We were only there for the night, a quick stay but would definitely come back again. We heard that from time to time they have live music in the courtyard and would love to come back for a weekend to listen to some great music.

Girls outing for a birthday. Did not want a hotel. This property is older but is so unique with the cutest cottages. The outdoor spaces are extremely well maintained. Fantastic pool!!! So clean and refreshing and partially shaded. This property is near a busy thoroughfare but it didn’t affect how relaxing it was. Could not see traffic or hear traffic while inside the room. Very private. Will definitely stay here again.

We absolutely loved Gruene Cottages. Closer to town than expected - an easy walk and safe to do so of a night time. A lovely pool area with some shade which was a huge bonus in the Texas summer! Would gladly recommend and look forward to returning.

Loved the friendliness of the housekeeper, the location was great and the room clean and comfortable. My only suggestions would be a couple of robe/towel hooks in the bathroom and to state that there is no elevator for the upstairs rooms.

My wife and I arrived at Gruene Cottages about about 5pm, having notified GC that we would arrive later in the evening. Upon my arrival I realized that my reservation was for an upstairs cottage. This was an issue as I am in my late 70s and can’t manage stairs. I met with the manager on duty. She made a phone call and minutes later we were allowed a downstairs cottage without additional charge. Once in the “SONORA” cottage, we were blown away. It was absolutely beautiful. A beautiful bedroom, full large bathroom and a full kitchen. Each room had everything one could possibly need for an amazing stay. There not enough room here that fully describe this cottage. It was spotless, kitchen had microwave. Keurig coffee make, full cooktop range and refrigerator. With limited space here, just let me say it was perfect. Did I say it was beautiful?? IT WAS BEAUTIFUL!! The manager was most courteous and eager to see that our stay was indeed perfect. Rating it from 1 to 10 with 10 perfect.. I rate our cottage a 10.10. Stairs were required to access our room. "View" from our balcony was of the parking lot (Texas style, very bare and uninviting, but lots of birds in the trees around the swimming pool! Lots of grills, good parking. Very roomy space, nice bathroom, beautiful hottub! Couldn't open curtains due to proximity of neighboring residences. musty odor or cleaning solution? on entering property. Very friendly and polite management, who informed me (after we left) of underwear they found in a drawer. Which must have been left by a guest BEFORE me. cleaning service problem? This property and the people who run it are absolutely amazing. We had a great 2 night stay in the Lavender Suite. Comminication with the manager was awesome, very polite and very promptly responsive. The pool is very nice and the room was well appointed with everything we could possibly need. Thank you!!

It was a great place to stay. Close enough to dowtown Gruene that we could walk and a short drive to New Braunfels. We stayed in the Lavender room - the king bed was very comfortable.

Unique property, not the same old hotel. Well maintained and within walking distance of old town Greene. Most people will still drive. Also very close to tubing launch across the river. Would definitely stay here again.

We have stayed at a lot of hotels,B&B’s, cottages houses. I would rate Gruene Cottages at the top of our list. It was so relaxing and comfortable and provided snacks, water, coffee, extra pillows etc…. We stayed in the cottage called “The Rosemary “ . We will definitely come back.

What makes this lovely place different is that it is a compound of, well, cottages. Two rooms per cottage. Super cute property. Really excellent communication and checkin process. Really tiny quibble is that if your housemates are watching TV, you will be listening to their program.
