It was an amazing stay. Just excellent. I wouldn't change a thing. The staff was really friendly. They help you with excursions. You get a free ride into town whenever you want.

This property was absolutely gorgeous, the river house was definitely worth it. The staff were lovely and the hosts were really awesome. Will definitely book again. The horse riding to the waterfall was also worth it, loved everything about this place except the food in my personal opinion but my partner loved it.

it's one of the best place i have stayed! when you opening the window in the morning, a group of cows leisurely grazing on the grass, the river, the sun made everything like a paradise. the hosts are very passionate of what they do, the place and facilities are very well maintained. location is in the middle of cocora valley and salento. great experience.

If I could give 100 stars for this gem I would !!! The absolute greatest staff, owners, management, family atmosphere, food, location, cleanliness, activities, scenery, animals, accommodations, etc., etc., etc. !!!! There's truly no rating high enough for this little piece of paradise ........ close to Salento, as well as the Corcoran Valley !!!! A real live functional dairy farm where you can see, learn, and experience the daily life of what it truly takes to put milk, cheese, butter, and yogurt on your table !!! I can't say enough about the staff and owners ...... how helpful, kind, accommodating, and just willing to do anything possible to make sure everyone is at the peak of happiness and contentment !!! I LOVE THIS PLACE, and will be back with more gringos soon !!!

I LOVED this hotel on a finca (ranch) in the country about a 5 minute drive to Salento! It’s amazingly gorgeous. Sebastian is very friendly and got me checked in right away. The first room I got was tiny so I asked if they had another larger room. No problem. Thy are very accommodating. So I was taken to room 12 which is stunning. Very large room with windows on two walls, the size of the walls, looking out to the incredible scenery with cows and chickens and other birds flying around. Like other reviewers said, after about an hour and a delicious lunch there, I felt like I was part of the family and had been there for years. The whole staff is so friendly. This is one of the best and nicest hotel rooms I’ve ever had around the world. It’s tastefully decorated and just so peaceful. The meals are great and the horseback ride I went on with their handler was terrific. Beautiful ride to an incredible waterfall.
Such a great place and I would highly recommend it!!

The hotel was located in such a beautiful, peaceful area. We had a lovely stay and enjoyed the town and surrounding area, but also enjoyed taking in the hotel itself. We were also incredibly impressed with the quality of the food both for breakfast and dinner. The staff is incredibly warm and helpful and went out of their way to give us the best guidance of our time in the area. Santiago even drove us into town a couple of times, instead of us waiting for a jeep!

Hector is an amazing person. He would personally give us rides to the pueblo and was always around to answer our questions. La Cabana is well taken cared off and is full of exotic birds. I will most definitely be staying here in the future. Breakfast is great! Dinner is fantastic!

We got to the property well ahead of check inn time. The owner, Maria Camila, was so kind in letting us check-in and had our rooms in no time ready. She showed us around the property and was very welcoming. You get the feeling of having your own space in this wonderful place. Highly recommended!

Everything was perfect. Family-run. Freshest food off the farm. Beautiful surroundings. Saturday night feast was delicious. Esteban gave us great advice what to see and do and arranged rides, etc. Went horseback riding with a coffees tour in the middle. Next day hiked the Corcoran Valley. Boots provided at the hotel. Loved the little town of Salento but glad to be just outside the town with the rushing river and incredible views from Ecohotel La Canana. Sorry to leave.

La Cabaña is located on the road from Salento to the Cócora valley at no more than 10 min from twin if you have a car or a cheap cab/keep ride if you don’t have your own car. The property has two buildings: The mountain, or main one, includes parking spots, a restaurant and a small cattle farm operation. The riverside cottage is across the road and cannot be reached by car (it is a 2 min walk with your luggage). The rooms are simple but everything you need is there. Comfortable bed, bathroom with soap, shampoo and conditioner and even a very good value minibar (including a full bottle of wine!) The hosts will gladly help you with everything you need and even provide boots for your treks when it gets too muddy. They can also organise coffee tours or transportation. Breakfast was simple but had good options and they make small changes day on day. The cabaña runs a restaurant so you can always have something to eat at reasonable prices.
One of the minuses is that the lack of curtains makes the rooms a little too exposed (it is a shame to have to close the blinds when you need to change and miss the view). Also, I found it odd they have a corkage fee in case you bring your our wine to your room. I suppose this is to deter too much binge drinking so I want to think it is not enforced too strictly. Wifi was available but patchy with not much speed.

