This is a great guesthouse just at the edge of town. Free parking is provided. The room is great and has a nice view of the mountains. The breakfast is excellent, and the owner is very nice, who also helps with itineraries. The only comments I have is that the check-in times are limited, and that no shampoo is provided in the rooms.

Wonderful, friendly staff and delicious variety of breakfast options with comes in handy because of the location of the guesthouse. Lovely location with beautiful views, however a car would be handy in this location. We had children and no car so found the position of the accommodation on top of a big hill and walking challenging at times but this doesn't take away from overall experience of the guesthouse and it was great excercise for us all. There are free bus passes for tourists which comes in handy. The rooms are lovely and spotless, however a few more additions to support self-catering as an option would make this accommodation fabulous for families.

Our stay at the Gaestehaus Bergwald was purely outstanding. Our room was clean & cozy, especially the picturesque view from the balcony melted our hearts. Breakfast was delicious, staff was friendly, and the city center was within walking distance. I would definitely stay here again!!

The Jenner room was nicely decorated and the owners were nice and welcoming. The cleaning lady was there when we arrived and could only speak a little English, but she was nice and still explained everything well. The owner came to our room a few minutes later to introduce himself and find out what time we like to eat breakfast. There was the typical breakfast spread. We were provided with a Berchtesgaden card to help with costs of parking and discounts. He will give advice as well for things to do. There is a beautiful view of the mountains from the balcony. The shower was very small (but that is typical for Europe). Wifi okay on phones only. Although everyone was friendly, there were some very notable downsides to this guesthouse. The towels were once white and now very yellowed and rough. You can tell that they were nice towels at one time. Hot water did not seem to be available late evening until at least 7am when we tried to take late or early showers. There was still water sitting at the bottom of the electric water kettle in the room. There was dust on the ledge in the bathroom and a lot of dust in the surge protectors next to the bed where we could plug in our phones and camera batteries. The cup in the bathroom did not appear to be clean. The wood floor of the balcony underneath the balcony carpet also feels like it may be a bit soft. However, it appears that they are making improvements to the property, so hopefully some of these items will be corrected.
