Quaint lodge by the river. Large beautiful jungle area around the property with several adorable resident monkeys. Absolutely loved our stay!

An amazing jungle stay! Real thailand experience to be surrounded by wildlife. Staff were fantastic and amazing food! We loved our stay & thw cheeky monkeys. The staff organised our trips which were brilliant

I want to start off this review by saying that I am someone who loves the outdoors, hiking, camping etc. I’ve hiked Kilimanjaro and done 2 week treks before. That being said, this lodge was maybe too extreme nature for me. I hope this review is helpful because when I was booking I didn’t see enough like this
Pros
-right in the nature, very remote not that close to Main Street
-service was great
-river right next to hotel
-good breakfast
Cons
-huge lizards in our room
-hardly any barrier to the outside (holes in floor and walls) so tons of creatures can get into the room
-our treehouse stairs were treacherous and we are physically fit 20 year olds. I’m not sure how someone much older would be able to navigate these stairs every day let alone with bags
-no AC (this was a killer for us given that it was close to 35C/95F during the day and didn’t really cool down that much at night. They provided fans but we were still dripping all night)
-20 minute walk to town to go to restaurants and in the stifling heat and humidity this was brutal
Unfortunately because we couldn’t sleep the first night due to heat we ended up leaving 2 nights early. If you want a very remote, VERY rustic stay then this place is for you. Truly felt like camping in the jungle.

The staff were very helpful for ideas, tours and transportation. Lovely setting and walkable to town.

Not enough storage in room. Everything had to be put on the floor, which was clean

Our stay of one night was perfect. We got a free pick up at the bus stop (that we didn’t know we were going to get) and a refreshing drink at check in. The bungalows have plenty of windows to open up and let it cool, and have a mosquito net over the bed. We also booked the river tubing with them, which was really relaxing
5.0
They use a lot of plastic straws (like two per drinks) so not very eco friendly. But all the rest was awesome!

Highly recommend
We spend the time with the kids and it was perfect

Had a great stay. Amazing view and setting in the jungle. No problems with cleanliness but guests must consider the fact this is a wooden building in the jungle. Food was great, and staff were helpful and friendly.

My only regret is not staying longer. They were so helpful and accommodating to me. I wish I could have spent more time by the river. The food was great. The rooms are very much “in nature” but they are very clean and comfortable.
Note the rooms do not have AC but the fan was more than sufficient!

Amazing place with great surroundings. Lots of privacy in the jungle and plenty of monkeys. Great stay

Excellent location right at river, where you can swim - and close to hiking in Khao Sok National park. Very friendly and helpful staff, and cosy huts - but it can get hot inside since there’s no aircon, but only wall fans. But you get a lively nighttime lullaby from the wildlife :)

Staying at Art's was truly an experience! The exterior truly looks like something from a movie - beautiful creek with monkeys swinging off vines into the river, cute little cabins, and exotic plants. Totally a fun place to stay for an authentic rain forest experience. It was a nice home base for Khao Sok Park, and it was a 10-15 minute easy walk into the town of Khao Sok (with the restaurants and stuff). The hotel offered a free breakfast buffet, which was very nice.
We attended the lake tour from the hotel, which was very fun and easy to arrange at check in.
The main downside was the lack of some creature comforts - no AC made for warm days/nights, lots of bugs and lizards inside and outside (bug net provided, but it had some smallish holes), etc. If I were visiting Khao Sok again, I would probably spend a bit more and get a place with AC and sealed windows (to avoid the need for the bug net), but it was still a fun time.

For me no matter how esthetically pleasing a hotel is if the bed is all worn out springs poking you such that you can't sleep then it has failed at it's primary purpose which is a comfortable place to sleep.
The room was dirty. I enjoy rustic and camping, but sweep out the room before you rent it out.

The atmosphere of the restaurant and location is beautiful. We had a garden lodge which was absolutely challenging.... On arrival we had to remove several cockroaches and other insects. The cabin has no windows and no insect nets in front of the windows. The bathroom had no windows and no blinds. When showering with the insects the neighbors passing by see you standing showering... There are more modern cabins, the old ones really need an upgrade. We booked four nights by left after two nights..

lovely place to stay in the jungle. Breakfast was amazing! Rooms were spacious and the mosquitoes net was great. No ac but did have fans. Furthest away from the stip of bars and restaurants and its a very dark walk at night. Overall enjoyable stay!

