We had an awful sleep, our room smelled so badly that it triggered an asthmatic attack for the two of us! The staff couldn’t move us because they were fully booked. They swore that all rooms are non-smoking but the smell was so bad and strong that they surely have a problem. We definitely over paid for the quality received, we will never go back. We are exhausted and stressed because of our lack of sleep. The staff was friendly enough but they just couldn’t address a huge issue with the state of their hotel room.

This was our first stay at this hotel and we’re pleasantly surprised. The hotel was clean with comfortable room of modern design. The staff was very welcoming, hospitable and helpful with all our requests. The hotel is conveniently located on in a quiet yet central neighbourhood. The breakfast was a generous buffet and the rooftop lounge provides a perfect end to the day with a view of the Acropolis in the distance. Next time we are in Athens we will definitely be returning to this hotel.

Spectacular hotel that created a memorable stay. Great breakfast spread with hot items that are made to order. Great vibes in the room with mostly black and brass decor and comfortable mattresses. Excellent room service. Excellent friendly staff who were always available to help and answer questions. I would pick this hotel again whenever I have to stay in Athens.

Well appointed hotel in a wonderful spot. Our room was spacious and clean and had a balcony with a beautiful view including the Acropolis. Service was impeccable and every person we interacted with was very pleasant and helpful. Recommend highly and looking forward to returning.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Modernist and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive. The room was immaculate, beautifully decorated, and offered a stunning view. Every detail, from the luxurious bedding to the thoughtful amenities, contributed to an incredibly comfortable stay. The hotel's location is perfect—close to major attractions yet peaceful enough to provide a relaxing retreat. I would highly recommend staying here.

Only there for 1 night but it couldn’t have been a better experience. Stayed in Athens for an additional day after a 7-night Mediterranean cruise. Front desk was top-notch in helping secure our luggage until our room was ready. Upon our return from sight-seeing later that night the staff was great at getting us settled into our room. Room was clean, comfortable, and stylish. Free breakfast was just fine. Not huge spread but enough to adequately satisfy. Upon learning our flight back to the US had been cancelled, again the staff was phenomenal at reassuring us they would accommodate us additional nights if needed although we ended up not needing it. Also after getting our bearings of the area, we realized the location of the hotel was excellent and in walking distance to the main dining and shopping areas and the hop on- hop off bus. Highly recommend

I can’t say enough good things about this boutique hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful, rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great. Location was awesome for someone who doesn’t want to be in the tourist chaos. You can grab a cab for 5 min to take you to the center if you don’t feel like walking. The Kolonaki area is super cute, with restaurants, bars and shops that you don’t want to leave and go to the center anyways.

Loved this property. Very close to a train station and to restaurants and shops. Breakfast was included and was excellent Lots of events planned at the hotel and the staff were warm and knowlegeable. I traveled there with teens and felt safe letting them leave the hotel and take the train without us. We had the family room and it accommodated the 4 of us quite well. We would stay there again

This hotel was beyond our expectations. The staff was friendly and went out of its way to please you. Nina, went above and beyond to recommend things to do and restaurants to try. I will definitely be back at the Midernist. In my opinion it’s the best hotel in Athens.

We stayed at the Modernist Athens for 2 nights and had an overall very pleasant experience. The room was clean, the staff was friendly, the location was close by restaurants and shops, and across the street from the Metro. It was a quick taxi ride away from many of the major destinations, like museums and the Acropolis. We also thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast, which was included. There was a vast array of pastries, yogurt, toppings, and some menu options as well that were made-to-order. The only complaints that I have were (1) We stayed in the Deluxe Room with two Balconies and there were no bathrobes or slippers. It's not a deal breaker by any means, but this is pretty standard in most 4-star hotels, so I was surprised when I did not see this. (2) This is something that I've never complained about in all my years traveling, but the toilet paper in the hotel was rough, like sandpaper. We decided to purchase our own toilet paper and even the basic economy version that we got from the local drug store was softer than what the hotel was using. These complaints are very minor and overall did not diminish our experience, but it would certainly elevate the experience if these small details were considered. We were very pleased with our stay.
