Beautiful location! The hotel room itself is a little older and there was no robes or ironing board, just the basics. Bed was a little hard but for one night it was fine. I wouldn’t stay longer than 2 nights.

This is a gorgeous remote hotel with breathtaking views of the Douro valley. It is beautiful and modern and the room was exceptional. We particularly enjoyed the wine making tour and tasting. Would highly recommend for a relaxing getaway to the Douro region.

Everything was great except the mattress had some sort of plastic to it hat made it both uncomfortable and noisy when you move.
The restaurant, the view, and pool area were wonderful

Incredible views. Incredible wine tour. Excellent and lovely staff. Wish I had arrived earlier to take advantage of the pool. Wish they had a hot tub.

Great location with outstanding views!

Dinner restaurant closed Monday/Tuesday. Closest decent restaurant 20 minutes away by car. Breakfast buffet was ok, terrrible coffee, omelet service was spotty.

Extraordinary views from our room, restaurants and the pool. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great every morning.

View of the river breath talking.

The room smelled of sewage from the shower. The food at the gourmet restaurant was too salty.

Poor service.40 steps to get to your room with no help
No parking space available at arrival
Limited space at the restaurant didn’t allow us to dine before 9 pm
So sad while the spot is great

Amazing suite with stunning views! Great food!

Beautiful views of the Douro Valley. This could be easily a 5 star hotels if they had a gym, spa and better in room personal care amenities. The breakfast was a bit blend, but a fair selection for everyone.

They mixed up our dinner reservation so we went to the buffet which was overpriced and poor quality. Our room was not ready on arrival at 4 pm. They put us in a room with twin beds although we had requested a double bed more than 6 months ago. The road is very steep and washing out. Beautiful views, but very disappointed considering the price of this reservation.

Beautiful property, fantastic views, great location. Highly recommendable unless you can't do stairs. It's 7 levels with no elevator.
5.0
This is a very nice property and our room was adequate. It is on several levels, which makes walking difficult. The view would normally be gorgeous but we had the misfortune of a rainy day. Certainly not the hotels fault. There was confusion on check-in though and the staff needs a little further instruction. They all seemed very confused. Overall a very nice hotel. I also really enjoyed the tour of the wine cellar.

This property is beautiful and was a lovely stay. there were a few things that I did not like. The property is steep amd yoyneed to take the stairs to get everyWhere. there were almost no amenities like tissue paper, Iron, slippers, bathrobe. the toilet area was also not private. The worst part was thr buffet for both dinner and breakfast. its not that tje food was bad but everything was cold amd we were the first ones in the restaurant.

Rooms are not easily accessible. Same w the restaurant. No valet service.

Fantastic view on the Douro Valley, large number of rooms and hosts sometimes too noisy, parking not close but it is on a hill side. Dinner not so exiting but employers were all very kind and helpfull

Vey difficult mobility with mots of stairs steps and no ownership on taking guest’s lugagges. Should have a golf cart or builf smotth ramps instrad or rocky ramps.

This was without doubt the worst stay of our 8 hotel tour around Portugal. Although the staff work really hard to make things as good as possible, the hotel is fundamentally bad. Our room (suite) was really smelly, it was as though there was an open sewer in either the toilet or shower area. There were huge deep scratches in the flooring. The toilet cubicle door did not shut fully, offering no privacy. Only 1/2 of the lights in the bedroom worked and could not be fixed during our stay.
The bed/bedding itself was also the worst quality of our week long stay. The bed was hard and had a waterproof topper immediately below the thin sheet - making for a sweaty sticky nights sleep. The pillows are very low quality, cheap high fill polyester or similar. All pillows seemed the same, so no choice available.
The site itself was well maintained but again, seemed to miss the mark. Everything is pretty much served in the dining room. The bar was shut.
The hotel is part of a larger corporate chain. There are no paper menus or information available but instead guests are referred to some horrendous app - as if people want to stare at smartphones constantly on holiday! The menus in the app are confusing and hard to navigate (the app contains menus and info for the whole hotel chain).
Dinner buffet was good (when it opened at 1900). Breakfast was disappointing, bad coffee, juice from concentrate; the omelettes were the saving grace.
Avoid the place at all costs

Amazing views once you get to the property. The road to the property is not for the faint of heart.

