Very convenient to train and bus station. Convenient to shopping. Very efficient in check-in and all services. Western stule food and, particularly, vegetarian options sre very limited. Private onsen is very niche ce.

Great service. Location near to station and to the Main Street. Room was very spacious and decorated. Onsen was great and clean.

Superb hotel! We really enjoyed our stay here and would stay again. Great location too.
4.0
Good location a short walk from the old-town. Had a small onsen (no view). Clean and comfortable although room size is fairly small. Easy parking at front of hotel.

just 1-2min walk from takayama station , 10-15min walk to most sightseeing spot. room is neat and clean. breakfast super yum. public bath is a bit small yet well enough to relax after a day of walk

We are SO glad we decided to stay at this property. It was unbelievable in every aspect. We were able to walk to old town and had so many options for food. We drove and parking at the hotel was a breeze. It is also conveniently located to the train and bus stations! We also loved the sento. STAFF are amazing!

I was impressed by everything related to this hotel.

Good hotel and location

This was without question the nicest hotel I’ve stayed at in Japan. The staff was very friendly, the hotel provides electric bikes to rent and has washer/dryer for clothing. It’s a short 3 min walk to the JR line. It’s a beautiful hotel, you won’t regret your stay.

Hotel is very new and location is very convenient, near to the train/bus station and old town. Public bath is small, breakfast is nice but portion is quite small. Will I return? Hmm I will likely to explore other hotel as there are many options around the same area.
10.0
Great location, nice people, outstanding amenities, I would easily recommend to others.
10.0
The room is small. However, the location is perfect, and the hotel is clean.
5.0
The hotel is clean and new. You can choose between Japanese and Western breakfast. We tried the Japanese one and it tasted very good and very traditional. The hotel also supports local shops. It is close to the Takayama train station and around 15 min. walk to the morning market and the old street.

Very clean and relaxing

Hotel Spa is not included in the booking, even though it’s listed in amenities. They charge ¥2000 per 45min and have to reserve in advance. Also bike rental fee is twice as expensive as other places just less than two blocks away. Heck some hostels in the area have even free bikes available to use. Not sure who runs this place, but guest comfort doesn’t seem to be their priority. They nickel and dime you. Don’t make the mistake I did and book some other accommodation

space for storage in the room is insufficient

Its a bit far from the tourist area but very close to station, depending what you want to explore from the trip.

I was annoyed by several things. 1. There was no choice for breakfast. They gave you a tray with Japanese or western food. 2. There was a cover charge in the hotel restaurant, really!
3. They charged a fee for checking out 30 minutes.
I would never go back to this hotel or any Ascend hotel chain. I can't stand being nickeled and dimed. The room was adequate, but small. I couldn't open all my luggage.

Wonderful staff and rooms were excellent. Couldn’t ask for more

This hotel was wonderful. So well designed, close to train station and major sites. The staff was very friendly. I almost did not stay here because the the name "hotel around Takayama suggests to a paranoid American that we would not be assigned a specific hotel, or worse, we would be placed in the outskirts of town .
8.0
The location is perfect; it is about three minutes from the train station.
The staff is accommodating, and the room is pristine and clean, with many amenities.
The only thing I didn’t like was no bottled water in the room. Water is available in the hallway from a picture. It would have been okay if a jug had been in the room so my husband and I wouldn’t have to make several water run trips.
The Japanese breakfast was very delicious. A Western breakfast is also available, but I haven't tried it.
Overall, it was a great place to stay, and we highly recommend it.

Very convenient hotel to stay in. It’s very close to some great restaurants and the train station. It’s a 15 min walk to the old district.
Parking is direct in front of it (with a surcharge).
Staff is very helpful and friendly. Room was spacious and clean (maybe the carpet would need a cleaning soon).
We would come back
