Ouch!
Place was clean and tidy, not sure what's going on with their fire safety with fire doors propped open everywhere and a massive gap a truck could fit under on the door to our room.
Room was adequate but the matresss was like some sort of torture device. Looked like a back of the van special with springs sharpened to impale you so wasn't the best night's sleep
We had a family room that was supposed to be 2 double bunk beds, we had one double bed, a single bed and a super long bed above it with half a safety rail. Each sleeping position had a socket so I suppose that's a bonus so you can watch your phone while the bed springs stab you!
Can tell they are trying or have been but and the one curtain across the window so nearly covered it!
Bathroom was alright, had to take the top off the soap dispenser to get any soap and pressing the shower button every 20 seconds was a little annoying especially as I left school 20 years ago and can be trusted to switch the shower off when I get out of it!

We were allowed to check in early which's good.
Shower was very weak. Toilet and bathroom very clean.
My girlfriend was freaked out by the questioning of her by the male receptionist upon checkout when I went to get the car and pick her up from the door as it was raining...

The staff were lovely, and the room we stayed in was great and had a view of the sea. I really struggle to find any fault with the cleanliness of the room or the quality. The price of the room for two nights was honestly the best I’ve found in a while. The only downside is the walls seem quite thin as we could hear our neighbours and their kids, but overall we were happy with our stay and we’d be happy to go back and stay again.

The hotel is located near the beach, which is very convenient. Check-in is very quick. However, the rooms turned out to be a bit noisy, and we sometimes had trouble relaxing. Overall, it was a good experience, but they should consider improving sound insulation.

I was pleasantly surprised by the level of service! If I have the opportunity, I will definitely return!

Nice location, lovely views, close to the town and nice staff however the room was very small, no housekeeping and a plug socket wasn't working.

I booked a room at Reef Lodge for one night for myself and three children. We had enjoyed a holiday in Cornwall and were catching a flight from Newquay the next day. Book in was fast and friendly. The room clean and comfortable. The bathroom was surprisingly modern for a period building. Local beaches were a short walk away as were bars and restaurants. Thoroughly enjoyable stay.

I recently stayed at this hotel and was pleasantly surprised. The rooms were spacious and well-equipped. The staff was friendly. The hotel's location was also very convenient — the beach was nearby. The Wi-Fi worked flawlessly, which was important for me. Overall, the hotel exceeded all my expectations, and I would gladly stay here again. Recommend!

Great location right in the town center, beach 5 mins walk away. You can park in the road if you are lucky enough to find a space. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Accommodation is basic, room was clean and tidy with a fan provided for cooling. Overall a good place for a base for a short break and Overall good value for money.

My first time on family Hostel, i was very impressed, clean, confy, all that really let me down was not towel hanger, no toilet paper hanger, would me better if they have some place to storage the clothes, and the WiFi was not working for the entirely stay but fix on ladt day probably technically fault. Other wise i be back soon.

Room was very basic. Which was to be expected as it is a surfers/ backpackers hostel. But no tea or coffee facilities apart from a communal room downstairs which is locked in the night. So if you’re an early bird or late to bed then you can’t use the facilities. Also nowhere to hang your clothes as room has no wardrobes

Nice and clean, friendly staff. Provides a minimal service, but is good value for money.

A place to get your head down, for a group of mates it wasn’t too bad but for a family I could imagine the noise and small rooms could be an issue

Staff were very friendly, very close to all 3 beaches in Newquay. A beach 2 minutes away and Tolcarne beach is only a 9 minute walk. Enjoyed my stay and they had a TV!

Shower was awful, as the shower head is fixed pointing to the wall and it’s a push one so you only get 10 second bursts. One of the bunk beds as very little gap between the top at the bottom it’s ridiculous. It’s like climbing into a letterbox at night. They tried to make us pay cash upon arrival even though I’d paid, plus I think it’s some form of temporary accommodation, as we had to walk through a crowd of people outside reception every time we left the building. Constant talking outside our room. Can’t see how they justify charging what they do. No daily cleaning either!!!
