The place is clean and neat and the stuff is very helpful. But, and it was a bit But for me - there is no even smallest lounge place or any other place to be and work. The reception area is combined with a cafe, which is very busy and popular among the locals. I was missing a place to work in peace, so ended up working in my capsule, which was of course a bit punk. But if you are on holidays and just need a place to sleep - the place is perfect for a budget travellers.

Great hostel, nice and clean with good facilities. Lovely staff

If you're sensitive to noise this place is not for you! It is not only other people but a constant noise like an aeroplane taking off. The sheet they supply (to make your own bed) barely covers the plastic mattress. For the price I expected better.

Not a bad place at all, especially for that price point. I paid about $34 a day. Just a little not clean feeling, also the neighborhood around there is a bit too quiet for Tokyo. Also transportation to get around Tokyo is hard from there. But again very good price so overall a solid place, 4 stars!

Very clean and comfortable. Perfect if you just want a good night sleep.

Very clean property I love it. However they reserved upper bed for me (55y). It was so hard to climb up. And some customers don’t mind leaving hair in washbasins.

This was a great one night stay for me! Check-in was easy and I was happy to see the staff speaking English. The bed was comfortable and didn’t feel claustrophobic, and the washrooms were well maintained. I also appreciated the locker storage because that made me feel better about keeping my lugggae stored while I went out. The area was also very convenient to get to the buses and stations, and the food around was incredible! The cafe downstairs is also worth a visit - their oat latte was amazing and definitely hit the spot. Would come back to stay at this hostel for sure.

We loved this neighborhood, just a 10 min walk from Takeshita Street, with all the shops and cafes! The hostel has a nice cafe on the first floor, and a 7-11 just down the block. We would stay again, nice showers and bathrooms, cozy beds!

Everything was perfect. Thank you.

Staff are friendly and informative. The cafe is excellent. The building is dated but clean. A bit hard get up to some of the pod so ask ahead of time via email to get the lower bunker. It is good and affordable alternative if you only want a place to sleep at the end of your day.

Very nice attitude

There is a supermarket convenience store near the hostel. However, eating and drinking is prohibited in the room.
The hostel is close to the train and bus station.
The hair dryer cannot be used until 11pm, so we recommend that you take a shower early.

Facilities consist of only a bed, toilets, lockers, and showers in a room that is reminiscent of a beehive, which is kind of charming. The cafe on the bottom floor has amazing food, coffee, vibes, and even Luup parking. I've stayed in many similar places during my Japan travels, but none rival the way locals embrace and fill the cafe day and night. They are definitely doing something right. I wished for a refrigerator during my week stay, but what am i doing eating in when in the dining capital of the world? The hostel is located in frankly the hippest neighborhood I've stayed, Japan wide, with Shibuya just down Kamiyama street (hello walking home after clubbing) and Harajuku only a bit further. Amazing coffee on every block, a Blue Lug bicycle shop (iykyk) immediate train access, and fantastic food everywhere. My only knock on the neighborhood from a tourist perspective is that so many of the dining options are european. Book early, as beds are full almost every night.

Very nice hostel but you do have to walk up a big flight of stairs with your luggage but the hostel women helped me. Also make sure you buy ear- plugs or else you’ll hear people digging in there bags all night long lol! I’d stay here again very clean!

almost no service at all, but the price is cheap and location is good

Second time in Japan and second time staying at Almond. Close to train connections, plenty of shops all around and in a very cozy neighbour hood. I Highly recommend you stay here.

Hostel was conveniently located. Could walk to Harajuku within 20mins. The stairs to the hostel was pretty steep though so carrying of heavy luggage up was a bit of a hassle.

Right above the cafe and so convenient because it’s near the Yoyogi-Hachiman station

Literally everything. Great facilities, the venue is very convenient too. Close to Yoyogi park, walking distance from Shibuya. 2 stations away from Shinjuku.

The cafe is amazingly! Staff so nice! Just if the other people staying respected the rules. That only reason my comfert was not the best. Otherwise chill place great shibuya area away from the noise

Best location, 2 mins from train stations, close to central Tokyo and walking distance from Shibuya and Harajuku. Clean, quiet and comfortable rooms and beds. Staff are also polite, friendly and nice. There’s not really common areas to chill at in the room. You can do so at the cafe downstairs, which has a really cool vibe, but it does get busy sometimes.

1. Great Location
2. Clean and Tidy
3. Not easy to move in and out from the room, without enough space for big luggage, stuffy room without ventilation, my space is with fishy smell...
4. Not bad but could be better

Staff were very friendly. Bunks were fairly comfortable, but quite short, so your feet stick out of the privacy curtain. Food and drink not allowed in the dorms but you can bring food and drink from outside and eat it in their cafe. Customer service available until 1am.

Hostel is nice with large single pods / bunks, with plenty of washing facilities. The electronic door looks is quite annoying when people are coming back later at night as it is quite loud. Coffee downstairs is good, but go round the corner for equivalent cheaper coffee.Lights out at 11 is good however, the use of the laundry is not stopped after this time, and is only in a room off the dorm room so is loud long into the night if people start the washing just before 11, suggest the hostel kill the power the these facilities at 11 with the main lighting.

The aesthetic was very nice and the staff were welcoming from the get-go. The rooms are cool and spacious with good bathroom facilities and a laundry. The only downsides were the stairs up to the rooms were very steep and it was a struggle to carry our luggage up and down, and the mattresses were hard to sleep on.

Great location! Close to Yoyogi park, easy walking distance of Yoyogi koen and Yoyogi hatchiman. Halfway between Shibuya station and Shinjuku stations. Plenty of combini and other shipping opportunities, would definitely stay there again!!! A+

The place is great for a short stay. The room is like many other hostel rooms, with many bunk beds and visitors from many other countries.
What I like the most was the Mustard Café, a quite tranquil space with a lovely natural light and great music ( a soothing. a collection of jazzy instrumental lo-fi beats). The neighbourhood is not so crowded and one can feel truly Tokyo local vibes while staying at Mustard. There are many nice cafés, shops and restaurants around the area. A great place if you would like to be centric but not in a busy area.

The hostel is above the cafe that's run by the same ppl running the hostel. The down side is, there is no pantry/kitchen, you are not allowed to eat in the hostel, and the common area is the cafe, which is kinda awkward when what you want to do is just to make yourself cup noodle, but it's weird having to eat that in a cafe with other cafe customers as well.... I seriously think that they should consider having a small pantry or kitchen within the hostel, so that we don't have to go down to the cafe everytime we want to eat something, or just to boil hot water.