Excelent location on top of the mountain, with breathtaking view of the
Douro river. Friendly staff, great amenities, great food, wine, and olive oil. They also have their own wineries. They showed us their wine production system, and storage cellars. Unbelievable experience. We will be back !

Site, service and staff was perfect. It's too bad the restaurant at this resort serves only buffet for dinners, otherwise it would be a perfect score
1.5
I’ll start with the good parts… the pool areas/ pool views and views from the room… amazing! Staff at front desk were also very nice. Otherwise some serious issues with the restaurant staff almost ruined the trip and we were not alone. Other customers were also clearly upset. This wasn’t even just bad Portuguese service, it was no service. We just wanted a glass of wine at the hotel restaurant after our long drive (we did tell the front of house staff). We left and drove 15 mins into Pinhau instead for a late lunch and picked up our own things for dinner in the room from the town. Lovely to sit outside on the balcony at night though.
The bathroom toilet room has a glass door that didn’t really close and you can hear everything in the bathroom.. so no privacy.
You can’t turn off the outdoor light on the patio so that was annoying too.
No cofffee machine or even a kettle in the room. The only place Ive stayed on my trip without one.
We couldn’t get in for a wine tasting even for hotel guests and then couldn’t get served on the patio.
Finally the restaurant is like a cafeteria. Lots of hard surfaces. Noisy.
Good breakfast. Lots of options.
Hanging by the pool was lovely but its not heated so we didn’t go in.
Thankfully we only stayed one night. I wouldn’t be back.

Location, outstanding view from the pool area. Very good service, attentive staff.

did not like the diner as cafeteria style and was over priced. food was not that good. many items cold

Amazing views of the vineyards and river, great food and incredible service.
However, the hilltop location (serviced by MANY stairs) might not be so friendly for those with mobility issues.

Dirty pool, terrible breakfast
4.0
Rooms are quite nice and all seem to have incredible views with a large window over looking the river. Views from around the property and amazing and the grounds are very well maintained.
The only down side would be the service and hours of amenities. We got to the hotel at 3:30 (check in 3:00) and were informed the last wine tasting available was 4:30… and it was full. No pool bar was open when we arrived because “it had rained in the morning” so if you wanted a drink you needed to go all the way to the restaurant and they were not well equipped to service those orders. They also would not bring it out to you you had to wait, so it was about a 20 minute experience to get a poolside beer or wine.
A La carts restaurant is now a buffet and it is not very good and somewhat expensive.
All things considered I would stay here again for the views alone, but the service and amenities were very disappointing.

Fabulous views, great pool. Very hilly. Room was a bit small.

The view from the property is spectacular, the breakfast was basic as for dining was not worth the money we paid the food was basic.

Stunning View from our room and around the property
Amazing swimming pools
We got lost on arrival to the hotel . The manager helped us - drove our car down a track like a pro ! We are very thankful. He really saved us.
The lady is the pool bar is very kind and gave a great service.
Disliked:
Half board package - Breakfast - instant coffee only , service very slow, poor range of food. Dinner- lovely to sit on the terrance but lot of wasps, range of food was limited and hot food was served luke warm
I tried to book a spa treatment before I arrived- email comms very vague . When I arrived there was no treatments available until a week after we left.
Points to note:
This is very remote you can;t walk to anywhere from the hotel.
On paper it looks close to town but due the road and landscape it is a lot longer than you think/
There is no lift - if you struggle with steps - this would not the hotel for you.

Lovely stay, definitely will be back and recommend to friends and family

Room small but cute, view spectacular depending on which room you get.
Paid over $250 usd per night,
First got keys to a room that was occupied. No personal care products in the room, no coffee maker, no hair drier. You get only one small bottle of water for entire stay. Restaurant is below par, many things for breakfast but nothing special and all tasteless. Dinner only buffet. Should not expect this in a Vineyard hotel. Closest restaurant is 20 minutes drive away. Definitely need a car when staying here.
Wine cellar and tasting are nice, 3 pools are nice.
Overall, even though beautiful views, we were very disappointed with this hotel.

This place met all my expectations and much more. The views are stunning and the surrounding beauty of Douro valley is magnificent!
The bed was comfortable and breakfast was just great with many options! Dinner was a buffet and also very good.
The only thing I didn’t like was that the GPS took me up their dirt track! So be aware and stay on the main road until you find the turning on the right which leads you up a very well paved road.
