Nice stay. Good service from reception. Quality bar and restaurant.

Complained about fan noise and heat of the room

This is a tired hotel which, on the day I visited (which was hot and therefore needed the windows open) was noisy from the bar and had no car parking (because the bar was busy). The bathroom only had a hand held shower and bathroom was also tired. Breakfast was continental only up to 9am and only available from 7:30am (not great if you are working).

Next to dorridge station. Nice and neat room. Good

We arrived late on Sunday so went to the bar at 9.20pm and bought a bottle of wine only to be told that tge bar was shutting at 9.30pm and we could take the bottle to our room !!!
The continental breakfast was very poor and no marmalade in the hotel for toast at breakfast.
4.3
Booked for our customers and was highly praised by them.

Cooked breakfast only available after 9am ..no use to many business travellers..Parking is a nightmare as around teatime the carpark is filled with people using the pub and very little parking around the st ..had to repark at 10pm

Very pleasant and comfortable room

The staff were very accommodating. A bit noisy for us but we go to bed early and bar still functioning
4.3
Great stay immediately across from train station. Noise not a bother. Well appointed room. Great pub attached. Terrific front desk and wait staff.
4.3
We had no hot water in our shower, also pipes making loud noises all night so didn’t get much sleep, and it was filthy in our room, the toilet hadn’t been touched from the previous occupants, and the towels smelled musty and damp, we were really disappointed considering the cost of the hotel, we could of stayed in a premier in for a little less, but guaranteed a better shower and room
4.3
Absolutely amazing and fantastic from the moment we arrived until the moment we left.
Having spent the day at the Game Fair we were all totally shattered, and sadly (our own fault) reception advised they hadn’t got any dinner tables left.
However a while later they managed to squeeze us in abd nothing was too much trouble
The food was superb, the atmosphere wonderful, and the room’s fantastic
Will deffo be staying here again!
Thenkyou to everyone for a fantastic stay at the Forest Hotel

Stayed one night as had a family party nearby . The room and staff where lovely . Our room was above the bar . When we arrived back at 11pm it was very noisy . 12.30 we complained as people were gathering outside and there was still a lot of noise downstairs. They eventually moved on

Excellent Staff and service

Stayed here for one night and booked the superior king room. Room was nice size and clean. Was a little noisy on the evening as below our window is the outside seating area for the bar. Breakfast following morning was very nice .
4.3
The hotel is very nice and the room was large with quality linen, towels, toiletries etc…
However, the hotel is an old building and it shows in some places for example the windows in bedroom. We had no hot water in the morning due to an issue with one of the boilers which we were told is old.
It is a lovely place to stay but needs a refurb in places.

The room had so much potential, but it was needed some TLC, as did the public hallways. The shower was terrible water pressure and the carpets and upholstery all needed a good steam clean.

This was just like Fawlty Towers. When we arrived, the doors to reception was closed so we had to drag everything through the restaurant and bar. There was a nice girl who tried to help us ret registered but she told us she was a bartender, but filling in for the person who should have been at the reception. She then called another guy who was also nice but also told us that he was not used too handling hotel guests. He gave us room 11 but when we opened the door, the room was used and not cleaned, towels on the floor and bed was not made. The he took us to room 2 but this "suite" was also not clean and bed not made, trash in the bathroom trashcan. He ten tried room 5 and that was clean. Att this time, we were tired and just wanted to rest. Next morning at breakfast, the person in reception was also the cook but told us that he could not make eggs of any kind. He did bring coffee and a selection of toast and yoghurt that was fine. we asked if we could use the restroom in the restaurant before leaving but it was so filthy with piss on the floor and waist everywhere that we decided not to use it and just leave. I would not recommend.

Great hotel and looked like a popular restaurant in the evening. Recommend pre booking if you need a meal. Mine was a last minute trip, so hadn't booked. Lots of other choices nearby and lovely area. Breakfast was excellent and great service. Definitely would stay again. Good value.

Good but not great. A safe average location, not as good as the local competition.

my stay was good the only thing that I noticed was because the weather was very hot I had to have the window open, and as it was next to the railway station, I did hear noise from the trains going past, however overall it was a nice hotel.
