The thermostat would not let us raise the temp. We slept in a cold room. Asked the front desk if it was normal and she said no. Didn’t accommodate us after that. The breakfast was great. Front desk person at night didn’t know where trash cans were so she led me to the furthest one. The room was decent. Over all upset about the coldness because my son had to sleep through it.

You will keep this one on your list of stays. Service is quality. Rooms are clean and neat. Breakfast is great. Quiet area. Easy access to freeway. Costco, restaurants and gas nearby. Beaches within short drive. A keeper.

It was a wonderful stay. So clean and they were constantly cleaning and staying on top of things. There was no noise it was peaceful and relaxing. As far as breakfast it was good. Had all the basic stuff. It’s been a great experience!

We enjoyed our couples stay here, tho we had no idea this was an extremely family friendly hotel as this place had children everywhere all the time. We felt bad for the workers since many of the families were leaving messes everywhere. The breakfast area was a little confusing and always very crowded our whole stay. Even tho it was free, one of the days - it was so crowded and so loud with no seating available - we decided to leave the hotel and go out for breakfast at the Broken Yolk which was a much better option for us. They didn't seem to have enough staff to manage everything required for so many people. The grounds are very nice and the parking very easy and convenient. It was louder in the evenings having a room facing the pool area. Overall it was good and we would stay again.

On Saturday Sept 28, at about 9pm, I called the hotel to say we would be late for check-in, and they told us that the room we reserved was not available. They had no more two queen bed rooms we had reserved, so they had prepared one king for us. We told them this was unacceptable because we had 5 people in our party. They told me they were fully booked and the single king bed was the only room available. We asked if they could change the reservation to another hotel, but they said they couldn't do anything because it was a third-party reservation. There were five people in our party and we had already booked and paid for two queens and a sofa bed. We asked to talk to the manager, and they called him, but he wouldn’t answer the phone. The woman at the front desk just said "there's nothing I can do." I tried to contact hotels.com, but couldn't get through to them at all. The front desk person said all they could do was give us bedding to make a bed on the floor. By now the kids were tired, so we were given an extra blanket and one adult had to sleep on the floor. It was the worst experience ever.

The picture that hotel doesn’t reflect what it actually looked like. The place was nice but not for the price that I paid. It is located conveniently to Legoland 7-8 mins away which was an added benefit for us. The pool was nice but small. The towels at the pool were too small and very poor quality. The breakfast was good. They had a variety to choose from. Furnishings were simple but not high end. We liked the mini kitchen with plates, silverware, full refrigerator, dish washer, coffee machine with coffee bean packets and teas. We also liked the Zero products supplied for hand, body, hair and conditioner.

The room and service to the room was good and pretty fast id say, the breakfast was just horrible, very inconvenient, they always ran out of hot food, plates and silverware, we had to wait and tell the servers to either bring something out or change the drinking fountain juice which was annoying, also the smell in the hotel is not the best ,especially on 2nd floor, Jacuzzi hot tub bubbles didnt work , had to ask the worker to go fix it, and they had some gas smell outside by the pool ...a bit disappointed..

We booked this hotel because of the high ratings and amazing review and we were not disappointed. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Our room was so clean! I am a huge germaphobe, so this was a huge plus for me. From the beds, to the tables, to the washroom, everything was pristine, neat, and extremely clean. We were on the first floor, which was very much appreciated since we have young kids. Thank you so much for making our stay at Carlsbad a memorable one. We would definitely recommend and rebook with Home2Suites again.

Room was spacious and clean but could use more decor and ambiance. Proximity to Legoland was exactly perfect for our family and the hotel offers a free shuttle service. Free breakfast was standard fare for Hilton properties but the plates and utensils could be better organized so you don't have to cut into line to get what you need. Elevator speed could be improved. Pool area was nice, but some chairs were quite dirty and could use a good wipe.

Clean, modern and great location. Easy access to Legoland. Staff was very nice and possibly understaffed as had to wait 90 minutes for additional towels. Kitchenette was a huge plus.

We were especially impressed w/Arthur who checked us in. He was helpful, concise,& knowledgeable as to the properties’ amenities. As a Senior citizen I really appreciated his respect to my spouse and to me.

Our problem was breakfast. We booked the hotel as the description stated a full breakfast. We went on vacation with our kids and wanted to make it easier and book a place with breakfast. All 4 mornings, starting Wednesday the lines were long not because of how much people there was, but the setup. All food was on one couner area along a wall even though the eating area had lots of counter space. Common sense for management would be to place items throughout the counters to not create this problem. Breakfast is 6-9am weekdays and 7-10am weekends. Wednesday we were there by 7:30am and there was already a long line. Things were where it didn't make sense. There was bread, toast, eggs, etc. along the counter but no one could access plates which were placed in the corner next to hot waffle machines, so if you didn't want waffles you had to wait for almost 30 minutes to access plates. The syrup which had to be poured was placed on a table somewhere else blocked each day by the long line. Utensils were in drawers under counters creating more chaos. It would make sense to have utensils at the end or beginning of the line or on a counter where people could easily see and grab. Each day they ran out of food and the people with plates would rush back creating more chaos and problems for folks waiting in line. They also ran out of utensils a few days, luckily I had brought extra plastic ones so we went and ate in our rooms. A lot of us complained about this to staff. Its an issue.