Very clean, a touch of rustic with a farm style and breathtaking views. I am very picky about cleanliness and service. Highly recommend

We stayed at La Cabana with our 2 children aged 4 and 6. We all absolutely loved it. The owners, especially the eldest daughter Maria (who is completely fluent in English having attended an American school), could not have done more for us including lifts into Salento, taking us to the family friendly Tejo (gunpowder game) bar, booking shared jeeps with other guests to the wax palms, tickets to a coffee plantation, a taxi to the airport in Pereira and taking us all to try milking their cows on their neighbouring dairy farm. La Cabana is in the most beautiful and peaceful location - next to a river you can swim in, surrounding by birds including hummingbirds and lots of fruit trees. The breakfast is varied and delicious. We had one evening meal there and that was great too. Salento itself is busier than we thought, so it was great being just outside (a private jeep back was £3, a shared one going in the right direction and dropping us off was £1), enjoying the scenery and lazing in the many hammocks. It was just as nice as the fancy boutique hotel we stayed in in Cartagena, but only a quarter of the cost. I can’t recommend it enough. Just book it, you won’t be disappointed.

Our experience in Colombia would not have been the same without our days in the Eco Hotel. Maria and the whole staff have been incredibly caring throughout our stay. Rooms are nice and cozy and the whole space is immersed in nature. The in-house restaurant serves delicious meals (I personally fell in love with their "Colombian falafels") in a very comfortable and homelike setting, with a great view over mountains and young cows. The venue aims for total sustainability and managed to abolish single-use plastic and overall waste.Great set of activities available: we went for a coffee tour (superb) and a horseback riding experience (unforgettable).A special mention to Maria's dedication and friendliness: it's visible that she cares deeply for her guests' comfort and happiness, and she really went the extra mile with us.

This hotel is absolutely fantastic. It is located just outside of Salento, do not let this scare you, as jeeps drive very often and you can even walk.
The location itself is amazing. It is a traditional ‘finca’ that still operates as a farm. It is located in the middle of the beatiful Valle de Cocora.
The staff is great, Maria speaks English fluently which helps if you’re Spanish is not that great. They are all very helpful and want to show you the beauty of the Cocora valley.
This is by far the best hotel in the area of Salento. Thanks to the staff for making this experience unforgetable!

I really enjoyed staying here. It felt like staying at the finca with hector and his family versus staying at a farm. The location was beauitiful and the service was top notch. It was cool to wake up to roosters and cows.

The hotel is about a 7 minute drive from the center of Salento. Beautiful views of nature, an incredibly peaceful vibe, friendly dogs and helpful staff made this one of my favorite spots in Colombia.
One tip: bring ear plugs if you're a sensitive sleeper -- the cows are loud at night :p

This is the best B&B we’ve ever stayed at! Such a beautiful and peaceful ranch! Hector and his family put their hearts and souls into the ranch and its animals and it shows! The rooms were very comfortable and nothing was too much trouble for Hector. If he’s home, he’ll give you rides to town and the cocora Valley, make reservations for you for the coffee tours, arrange horseback rides, etc. the BBQ’s he throws are legendary! Best food we had in Colombia and if he whips out his guitar then you’re in for a treat! Do yourself a favor and stay here. Wish we could live here forever!

I arrived after dark. Maria Camila, the owner's daughter picked me up from town (it's about a 5-minute drive). I couldn't see much as it was dark but my room was large and had everything I needed. Maria delivered dinner to myself and the couple next door for us to enjoy at the seating area outside our rooms.
When I awoke the following day and looked outside, it's like I entered a movie. It was truly paradise. 63 countries and I've never seen a place so beautiful.
The service is fantastic and there's nothing Hector (the owner) and his team wouldn't do for you. I enjoyed a horseback ride right from the farm, played with the dogs, got to know others staying there, and was made to feel like family. I loved Hector's special beef cooked in the fire. The meal included toasted marshmellows for dessert and Hector playing guitar and singing (a great voice).
There are some moths and other random harmless bugs which enter your room through cracks under doors and other random spots and are attracted to the light but don't let that stop you from coming. This is a farm and is not in the center of a noisy town and any creatures calm down when the lights go out.
This is an amazing place and will be a highlight of your trip. And sitting just between Salento town and the Corcora Valley, the location is perfect.
I will return next year and hope to see you there.
