Nice old house, close to town.. we enjoyed our stay.

Top quirky b and b. Balcony room fab. Great for when music on.
Highly recommended particularly if you prefer individual to brand!

For what this is- a hostel - it’s nice. A few things would have helped us as travelers so I do want to point out a few things.
It’s cold in the winter in the rooms. They have a space heater but it’s still cold. There are no drawers. I highly suggest - if you need drawers (like we do) there are none.
We also needed to plunge the toilet. So if you don’t know how to do that be aware!
There are also no windows. I thought there were some behind the curtains but- it’s boards. I wish I had known these things. It was very clean.

The house was clean and the instructions were good to get in and for the room. The mattress needs to be replaced in the Galorie room and there was a loud clanking noise outside the window with the wind blowing.

Great place to relax and enjoy yourself. Good music, (Saturday night). Our room was the Balcony. Very nice and yes, with a balcony. The room is spacious and the bed is comfortable. The common areas downstairs are really enjoyable and have a warm ambience.
Downtown is literally across the street.
And really just across the street is Bordens ice cream. Banana splits, sundaes and more just like they were 45 years ago.
We will return.

Great location, and easy to access! The bed was very uncomfortable, but everything else was good!

We stayed in the Bird's Nest room. Found it to be comfortable and clean.

All the house was for us because there is no one more accommodate at that time. Very nice and beautiful place, near the downtown.
Concert in the evening for free for people accomodate in the guesthouse.
You can made your lunch/dinner/breakfast in the common kitchen.
The only contra is that the bedroom has no shower, so we have to go to the common bathroom for shower.

Place was fantastic and surprisingly kid friendly. There is no bathroom in the rooms. Fantastic experience though.

Very cozy room, large balcony, comfy bed, plenty of towels and little lagniappes. Didn’t use the kitchen but looked immaculate and well-stocked, huge and welcoming like an old fashioned kitchen. Easy access to guesthouse and room. We were welcomed upon entering by a smartly dressed guest from Denmark in the entrance parlor as he was reading by lamplight. Best part of all? Dancing the two-step in the Blue Moon Bar out back to some awesome local musicians & sipping a cocktail after driving from Houston in an unrelenting downpour and under tornado watch! So glad we chose this destination!

Great place. Room was huge and comfortable, even had my own little private balcony. Communication was excellent. So enjoyed the evening in the saloon with the Cajun jam!!

Funky old house with cool decorated rooms. My only complaint and it’s not really, but the house was cold and they did have space heaters going. Loved the outdoor areas even if the saloon wasn’t open. Very cool stay, would def recc to friends.

I’m afraid to share this review because it’ll bring proper praise to this place. The Blue Moon is absolutely magical. It’s entire concept is built around culture, community and music. Any adventure into this part of the world should include a stay in this truck special place.

I did not like anything except the person who helped me get into the room. The place should have closed their doors. I was the only guest in the inn, the place was very cold and damp, and the saloon was closed. I did not stay the night but had to find another hotel. Not sure if I can get a refund because it was paid for via Expedia.

The bathroom smelled so bad I dreaded going in it. No shower. The room floor was so sticky my bare feet stuck to it. Window shutters all broken.

Great music venue with rooms in the building. Music was outside in the yard, and very intimate. Weekly wednesday night cajun jam was awesome with all the best local musicians showing up. Walking distance to downtown restaurants, galleries an other music spots. We will be back!

Place was very nice. Bed was comfy. Was hoping to work from the balcony but the wife wasn’t strong enough. Also the saloon was closed. That should have been noted on the site or hours given etc because it was part of why I wanted to stay here.

It was fun to stay at this property. It reminded me of hostels I have stayed at in Europe. Such a property isn't for everyone. First impressions is, "is it safe", but I never felt threatened in any way. It took a little effort to understand the person-less check in process and locate my room. Bed was very comfortable and the wifi worked well.

Great place to stay. even though we experienced some confusion about booking, we worked it out. Rooms are basic; small but clean; Quaint neighborhood, good food within walking distance. Quiet until the party Thursday night; but you are advised of this beforehand. Keurig coffee pot is sooo much nicer than motel room instant coffee. Cons: parking is across the street. Staff has a "contactless" policy, which means that i never saw any staff face-to-face. all talking is via phone call or text; there's just something cold and impersonal about that in my opinion. we probably could have avoided the confusion about which room i was supposed to get, if we had met in person.

Great overall experience. The only real negative to mention is lack of dedicated parking. Nichole and I would definitely recommend staying here and plant to revisit in the future.

The Blue Moon has a unique and cool vibe about it and the place was very nice along with the staff. We'll be going back.

The heritage was interesting. The stairs are scary to maneuver. I would recommend some reflective tape To see the change in direction.
