I cannot fathom how this place gets such good reviews. Be prepared for an extremely steep three flights of narrow stairs to climb upon arrival. The outside of this “hotel” does t even look like one. Don’t expect to have any water in your room, either. When checking out, they hit you with a tourist tax that is not reflected in your total price as expressed on hotels dot com. Bizarrely Over $500 a night total cost, crazy

When you first enter, the entrance door or the stairs might scare you. But behind it is a amazing place,with amazing service. Angelo gave us a warm welcome and everything we needed to feel comfortable. And the place was amazing as well. Very nice and clean. Everything we needed for our stay. Highly recommend it.

Everything was great, location, the place, it was clean and located in a great area. The only thing is that there was a tourist fee that I had to pay and wasn’t notified about if before. Just to have it in mind….

Convenient location. Close to shopping and restaurants. Room amenities are very nice. The only downside is that it has a lot of stairs. They were easily negotiated but could be a problem for some people.

This was a really great location and in traditional accommodation. You do need to climb the traditional Dutch stairs, so pack carefully. But once there Angelo is fantastic, the place spotless and as I say the location perfect. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to come back. Some complimentary drinks topped off a perfect stay

Angelo was great! The room was beautiful! Great space, close to the canal and central area. The balcony was beautiful and a real selling point. My only negative comment is nothing to do with the property, but the street it's on. The street was very dirty with trash strewn about during our stay, and there's a coffee shop just below the bed and breakfast which meant there was some loud yelling and residual scents on some nights of our stay. Overall, our stay was pleasant and Angelo went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible.

This property is a wonderful little gem! It is perfectly situated in Amsterdam to access all points of interest. The property is clean and spacious. It is 3 flights up and the staircase is narrow and steep but this is quite typical of Amsterdam properties. Angelo, our host is absolutely wonderful! Full of tips for our stay, helped us with our luggage and even supplied some bubbles and cake for my partners birthday…would definitely recommend this place!

Angelo was an excellent host. His instructions were perfect and the guest house was easy to find. The room was spacious and well appointed. We had everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again! Note - one must climb a few flights of narrow stairs to reach the room. This was no problem for us, just something to be aware of for those with mobility issues.

Lovely weekend in Amsterdam. This is a great location, just minutes walk from central station and Dam square. The host and the room were great. Nice little touches with welcome drink and snacks. Those stairs are typically Amsterdam !

Excellent! We really enjoyed staying there. Complimentary smacks and drinks and Angelo helped us whatever we needed. As there are no elevator Angelo helped us carry our luggage to the third floor.

This property and host Angelo lived up to the reviews. Angelo was very helpful and accommodating. It was a great location, very convenient and within walking distance of most places with plenty of frequent transport if you want to explore further out. We stayed in the deluxe double room which was lovely and spacious and also very quiet, we slept really well. We enjoyed the snacks and refreshments, just what we needed on arrival! If we come to visit Amsterdam again, we would definitely stay here! Thank you Angelo!

This property is in a perfect location, about a 10 minute walk from the central train station. There are a lot of shops and restaurants in the neighborhood. It's a great place to start you walk around the city, very close to museums and the canals. The host Angelo was very sweet, he carried my suitcase up the small spiral staircase to our room. Our room had a large window that opened to the street below, which was great for fresh air. The shower had amazing water pressure. Angelo stocked the mini fridge with beer and sparkling wine which was complementary. Tea and coffee was available in the room, and in the hallway outside there was fresh fruit and snacks. Recommend this place highly, unless you cannot climb 3 flights of stairs, as there is no lift. For us it was no problem.

Would definitely stay here again. Walking distance to central station and all the sights in downtown Amsterdam. It was so nice to have a king size bed in Europe. Clean accommodations. Angelo is an excellent host, very responsive and provided us with information about tours and restaurants in the area. Don’t hesitate to book!

Great host who was very helpful in finding sites of interest and good dining recommendations. Just not use to the challenging stair access to the third floor but was ok after a few trips up and down. Not sure why the area around the property is so messy, we had come from Budapest, Vienna, Bratislava, Berlin and Prague all of which were pristine in what would be a similar touristy neighbourhood. Maybe the city should review it’s cleaning practices.

Fantastic location near to everything, the landlord is the sweetest and most service minded person you can think of. Everything we needed was included in the room and Angelo helped us with everything and also suggested things to do and see. We highly recommend this facility. Just keep in mind that the canal hous is old and stairs steep.

Our Amazing host Angelo made us feel so welcome and gave us so much information we felt comfortable walking around Amsterdam. The little added extras in your room and just outside are great - fruit, stoop waffles, pain au chocolat, coffee, apple juice, a little bit of fizz and a couple of beers in the fridge etc… the room itself is beautiful - so clean and comfortable and well decorated - again the little extras in the bathroom were lovely. The stairs are ‘Dutch’ thin and steep - but we laughed about them every time we had to go up and down. Not for the faint hearted or if you are not good with stairs! The guesthouse is in an amazing location so close to everything :) would definitely go back again ;) Although when Angelo tells you not to get a taxi from the train station - don’t it is a rip off and the accommodation is literally 10 mins walk away 😉

Host went above and beyond to make you feel welcomed he gave an overview of places to visit things to see and where to eat Amsterdam is rich in history and there is much to do here and the location of this wonderful guest house made our stay that much more enjoyable the three flight of stairs was an added attraction to life in Amsterdam

It was my first time in Amsterdam and I had a great time at Crown Guesthouse. It’s only 5min walk from the main station. I was on the 3rd floor in a lovely room. It was clean,peaceful,warm, with everything I needed. Complimentary sweets and snacks, books, coffee and teabags, maps of the city, a few free drinks in the fridge, toiletries and new slippers all well provided. Angelo is a great host, welcoming, he helped me by giving me advice on the city and how to get around, he is available for any eventuality and he provided everything necessary for a very pleasant stay. I highly recommended it! Look forward to coming back! Thank you!
