No hot water. Turned it on when requested but turned it off again 2 days later. We were ther for one week stay. Four star hotel does not skip on comfort. Roman Empire could be 4-star.

The place is nice. I won’t recommend the food (pork still have hairs and too hard), but brekafast was fine. Guard needs to be trained not to discriminate customers by its race. He prioritized the foreigners even he was already assisting us. He left us during the heavy rain going to our car service and took the umbrella with him and assisted the foreigners instead .

All good

Staff in the cafe were excellent!

Love the ambiance of this place. The staff are warm and welcoming.

Stayed at this property for 8 days. The property was very clean and 5 minutes from the airport. Our pool room was basic inside but great value & clean and you can walk out the door into the giant pool. The meal and drink menus were extensive and great value with happy hour cocktails at night. All the staff very friendly and transport was available outside the main door. Highly recommended.

Great place to spend couple days at.

It's fairly decent for the price within the area. Few minutes tryke ride to Alona Beach so it's well within proximity to where the night life is. Very hot water in the shower (which doesn't help given the climate). Have raised many times but we were told it's been adjusted already. Vault wasn't working -- been raised as well but no fix at all. It is good value but had to check out a day early when we found another accommodation. We were given the wrong room upon check-in, luckily the guy inside wasn't naked at all (could've been worse). But didn't make a fuss out of it, human error happens at times. Overall, you get what you pay for. If you have the $$$ I'd recommend somewhere else, otherwise Roman Empire has its own character and charm if on a budget.

On arrival there was no one at the counter we had to go and find someone. The area outside the room was musty and smelt of drains, the shower only works for a matter of seconds before you have to hit the button again, it’s like a swimming pool shower. Cracked sink, the place is very tired. Night 2 saw a cockroach in the room which we chucked out the room and then on night 3 in bed there was a cockroach on the bed - horrific. Didn’t sleep spoke to reception and I said I wanted a refund for the last night and we would go and stay somewhere else which they said wasn’t possible as we booked through hotels.com - asked to move rooms then and they said fine and they would put us not on the ground floor and would put our bags in the new room. Arrived later in the day having been out all day only to be found we had literally been moved to the adjacent room. Complained and finally got put on the first floor. If there are cockroaches in the rooms there are cockroaches in the kitchen. Couldn’t wait to get out of there

Loved the massive pool! Also room was decent for the price. Restaurant staff were delightful and respectful

Highly recommend this hotel for a luxurious retreat with Roman flair. Can't wait to return

Nice clean hotel with a good pool. Staff really friendly and helpful. I’d stay again.

It’s nearby the airport but it takes 10mins via tricycle to go to Alona beach
The swimming pool is awesome
The resto food prices are a little pricey,

The large pool in the center of the hotel is very attractive. The dining area is very pleasant, staff is friendly and effecient and its only a short tricycle ride to Alona beach. The wifi is stable and strong.
The standard room is just adequate. The bathroom couldnt have been smaller. The shower has a water saving action that cuts off the flow every 10 seconds. Very annoying and the water is barely look warm.

Nice place and staff are friendly, place is clean and the food is great.
Mai-Mai our waitress everyday is super nice and friendly. Always there and always willing to serve with a good smile on her face all the time, very respectful.
Definitely coming back and refer to family and friends!

Properbly the worst service i have ever encountered. The frostdesk staff didnt have any knowledge and the cleaning was awful. The restaurant and bar staff was super friendly and the pool was great. Everything else was so poor - we wont go back.

Its not 5 Star, but an absolutely wonderful place where a family can have a lot of fun. Staff were great.

i like the pool which is adjacent to the room. The thing I hate , cats are roaming around the dining area. Tea and coffe is limited every breakfast

Pros:
- Close to Panglao airport
- Has amazing pool
- Delicious food at restaurant
- Friendly staff
- Aircon in room
- Parking available
Cons:
- No toiletries. There is a shampoo/body wash combo but no conditioner, or other toiletries a standard resort offers.

The staff members were so friendly and helpful. The pool is well kept and maintained.
I will stay at this hotel again and I will recommend it to my family members and fiends. :)

On pictures everything looks nice, but in real its often different. Check in was ok, the ladys friendly. The room was to the pool with balcony, as requested, but the walls and the connection door to the other room, was so thin, that you could hear everything your neighbor said or did. Very noisy in generel. The breakfast staff startet playing loud music at 6am when they arrived, 2 songs, but enough that the sleep was interrupted. Saturday evening there was some people having a party. That fine, i like partys as well, but i dont like that they are singing at screaming until 3am in the morning. When down to ask the reception for help, there was an old night guard, almost sleeping. He did not really understood, but i heard he was talking to the party people, but it did not really help. 2 nights spoiled.
The restaurant was so far ok. But very limited according to breakfast. Dinner was ok as well, but also very limited, but they at least tried to make it up to us and the food tastet good. Then they also should think about, that there are diabetics guests. They did not have any stuff for that.
All over, not the best stay, and i would rather pay more for an better place, then come again. The value of the stay does not fit the price for a maximum 2 star hotel.

