to watch TV. I would stay here again.
