Our stay at Avela was AMAZING!! This was our first trip to Sayulita and we fell in love! It was such a cute little beach town with such a laid back vibe.... You can literally forget about all your cares or worries, and just ENJOY your time there. And the Avela property is removed enough from the heart of town so that it is very quiet and peaceful, yet still within walking distance. They are literally able to take care of all of your needs there -- they have meal service, a great pool area, golf cart rentals, etc... Daniel was so friendly and accomodating. He helped with anything we needed, they even took care of our laundry needs for a very reasonable price, and offered additional services if needed (if you need a ride somewhere, they'll arrange it. If you want massages in your room, they'll arrange it, etc.) Breakfast each morning was a treat. We will definitely be back and recommend to others. Thank you again!!

We liked the staff and the pool area was nice. We were not happy when our room had no water three times. There was little space to store anything in the room. Our patio was totally useless and the location of the hotel was poor. We would not recommend this hotel.

Water was cut off a couple of times during our 4 night stay. Unfortunately these things happens but the pool area is very nice. Overall properly lacks personality a bit. The breakfast is too late at 8:30. Would be better if they at least offered coffees earlier than that. We went out to get coffee every morning. Not a bad place overall but the boutique is a bit of a stretch. The staff were lovely though and I can’t fault them for anything.

A great place to stay. Top notch staff who stayed in constant communication with us while we were dealing with a Flair Airline flight cancelation. One of best customer experiences I’ve ever had. Highly recommend this place for travellers who like a clean chill spot.

Perfect location, just a short walk from the madness. Very clean rooms, friendly staff and beautiful pool.

Positioned away from the noise of the main town, on a quite road. The staff are helpful, friendly. Easy walk to the action.
1) no bed side lights... only light in bedroom are two bright overhead lights, and you have to get out of bed and lean over the fridge to switch off or walk to the door. Staff said "well he thinks something is wrong because all the other rooms have bedside lights"
2). The safe - it's there, batteries were flat. Staff fiddled,, then said it was broken, I wasn't to worry because they had never had an incident. That's great, until something does happen, I asked if they could take care of my valuables, after realising I had quite a lot of cash, they declined. Note, upon leaving the hotel, the lock on the gate was sticking, rather a large, serious looking lock, and the gentlemen said yes... for security!
3). Room wasn't serviced... not sure if that was made clear in the listing, but It's kind of a minimum expectation in these "boutique" hotels.
4). Hot water, or rather NO hot water. Staff firstly explained that the hot water had to come from the other side of the hotel... you know... silly engineers. The amount of water that was wasted while we waited for the hot water (that never arrived) to arrive was criminal.
I have the feeling the staff KNOW about all these problems but continue to take bookings, and are providing less than promised. Pity... otherwise loads of potential.

I believe we were over charged. I paid $1723 Canadian Dollars for what was supposedly $1162 USD. I stayed in PV the following 4 days at a hotel basically the same price and was charged almost $200 less on my card. No hot water for 4 days and every time I asked about it I was told that everyone else had hot water. I wouldn’t stay here again. The property is off the beaten path. The price bothers me.

My husband and I stayed at this lovely hotel for almost two weeks and we did not want to leave!! We debated whether we should stay closer to the beach, but once we saw how loud it was in Sayulita we were so thankful for the peace and solitude of this hotel. It was the perfect respite after touring through the city all day. We would come back to the hotel at about 3:00 and just relax at the pool until evening. All of the other guests were friendly and respectful and from all over the world. The owners were extremely warm and friendly. Very professional and made sure that we had everything we needed. The food at the hotel is incredible! We ate breakfast at the hotel every morning and it was our favorite meal. The coffee is also delicious. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. I loved the private balcony and the huge showers. The entire facility is beautifully designed down to every last detail.
It was a short walk to the town and there was a small hill. I think the hotel has golf carts you can use as well. We actually loved the walk though and petting the little chihuahuas along the way. It was fun to be a part of the neighborhood. :)
They helped us set up a cab to the airport and for pickup. Just know that traffic from Puerta Vallarta is AWFUL so you may have to wait a bit for them to arrive. It’s worth the wait! We mistakenly cancelled when they weren’t at the airport and then paid way too much for the cab to Salyulita, just be patient, We HIGHLY recommend this hotel!

What a beautiful property! Far enough from town where you can get a quiet nights sleep but close enough to walk or golf cart to town. Erik the owner and his staff are simply the best. They went above and beyond for us everyday. Highly recommend Avela!

Nice new to look at but to stay in, it’s not as advertised. Sometimes you have water, sometimes you don’t, sometimes there is no hot water. Walls are paper thin and service is rather disappointing :)
On my last day I was charged extra $400 and since I got notification on my phone I was able to address it right away. Lady working said she needs help to solve it and ask me to leave because she’s on phone ( samples of many ) :).
No respond to emails regarding transactions arrangements from airport to hotel or questions regarding billing.

Been to Sayulita many times. This is the first time I stayed within the town and this little
hotel was perfect. Clean, amazing staff, great spacious rooms, 10 min walk to downtown, close by little stores, pharmacy, restaurants, zero noise and easy access to other parts of Riviera Nayarit. We're definitely going back and staying at Avela. Fully recommend this adorable hidden gem.

I had the most amazing time staying at Avela last week. The concierge Oscar was incredible, starting with the check in. We arrived earlier then the check in time and because they had the room available already he let us check in right away. Which was so nice after a long travel day! He gave us some tips for getting around town and told us all the best spots to check out for food and drinks in town! Our room was perfectly clean and the beds were a dream! Still wishing I could pack the whole bed in my suitcase to bring home with me. We were very lucky because it was a slow week at the Avela and we only had a couple other guests to share the entire property with. The hot tubs are set up on timers so they were only hot during the day. When we asked Oscar about it he made sure to turn them back on each night so that we could enjoy them before bed! Such a thoughtful touch! Both Oscar and JC were absolutely incredible hosts for the week, it felt like I was staying with a good friend not at a hotel. Which is something you dont get very often! I cant wait to come back to Sayulita and I will definitely be staying at Avela when I come Back!