I booked 5 days for this property for my family. They arrived after 11PM and no one was in the lobby . The guard was rude and unaccommodating even after knowing that they were so tired already. You cannot call anyone at this resort after 11PM. So if your flight arrives late this will be the worse place to go. I haven't received any word for my full refund. avoid this place

Great pool and friendly staff, free shuffle bus to the Beach and restaurants. The only bad thing was that the food could had been a Little bit better.

Brand new hotel. Looks nice. Have big pool and access to pool from 1st floor rooms balcony. Restaurant at medium price, have european menu items. Spa available. Rental bikes available. In room very good organized power outlets and light switches. Cleanness. Unfortunately, not everything is good. In my room problem with keycard sensor. I think, previous guests used paper for sealing keycard in holder. The staff sees this and does not even think about changing. There are only two contacts and two screws. I saw that in the evening one couple moved to another room. I think that because of these problems. The staff is all very young, seemingly no older than 20 years. It is evident that they are trying, but it turns out not so good. Therefore, the service is not high level. The bathroom is so small that if you stand facing the sink, you need to put one foot on the toilet. In the evening I saw a centipede on the floor in the room. Super economy shower, need push and hold button for water. If button pop-up, 5-10 seconds and water stopped. Only one keycard, only one breakfast coupon, inconvenient for two people. Cash only deposit. Located in no cellular coverage area. And hotel Wi-Fi has very weak signal power. In room no Wi-Fi near front door, only near balcony. Under construction, noise. Do not pay for this hotel a lot, buy only if you see big discounts. This hotel good for 1-2 days staying only.

I did discuss this review with management prior to my departure and they said they will address everything and covered my minibar charge - which was about 500 pesos for a 4 day stay, but I feel that is inadequate for the issues.
On the positive - it is a lovely pool and the location is very convenient to both the airport and Alona beach. There is great potential but the hotel is very new
On the negative
There is a long list of charges in your room - dirty the sheet, break a cup, break the shampoo bottle, leave a stain on the pillow, dirty a towel. Some of these just have to be expected at a hotel. I did not get charged for any but it felt like a set up.
There is wifi, but there's really not wifi. It's not good enough to send an email with an attachment.
The air conditioning in the room points straight at your head when you sleep - so you have this cold air blowing straight on you. You have to build a pillow fort to have the air con working so the room is cold but your face is not being blasted.
The shower is on a 7 second timer and only gives luke warm water. You have no control. You can't have a hot or cold shower, only luke warm.
The TV in my room worked for 3 hours in 3 days. I reported this 6 times.

Really nice hotel, I can recommend this to both couples, friends, families, older, younger. Fresh and modern with a friendly staff. Didn’t have so high expectations but I got overwhelmed when coming here, upon arrival you get free welcome drink and 20 minutes spa, it’s a nice guarded pool, it’s little expensive food compared to other restaurants in Philippines but also the best food I have got here. Great value for the money

This hotel is located at quiet place(far away from Alona beach) so hotel is really quiet. Also hotel has free shuttle bus between hotel and Alona beach, but sometimes this shuttle did not came to the beach when we tried to go back to the hotel. Foods of the restaurant were pretty good and cheap. The breakfast is not a buffet but has many kinds of dishes. The wifi has really slow...

AVOID this hotel. It is still UNDER CONSTRUCTION. A powerful SMELL of OPEN SEWERS kept filling our room. The NOISE from POWER DRILLS directly above and from GENERATORS and workers SHOUTING from behind a wall a few feet away made us want to leave as soon as possible. When I complained I was lied to; the smell is from sealant they said, and they offered us a free drink. When I spoke to the owner at the end of our stay he said he might be able to offer us a free stay next time, but he would have to speak with the other owners first. We've been back 4 days and heard nothing.
The room had no drawers, just a small hanging rack, so we had to live out of our suitcases. There is no phone. There is no room service. The free shuttle bus to Alona Beach does not start til 1030 - far too late, especially if we wanted to avoid the free breakfast which wasn't very good.
A perfectly awful end to our honeymoon.
I shall be demanding a full refund from Expedia. They should never have listed this hotel.