If you want luxury, this is not a place to stay. I had a huge gecko that kept me up during the night. The bed sheets seem a bit tired but it was clean. The prices seemed high; staff seemed tired but it is the high season.

Great and quiet place, has an amazing river spot for a quick dip when the weather gets hot. Loved it!

Amazing location. Right on the river. Very peaceful. Tons of wildlife right outside our door. The rooms are rustic, but clean and well maintained. You are staying in the jungle, not the Sheraton so plan accordingly. That said as a budget travelers who is used to roughing it this felt very fancy in a adventurous sort of way. We can't wait to return. Breakfast was very good, dinner was good as well. The staff was great. Zero complaints.

You are submerged in the jungle and everything around you is so lush and beautiful! The sounds are incredible and we were 20 steps from our front door to the river. I LOVED THIS PLACE!!!!!!

Staff is extremely helpful & friendly at Arts, able to communicate in excellent English, tips on local adventures, and pointing out various wildlife. There’s a terrific number of sleeping accommodations for everyone such as couples to larger groups. Close enough to small village to walk in and explore.
Downside, Internet is very low & spotty.
Upside, take advantage of the day trips they offer. Knowledgeable, fun guides.

From the setting of the place I can imagine that the place once had a nice atmosphere, alas now it seems that it succumbed to the ugly side effects of crowd- (for not saying mass-)tourism.I got a quiet room tucked away from the famed river which was as well since there was a noisy crowd present those days. The room was very basic but airy with high ceiling. The problems started with the hot water not working properly and the toilet being blocked. When I told that to the staff next morning during breakfast I had the impression that she will have forgotten it 5 minutes later, so just to make sure I told it to another staff-member, hoping that it would be repaired when I came back in the evening - useless, nothing was done.About the breakfast buffet, it seems nice at the beginning but it was spoiled by the fact that everything, from bacon over noodles to fried eggs, was just cold, obviously hours prepared in advance. The next day they put little flames under the boxes where they kept the foods but those went out after 5 mins, so only if you were lucky you could get a little bit warmer food. The staff itself was friendly although it seemed a bit of an automated friendliness (crowd-tourism!) and as soon as you deviate just a little from their expected script youll find only confusion.Last, you charge quite high prices for what you offer, please higher your standards a bit accordingly; for example a small fridge and a kettle in the room would not be too much to ask, I think.

Ok , so the bungalows are primitive, the beds are hard , the shower barely trickles and the monkeys steal your stuff if you leave it out . But who cares , this is one of the most magical spots I’ve ever been to ! The lodge is beautiful , set beside a river where monkeys swim and bats and birds fly around , where you can swim , kayak,go trekking or just sit and watch nature around you this place is fantastic! We ate all our meals here including breakfast (breakfast plan) and the food was good , prices were very reasonable , plus the setting is spectacular . I wouldn’t hesitate coming back or recommending Arts Riverside to anyone .

Four of us including 2 teenagers stayed at one of the bungalows—one double bed and two singles. Room was basic. Mattress was quite hard—ok for us. We ate there one night—food was OK. Breakfast OK for the setting. A comfortable 10-15 min walk to “town” where there are choices for food and massages. We loved the location and the grounds. Really, really nice environment to enjoy the jungle experience! Spend time walking around the gardens and look at the plants, trees and the flora. Even some bungalows look awesome—like in fairytales. There is a nice swimming hole with a swing rope at the property—kids enjoyed it! There is a new manager (May) who is very helpful and easy to communicate via email and face to face. They can arrange tours (do the 2D/1N lake tour!!!). Visit Khao Sak before it is over run by tourists. Art’s is a great place to stay and we will be back.

I would definitely recommend staying at Art's. Basic accommodation but location is outstanding, facilities are simple but clean and in good condition. Remote enough to feel in nature but a short walk from shops and nice restaurants. River view rooms literally is right on the river, close enough to listen to the water as you fall asleep.
