I was so impressed by Selina. By far the easiest check in and out that I have ever had at any hotel. The staff is so nice and helpful, location is walking distance from most places and the ferry. Would definitely stay here again.

The bar only offered 2 beers and after about a day, it was just 1. Both of which were extremely overpriced.
2.0 / 10.0
The rooms are too small, the air conditioning does not cool enough, you sweat in the room, the bathrooms are shared, the rooms do not have closets or tables, they do not give you shampoo or hair conditioner, there is no access to the beach in the hotel They don't even give you a bottle of water, the conditions are very austere, the pool is smaller than what you see in the photograph, personally I didn't like it.

Rooms are very old facilities.
Ac is loud.

The hostel was genuinely magical and so beautiful. Overall very clean, just very sandy ;) We stayed in a teepee and had a great time. The AC in the teepee was a lifesaver.
The hostel is a short walk from playa norte and the restaurants.

Great location, staff and vibes overall. The only thing is probably that there is only one washroom/shower in the dorm so it can take a while to line up.

Don't do the teepee on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday unless you're staying out until at least 3am. Otherwise, this place is great

The grounds are lovely but the rooms are small and smell like mold. Advertised as a hotel on hotels.com Selina is a hostel, not a hotel. The hostel did not get our reservation from hotels.com and blamed us and hotels.com for the issue. I had emailed the hostel a week prior to visiting to ask for an early check-in and they never responded. When searching for my reservation they came across the email and started acting a bit nicer.
We were put in a smaller private room with a shared bathroom as the larger room with a private bathroom that we reserved and paid for in advance was not available. I asked to be refunded the difference for the first night between the two rooms and was told I needed to contact hotels.com. Hotels.com was responsive, but could not get ahold of reception to confirm the room issue and as a result could not issue a refund. I told the front desk that hotels.com was trying to reach them and they said they did not have a phone, only WhatsApp. Be warned, hotels.com cannot reach Selina if there is an issue with your booking. If you book this place through hotels.com I highly recommend paying at the hotel versus paying in advance.
Overall I thought it was a bit pricey for what you get.

Worst part was between 10pm and 6am when sleeping was not possible. This is a night club with rooms! Not a hotel, let alone suitable for families. We booked the “family room” and I’m so exhausted after three nights of being kept awake all night with the party.
The pool was a glorified foot wash station. You couldn’t see your leg while in the pool let alone the bottom. It was disgusting.
They said they couldn’t call us a taxi upon check out. As they didn’t have a phone.

The place is beautiful, probably the prettiest in the area. Love the pool and the area around. The kitchen was so big but the utensils not so great. Separate cutting boards for different things would be better. Air Con was ok some days but one day wasn't working properly and one day it was working properly but it was super loud.
The cleaning was done very late in the day. Room was not that small as advertised.

Ambience and vibe. Poorly designed bunkies with lockers inside that are obstructive to sleeping. Cool vibe and facilities.

Nice , quite, clean good location

We stayed in a suite which was quite rustic but with a good ocean vibe. Could use a few repairs around the shower and sofa steam cleaned. The kitchenette was a great surprise. The little fridge did an awesome job keeping the sodas cold. They could offer more free water than just the first day. Overall, was a wonderfully pleasant place, excellent location to beach and restaurants. Would stay there again!

I was hesitant to book because of other reviews but I was extremely surprised by how cute the place is. It was clean and staff very welcoming. Plus it has everything you need within the property and outside. The location is perfect and I wish I would have stayed longer.

Amazing staff. Only housekeeping workers are a bit rude sometimes!

I tried contacting the property for check in/app issues and did not receive a response until the night of my first stay.
I tried several times to contact Selina through the application chat, e-mail and phone calls and was unable to get through.
The room that was assigned to me was absolutely not what was advertised.
The room was extremely humid and damp there was a water leak in n The washroom leaving a puddle of water. For 2 days there was no water supply. I had to Leave to the airport not being able to shower after the beach . For an unjustifiable $265 a night ;(((

Great stay I just didn’t like that they didn’t have clean towels disposable. I didn’t have anyone come clean my room per my request so I asked the front desk for clean towels and they said they were out. The room was clean but you could smell the sewage.

