A little pricey but very nice.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND. THE ROOMS ARE NICE.

The rooms are a good size and the location is great. But I was unimpressed with the service. The staff seemed totally disinterested in being helpful or friendly.

Parking was not convenient. Had to park away from lodging on the street.

Crystal Bay and the Cal-Neva are under-resourced. Couldn’t even find a place to grab a cup of coffee in the morning. Had to drive a bit into very crowded Kings Beach.

The bed was really uncomfortable, very hard the carpet looks old and outdated. The vanity fell apart when I tried to open a drawer…the tub was not a jacuzzi tub and sits extremely high…not very easy to get in and out. Staff was very nice… rooms need updating…beds need to be replaced. It was very conveniently located for the concert and work the following day. Price was very high for how outdated rooms were:(

The shower didn’t work in the tub. Rm 1
But it’s a great place to stay. I have been many times

No hotel front desk. Had to walk thru casino to “players club” desk. Got locked out morning of checkout after being told we could checkout an hour later at noon. Had to walk thru smelly casino in a wet swimsuit after kayaking to be let back in to our room to gather our stuff to check out. Wi-Fi was awful. Casino is a good walk from hotel. They need a front desk — a real one.

Loved the big tub with JETS, the bed and pillows.
Expensive for what it was, but no complaints.
10.0 / 10.0
The room was spacious and nice. You have to check in inside the casino, which we didn't know. My only complaint was gaving to walk to the casino to get ice and the knob on the shower was very hard to turn. Otherwise, everything was perfect.

Comfortable, and quiet room/grounds.

It’s a cute, funky little hotel. The staff was very nice, our tv didn’t work but they did send someone up to fix it. Our only disappointment was that when my husband went to the casino/bar to get a coffee and Baileys, they didn’t open until 9;00 am, it’s not your typical casino! But all and all it was fine. Definitely not a 4-5 star

The room at the Borderhouse is in a very well taken care of, hundred year old building. Theres lots of history there including huge names like Sinatra, Monroe, Kennedy, etc. The accomodation and amenities were pretty much fantastic, aside from the jetted tub not working. Just keep in mind, the fireplace is in the wall between the room itself, and the bathtub area, so you can see straight through. Also there is no bathroom door. So just in case you're all about privacy, you will not find it here. It wasnt a problem for us. The beds are very comfortable, and the coffee was good. Green mountain coffee pods and a legit keurig. The people at the player's club (which is where you must check-in) are very friendly. Overall, I was impressed. It's in the middle of North Tahoe, so convenient to both King's Beach and Incline Village. Great room, great staff.

Good visit, won money

They nicely renovated an old wooden guest house of historic value. 4 rooms on the first floor. Modern fixtures, lighting, nice showers, rich wood trim. Only comments were: check-in was in Casino next door and inn was a mile from the village.

A very unique and charming place. Definitely recommend and will return next time we are in North Lake Tahoe.

A friend and I arrived to our 2 bed room to find no door on the bathroom and a view into the bathroom through the fireplace. This was not listed in property info and made us very uncomfortable as a pair of friends.

Very romantic. Great for couples. Room was small but cozy and comfortable. Great bathroom with a jet bathtub built for 2.

Overall a great experience, so I gave it 5 stars. Nice robes, towels, comfy beds, friendly staff. As a fellow business owner I would suggest three things. 1 Add sliding barndoors to the rooms instead of the curtain between the bedroom and bathroom. 2. Mark the light switches 3. Change the highend steakhouse to barfood and breakfast to match the casino and music venue. Food was amazing, but expensive.

Friendly efficient check in. Easy parking. Quiet, well appointed room
6.0 / 10.0
The rooms were large and beds comfortable. The bathroom was not stocked with supplies nor was the coffee maker unless you like Hazelnut Coffee... Its part of the adjacent casino and you have to find someone to help you. No food available. Adequate but lacking what you would normally expect. Feels a bit like walking into a building from the old west.

The TV didn’t work, neither did the volume so at night it didn’t turn off or turn done leading me to not be able to sleep. During the day the volume was too low to hear. The fan also made loud noises all day and night.

The room was fairly comfortable in an outdated charm, sort of way. The bathroom was fun with a slightly cringey led light equipped jet bath tub. Relaxing. The front desk staff at the casino who own the small hotel next door are just not very friendly and unwilling to provide helpful customer service. We decided to stay because hotels.com offered a better price. The casino was adamantly not willing to accommodate a military discount or upgrade any accommodations, like offering two beds after knowing we accidentally ordered one. They had plenty of other rooms. In truth, the hotel rooms were quaint, cute even. It’s the Casino staff and its smokey stench of an 80s throwback hangout for lonely slot machine enthusiasts, is the only problem. Hold your breath, pay for you room quickly, answer yes to their robotic questions and then go enjoy Lake Tahoe.

Cute and comfortable boutique hotel in a convenient location. Our only complaint is that you have to check in at the casino next door. No one was at the player's club desk so we had to hunt for an employee. He had to call for someone to come and check us in. Strange there is no front desk at the actual hotel. Other than that inconvenience, we had a nice stay.

The real stuff right? Good water pressure! Quiet area after sunset. Only suggestion would be a microwave.

A wonderful find! The house is beautiful, the rooms are large and very elegantly decorated and it’s quiet and has a rural feel despite being in the hub of things.

Its a great place to stay. Central location, close to the casino. I wish it had an ice machine on site.

Beautiful property and the room was gorgeous, better than I could have hoped for
8.0 / 10.0
Pros-Historic, spacious, nice bathroom and good location.
Cons-Dark, poor lighting in bedroom. Bathroom sink not draining, indoor and patio furniture as well as common areas very dusty. No instructions of any kind, phone does not access reception.
6.0 / 10.0
Upon check in, no one was monitoring reception. Had to summon the cashier to get someone...arrived 5 min. later.
Hallway leading to room smelled of beer. Dimly lit hallways, seedy kind of feel. Access / safety controls were up to date. Room was outdated and old, including carpet, fixtures, drapes, bathroom flooring, etc. Lighting in the room was inadequate, including the bathroom and mirror. Bedding and towels were clean. Other amenities were adequate and present (soaps, shampoo, dryer, coffee, etc.). Shower area was roomy and good shower head (probably due to disability access) Environment was quiet. Overall I felt like I was in a room which could have been in a crime scene drama. I wouldn't recommend.

First off the hotel staff was amazing
Now, before you stay here you must know the hotel is not connected to the casino. It’s in an odd “house” building around the corner
Our room was niceish, but the biggest thing was the bathroom didn’t have a door so if your sharing the room using the restroom is awkward.
Linens are clean
I did not see a ice machine either
Parking is very limited by the rooms, they do have a parking garage at the Casino, but again rooms are not connected to hotel, so it’s a short walk outside
Overall not the worst place to stay, but the few inconveniences might turn me away from staying again
Lake Tahoe is so amazing though!

Nothing to indicate that the check in was in the casino - unattached to the actual property. No directions or arrows to take you to the casino. Guests need to figure that out on their own. No staff at the front desk which added to the difficulty of the check in process.
The room was nice, clean and spacious

Location and decor outstanding.
