Parking is costly.
Poorly supplied: only one coffee cup in room; fitness center not stocked with towels or water cups.

Second time we stayed here. Great downtown location and view of Ohio river, trains, and the incline - very Pittsburgh! Service was good (no wash cloths?) but otherwise staff was friendly, service was good. We will come back.

Our room in the hotel we had wanted was canceled due to “technical “ problem, so our reservation was changed to a cheaper hotel at their expense for the first night. They were helpful in regards to finding another room for us in town during the Steeler’s first game. Although we were inconvenienced by the re packing our suitcases twice for a 3 night trip!!

It was a beautiful hotel and incredibly convenient for anything downtown. It was a great value and I really enjoyed the architecture of the building. The staff were very good and despite having some technical difficulties, checking in and checking out very easy.

Really enjoyed the hotel and our room. We asked for a view and they delivered by giving us a room on the 16th floor with a view of the river. The area around the hotel did feel a little sketchy at times but it bothered my partner more than me and I feel was also reflected in the price, compared to the Monoco which was a 10 minute walk away.

This hotel is very central to so many things in the city of Pittsburgh. We walked to PNC stadium and PPG Arena, and there are many good restaurants around, plus a great park and walking trails along the river. The room was very well designed, and the bed was very comfortable.

We had a wonderful stay. The staff were great and room was outstanding!!

Loved the look of the property, there was a bit of water leaking, but that's expected from an old building. Staff were very knowledgeable and helpful.

Top notch hotel in downtown Pittsburgh. My wife and I stayed one night and wanted a different “vibe,” and this hotel did not disappoint. The service was excellent and the staff went out of their way to help us check in before the standard 4:00pm check in time. The hotel is in walking distance to all major down town attractions. We loved the decor and amenities.

Selected this property for its location and cool factor. It’s a renovated space with a very unique and cool design. However the layout is very weird when entering and leaving. Never got to experience the F&B amenities because they are not located on what would normally be the lobby floor. Overall great stay.

Just a quick trip to Pittsburgh for a mini-reunion of sorts. Lovely spot to stay and the bar downstairs had great cocktails for a nightcap. Recommend!

The restaurant was supposed to open at 7. The server was late…. So it just stayed closed. No manager went down to try to help…. Customers who paid for breakfast sat there until they had to leave.

Filthy bathroom. Hair in the shower. Shower glass door is shattered at the bottom corner and is very dangerous if your feet are near this. Very dirty toilet area.
I can’t.
Very disappointing experience. No one was to be found at reception area.
Glad to have left early next morning.

We were in town on business for my husband. The building is very nice and I appreciated the style of the restaurant and lobby spaces. The rooms however were very dark, especially the bathroom area. I felt like I was in a cheesy bachelor pad. I hated that the bathroom door didn't close (just a sliding door that didn't even slide shut all the way). The darkness felt dirty and the shower water came out in a sharp stream with no way to change the setting. It kind of hurt. I don't believe we had any hand soap which was pretty gross too. The TV was nice but the welcome message was creepy because it had my name on it. Other than that. the bed was really comfortable and we slept very well. The only other thing that I would mention is that the check in process took way longer than it should have. We were 1 of several groups in line and the staff member took forever talking with the couple in front of us. They had a ton of questions about what to do during their stay and it would have been courteous to let others check in and then ask and answer the long list of questions. After driving a long time, we just wanted to get to our room and rest a moment before we had to work.

The room was beautiful and clean.
Did not like the pillows. They were all too big.

Bathroom felt a little dirty and faucet would leak all over the counters. Staff was nice and check in was easy.

A lovely atmosphere in a historic building. Friendly helpful staff and a really great restaurant downstairs. Beautiful and well appointed room and bathroom. Everything we needed. Really loved the dark decor in the room and bathroom.

If you want daily housekeeping this is not the hotel for you We were assured on check in and each morning that we would have housekeeping but both nights we returned to our hotel to find out our room hadn’t been attended to. Very disappointing.

The bed was hard and uncomfortable other then that I enjoyed my stay.

A beautiful hotel in a historic building, with its cultural integrity intact. I arrived early and my room was ready, which made settling in my first day a breeze. Comfortable bed and pillows, sleek shower with hot water and pressure aplenty, great city view toward the Duquesne Incline, especially at night. It was a convenient walk to dinner and Heinz Hall, and having dining options, a pleasant mike walk to the Warhol Museum and Strip District.

Even though we were only there for a night, everything was great, the only suggestion we would make, is offer a couple options for pillows, as the ones provided were not comfortable for what we are used to.

The location, on paper, is great. The hotel is a couple of blocks from the market square and many bars. But, with construction everywhere, it was hard to enjoy it

Newlywed couple here; had a great stay at The Industrialist Hotel in Pittsburgh.
I travel for work and we are "owners" in Hilton Grand Vacations, so I/we've been in our share of hotels. I read a ton of reviews re: The Industrialist prior to booking, and to be honest, I was a bit nervous. The main complaints seemed to be the area, the service, and size of the rooms. I was most nervous about the bathrooms with no doors separating the toilet from the room. Needless to say, all was good.
First, we had great service during our stay, from the valet employees to the front desk attendants; they were all cheerful and guest-focused, which makes all the difference.
Secondly, I called ahead and asked about the difference between a King room and 2 Queen room, which is a 1/3 bigger than a King. The receptionist quickly recommended the Double Queen. I actually like this setup as a solo traveler or as a couple, because the bed you don't sleep in makes a great place for your suitcases.
The bathroom in 2 Queen room we were in had a sliding pocket door that closes for privacy; when I called, the front desk attendant told me some King rooms do not, so check on this if you're traveling with someone else.
Other than that, really beautiful little hotel. Location is good. It's downtown PGH, you're going to have homeless around, it's not the hotel's fault. It was pricey but overall, I'd stay here again over the other higher-end hotels downtown.

The property over all was a nice place. The advertisement and pictures tell a false reality. We had a King size corner room. The bed was not a true king size bed. My husbands feet hung over the bed and he’s 6’4. You could not walk around the room if another person was standing. I called guest services at 0800 and asked for extra towels and wash clothes. They never showed. When we returned at 11pm I had to call customer service again to request wash clothes. They finally brought them the next morning.
We honestly love the Autograph Collections this is the worst we have ever stayed in & will never stay here again.

The staff was extremely kind. The hotel itself is in a perfect location within walking distance to many places to eat and bars. The room was clean and the views were amazing.

Beautiful hotel and room. Little bit noisy if you have a corner room because of street activity but other than that it’s excellent

Easy walk to the stadium. Great restaurant and bar. Very cool building.

Valet was very helpful. Restaurant was decent but not great. Good vibe but food was nothing special. Hotel is beautiful and I love the interesting decor at most of the Autograph hotels and this was no exception. But the hotel room needed a good cleaning. The surfaces were dusty and there was a spill of maybe wine or coffee down the front of the bedside table. The carpet needed to be vacuumed desperately. It was a great room. Very cute. We had a sitting area with a velvet chaise/couch that gave us more space to hang out. The AC wasn’t really doing much to cool down the stuffiness of the room and was extremely loud.

Pricing was pretty steep but it was worth it. The room was clean, cozy and we really enjoyed it. Wouldn’t go anywhere else in the area.
6.0 / 10.0
Average room and very dark
3.0 / 10.0
Unfortunate lack of attention to detail. No hand soap in the room, free coffee pods but only decaf. Did not replace used coffee cups or pods. Housekeeping left used towels on shower floor.
