Right on the beach, staff are great, food is well above average for the location. Whales can literally be in your back yard during the season

The staff is amazing. Every person we encountered was kind, helpful, and engaging. Also you are 20 steps from the beach, fantastic bed, shower and porch.

This resort is in a gorgeous location - we saw a whale and calf pass close by whilst at breakfast. Easy to kayak and snorkel off the beach, excellent food and delightful staff.Highly recommended if you are looking for the perfect place to relax and enjoy a sunset cocktail in an authentic Tongan setting - distant church singing, roosters crowing and the occasional pig passing by.

A booking mix up meant that we were booked into the resort even though it was still closed for refurbishment (the rooms were finished, but not the restaurant, bar and other common areas). The owners, Shane and Helen, learnt of this mix up only the day before we were due to check in, and tracked us down in Vavau (no easy feat). As an alternative, we were put up in the Boathouse Apartments in town, and someone from the resort drove us out every day. We were given the use of a room at the resort with access to the beach, and then were driven back to town every afternoon. So while it wasnt what we had planned, Shane and Helen did everything in their power to ensure we had a lovely stay.

The highlight was the snorkeling trip to the Japanese Gardens and Swallow-Tail cave. A must do. The food at this resort was excellent. The Vava'u pineapple is the best in Tonga.