They changed my standard room without a notice when I checked in thats when I was told and when I talked to the girl in the from about it she didn’t pay much attention I paid for standard so I didn’t have to share restrooms that really upset me! But besides that it was good

Excellent value for the price and an unbeatable location, pretty close to north beach, restaurants and shops. We faced booking issues, we booked a room that’s was not available, the hotel recommends using their website and blamed the booking platform. Cleanliness, particularly in bathrooms, needs improvement. Thin walls in rooms affect privacy. Despite being oceanfront, beach access is restricted, and swimming is not permitted. The kitchen is decent but would benefit from better utensils, appliances, and improved fridge cleanliness.
We enjoyed complimentary morning yoga, they also offer engaging activities like dance lessons and arts and crafts—definitely a perk. However, be aware of loud weekend parties near the restaurant area, affecting the peace of nearby rooms. If noise is a concern, consider requesting a quieter room away from the party zone.

Left without even staying one night. My bunk was not safe 19 C - ladder unsafe. Bunk like a tomb-a fan only poor working A/C in next room and 7 guys with one old lady!
The manager could have given me a lower bunk, but obviously felt stigmatized due to my older age.
No orientation so was in a lower bunk then had to move out. I tried to talk to Expedia, no way to do it from Mexico. This is the last Selina from Expedia. Like Selina, but this room and bunk was very unsafe. I am active at 66 but felt not welcome- It was so hot and tomb like.
Sincerely I am out 356 USD for other places to stay plus the three nights at Selna !!!

This hostel was very poor and below average. Our room was dirty with filthy floors and the drain had a terrible smell filling the entire room. You should note there is a club here which went until 3am every morning with thumping base so we got next to no sleep. If you are looking for a party, you should stay somewhere else and then go to the hostel for the party - otherwise you will spend your whole time in Isle with no sleep.

This is indeed a great Hostel with the beach feeling we were looking for. We traveled with our 2 kids and got the family room which is perfect for our family of 4.and our dog. The facilities and hostel are really well.mantained and the staff is very firendly. The location to north beach is perfect, 5 mins walking distance and very convenient to downtown main street with restaurants and bars. I highly recommend this hostel and we will be back.

We paid for air conditioning- but we couldn’t find the remote control - we came back to this hotel at 11:30 pm - bouncer at the front door was attacked by more clients questioned about more hotel issues and the poor guy couldn’t answer them because he was unknowledgeable about it.
It is not he’s fault but the responsible ones are not providing him with the details and after about 2 hours of waiting the front desk guy finally got the A/C to work
The property was decent. I believe clients have to be patient and work things out together with management.
Other than that… North beach's close by and very convenient.

Great location. Great amenities. Gorgeous estate.
Paper thin walls with no sound insualtion. When disco ends at 2am and then crowd disperses making noise along hallways and courtyard and then house keeping brooming along your wall at 630am it leaves little time for true rest.
Not ONE other hotel in my almost 50 years has provided ear buds as an ammenity.... so u know this is a problem. Why not be MORE transparent on this upfront versus trying to fix it onsight with earbuds?
I am very ok with their business model but they are not letting new clients know how loud and party like it can be.
Doesn't seem fair when planning travel. Some people hile and walk and scuba and hit bed by 10. Same wanna dance til 2am.

I wasn’t very happy with my stay. Once you arrive you have to pay $500 pesos for the beach, since supposedly they clean it everyday. However, you can’t even swim in that side of the beach. You have to walk about 5 mins to Playa Norte. Which isn’t bad, but why would I have to pay for the side of the beach I can’t even swim at. Plus there is a lot of seaweed and the smell is disgusting. You have to go outside of the hotel for that side of the beach as well, they are red flags there that’s why you can’t swim. Which I understand but I shouldn’t have to pay for an unholy view. The pool is dirty, they never clean it. If you buy beer and you are going to drink it right away but you just want it in the freezer for 2 minutes while being in the kitchen, they will take it away from you because you can’t have alcoholic beverages in the freezer. They are very strict but not so clean. They also don’t clean the rooms very well.

We found rodent feces on the bed when we first checked in.. and tjere was no beach access, a feature we were really expecting, it was all fenced off. The party nights were too crazy, even with earplugs, your room vibrated and heard everything. Staff were very nice. Check in was an extremely long process. The arsthetic is very cool.

I would’ve rated the property higher because of the cool amenities but the staff was rude and the washrooms were dirty… I don’t think it’s worth the price because of this. Loved the pool area though and the location was pretty accessible.

Could be awesome place! But why play club music almost every night? I stayed in teepee tent which was cool experience and the grounds are unique. I realize lot young backpackers come here but do the need club music pounding base till 230am 5 nights a week? Place should find different entertainment maybe just techno twice week?

I loved feeling the breeze at the morning workouts by the beach. I also like that they have the choice to rent a teepee, a private room or a shared room.

This place is a must, wonderful people, so much to do!! Great location, short walk from everywhere. Definitely the place to make life long friends!! Will be back hopefully in the next month!! Much love for this place.
