Superb in all respects. Thermal springs absolutely a stand out. Service like no other. Y1900 for a coffee is a bit rich but it was excellent. Little noisy in street side rooms

We liked the physical property and the helpfulness of the front desk and concierge staff.
The restaurant staff were not as customer service oriented.

The property is stunning. The staff is friendly and thoughtful. If I would have changed anything, it would be a bit more deeper massage during spa, and restaurant seemed to have some young staff who were not as polished as other experiences I have had. Otherwise stay was lovely.

Amazing design. Amazing attention to detail in interior finishes. Extraordinary staff, but concierge made a bad choices in suggesting the Kenniji Gion Maruyama restaurant which was priced like a three start Michelin restaurant, but did not deserve even to be in the Michelin Guide. The Kaiseki menu was so bad that we were embarrased in front of our guests. The concierge also booked a car to go to the Miho Museum, but the driver was so unprofessional that he could not find the museum with his GPS.

The Hotel Mitsui Kyoto is an outstanding hotel in all respects. The hotel staff are genuinely kind and attentive to guests. The rooms are large, well designed and tastefully furnished. Our concierge was excellent and provided great service from getting reservations for dining to arranging for our luggage to be shipped to our next hotel destination in Tokyo.

Blown away by this hotel. My husband and I just came from 2-night stay to start our honeymoon and loved every second from the minute we walked in. The hospitality is unreal. Even before you arrive, they are emailing you to see if you need help with reservations. I must have emailed the concierge 20 times and they always got back to me immediately and were extremely helpful. We had the garden view room that looks onto the giant gardens which was unbelievably calming and serene. The thermal spas are incredible with a rain shower feature. The showers/baths in the room are incredible. Bed coildnnot be more comfortable and room has two automatic blinds - blackout and a sheer one. Turn down service every night with included pajamas that are comfortable that we bought them ourselves. Highly recommend matcha tea ceremony and breathwork session. I only wish we had time for a spa treatment. Don’t hesitate and book!!!

Worst and most inconsistent service. Charging ~$2000 a night in a beautiful setting but entirely incompetent - just not at all prepared for the level of service they promise. At least 5-7 errors in every meal sitting. Rooms are small and so poorly lit you can't see the things in your suitcase. Took three days of back and forth for the concierge to make a dinner reservation and then lost the reservation because they didn't book it in time. Changed the entire course of our Japan vacation. Meals were terrible and certainly not fine dining. Many more examples.

Such a beautiful hotel! Full of amazing art and details. Excellent service. Impressive, serene, relaxing. You can feel the care of all employees. Excellent breakfast.
The thing to improve was the check into the gym. We would go there and then a lady would interrupt our workout to sign us in. It should be an easier, faster process.

Amazing stay and will come back, even though I’d say some staff needs a little training on understanding as it was often difficult. Even with translation.
Will still rate 5 stars

Amazing hotel but the staff really needs to be more attentive, and they have a very hard time understanding
So maybe some training and English would be good as there was a lot of English speaking guests at the hotel, even if you try to translate we had issues and other guests seemed to struggle as well. Conceirge wasn’t very helpful and it took a lot of work to get help.
There was constant daily issues with misunderstandings from the breakfast to dinners, to check in through conceirge. we asked help to book taxi and they asked if we wanted room cleaned, constantly small things like this made it a bit difficult and other hotels we stayed at in Japan didn’t have these issues so eventually we just gave up on the hotel. But if you overlook that, hotel is beautiful and they try their best.
