From Dahia, Erica the Assistant & Housekeeping, Vero to meeting GM Ivan, I love this place. Accommodations & amenities were well done!
I enjoyed eating complimentary basic breakfast outdoors on the terrace garden patio & discovered the hidden Buddha set back in the garden. How beautiful and amazing!

Small friendly hotel with super location. Near bus stop, taxi stand, lake, shopping, etc. If you stay here you don’t need to rent a car. Lovely rooms, super clean, nice breakfast included. You won’t regret your stay here!

Everything was excellent except for the AC in the room. It wasn’t efficient for the size of the room and it didn’t stay cool especially at night.

There is no pool, I would have liked a pool. There was no one available at check out. The garden area was nice and the room was nice. I would stay here again if in Chapala.

Room was very clean, and I loved that it had A/C because we stayed in May it was hot outside. Slept very comfortably because the A/C was very fresh. Took a shower, loved that the shower had a lot of water pressure. Staff was very very friendly while we were checking in it was hot outside they offered cold water and gave my husband a cold beer. Only thing is I booked on Expedia.com paid for the room, but apparently you can’t pay thru Expedia.com only in person. They were nice enough to let me log onto my credit card that I used to book the hotel, yes they were right it didn’t take my payment. So be aware you can only pay at the hotel. I would definitely stay there again. Great location very close walk to the pier, shopping and restaurants. Loved it

We loved the garden and the room was quite a comfortable size. We enjoyed the free breakfast, with several choices from the menu (which often included slices of avocados from the tree in the garden!
You will be only steps away from San Francisco church, Chapala Lake, restaurants, and bars.
But you should be aware there are many, many steps to just to get to the check-in area, and more to get to your room. The front of the hotel faces the main street and the plaza / mercado, both providing a lot of noise, especially on Sunday evenings. Specify a room near the garden for a quieter experience.

This is an amazing hotel! My daughter and I spent our few days in Chapala in its garden and on the lakefront. Never have I found it so difficult to leave.
The facility is world class, the staff is attentive and kind, and breakfast is high end restaurant quality. That garden is something which will haunt me forever.
If you visit the lake and fail to stay here, you messed up.
Now I go back to Wisconsin crying.

The room at the hotel didn't have a window, it was a dark and stuffie. I asked the receptionist if I could have a room with a window and she replied that it would cost me more and if i wanted to update it, I had to reach out Expedia to cancel the reservation. For a minimal change, it seems to me that it was a bureaucratic process--- to change the status of my room. Additionally, visits are not allow by hotel's policies--- that was quite antiquated. I ended up checking out two hours later. The front desk told that they could do the charge without reaching Expedia but i declined politely. I absolutely don't recommend this hotel...if i were the owner of the hotel, I wouldn't be selling a windowsless room.

The Area of the hotel is located right in the middle of the town. Very convenient to the restaurants and where the locals sell their trinkets, shoes, clothes and other items. The breakfast which was included was delicious and very nice area to sit and enjoy. The staff is very friendly and always someone there to assist you in any questions you may have. Really enjoyed our stay here in Chapala at Plaza Hotel. Gracias Sandra & Ernest Herrera

This hotel is just a block from the lake with easy access to the entire town. The hotel is beautiful and clean and the staff are very helpful. I will try to always stay here whenever in the area. The room had a great air conditioner, the shower was hot the only complaint I had was that even though the bed had a pillow topper the bed was to firm for my taste.
