Incredible food, kind and helpful staff, comfortable and clean Japanese style rooms, relaxing onsen-for all these reasons I would stay at Shiga Kogen's Hotel Shirakabaso.
8.0
The hotel is cosy and warm. The staff are amazing and very helpful. The hotel is very clean in every part of the hotel. The western rooms are quite large with seating area and a bathtub. The private Onsen are free. There is a coffee machine in the Lobby for a good cup of coffee for a small fee. The snowboard hire gear in the hotel I would not recommend as it is a little old and short of variety. The ski gear storage room is large and doubles as a drying room with lockers. The breakfast and dinner is very Japanese and of good quality but no western option is offered.

Staying at Hotel Shirakabaso was a highlight of our trip to Japan - outstanding hospitality with lots of thoughtful touches from caring staff. Much effort and attention went into the delicious meals. Very convenient location to transport, with great, we’ll maintained hotel facilities - particularly Onsen in the snow.
