The hotel was clean, quiet and uniquely retro. Hotel is within walking distance of downtown and the harbour. We enjoyed our stay.
4.0 / 5.0
It's a very quiet and peaceful area, overall very comfortable night stay if you don't mind the noisy AC or the advertised "queen size" bed is actually double. I would say the quality is worthy of the price

The room was quite small, and as it was only my five year old and myself, it was fine.
Everything was unplugged except for the TV, including the mini fridge and lights. Whether that’s planned (for eco purposes) I don’t know, but it’s the first time I’ve ever encountered that.
The light above the bed didn’t work. The AC was extraordinarily loud, though that could be because of the overall size of the room. There were two odd “doors” as windows that opened underneath the window, one of which had a garbage bag taped on.
The bed was comfy. The TV kept me in a YTV loop, every channel somehow defaulted to YTV. Wifi was garbage, it was very slow in between the constant cutting out.
The lady at the front desk was friendly enough and check in was a breeze.
I’d probably stay again with my kid, as it wasn’t a terrible experience, and we were only there to sleep, but if I were traveling with my girlfriend, I don’t think we’d stay here.

I phoned the day prior to explain we might be late checking in and was told I HAD to be there by 10 pm.
Someone was smoking marijuana and there was a very strong odour of it in the main lobby. I realize it is legal and this was a non smoking motel, but was glad it wasn't in our room, which was close to the entrance.

Untidy rooms, pillows and blankets. Rooms had a bad smell. Ac's turn off on it's own at the middle of night. Fans turns off upon turning off lights, making it very difficult to sleep in dark.

Lighting not good. No coffee machine in room. But the room was clean and neat.

Not satisfied with the room provided. We booked a room with couch for 4 people, however when we reached got different room.
Also when we shared picture with the hotel booking team they suggested you booked a room without couch.not sure what went wrong
At night some one broke a main door glass as well. We felt unsafe entire night

It may be older in furnishings and decor, but the bedsheets and towels were totally white,
and the bathroom very clean! Those are the most important things to me!
Staff is extremely friendly and helpful to guests!

I really liked the Mariner. Its was not anything fancy, but it was clean, the staff was friendly and more than willing to offer additional services & options.
Was quiet & comfortable. Exactly what I was looking for.

Probably was very dated and needed repairs, but given its age and appearance it was clean and comfortable. Will not stay again due to the lack of service and conveniences.

The property was right out of the movie era back in 40-50 -just a tad outdated. Unable to turn heat on as thermostat may havebeen busted or the the central heating plant was still off.

Rooms function well enough for a last-minute stay, but the price is still a bit high for the quality of the rooms. It was all yellow.

Quick check in, helpful advice on local attractions
1.0 / 5.0
The door to the room can not be locked from inside.
I spotted some insects ( not spider )
The mattress is old (spring style)
The sheet on the bed was not ironed (nor sure if someone slept on it and was not changed)
The pillow smells (looks like it was washed month ago and not been used since) No freshness smell

Some update will be nice. Better and more comfortable beds. Definitely the smell in the room needs big time attention. Towels and toiletries should be more presentable.

Disgusting! I don't know where to start...arrived in room to find a USED CONDOM at the foot of the bed. Told the desk manager...he came to the room I told him where the condom was..he looked everywhere but the place I told him even though it was in pretty clear view as if he was playing a game! Finally he looked at the condom and said "oh it's just garbage" and basically brushed my concerns off! We should've just left there and then but didn’t have any other available options. Upon further inspection there were stains on the sheets and towels, (we requested clean sheets but never received them) hair (that was not ours) thick dust on the window blinds, cobwebs...need i go on? We checked out a night early, telling the desk manager our concerns and reasons for leaving...all he said was that it was our choice to leave and did not offer any compensation. If I could give zero/5 rating I would.
