To start, the room wasn’t ready, when we got in there, it smelled like mold which we then saw around the air vents. There was no toilet paper, went to the office and couldn’t find anyone in sight. There was another person trying to check in and he tried calling a number he found online. We saw someone’s eaten takeout just left out in the open and exposed in the kitchen. The building looked like it was really nice at some point but it hasn’t been painted and maintained, leaves in the bottom of the pool, rust railings that didn’t look like they would hold themselves up, let alone a human. The complimentary coffee in the lobby was cold and it looked like they stole a sleeve of cups from Waffle House. All of this I would expect of a room for $50 a night, but not $260!!!

Mike from Golden Magnolia was awesome at helping out with everything.. and the breakfast was great!
Thank you

We spent our wedding anniversary in Flagler Beach and stayed at this place. Got the romantic room, arrived at 4PM on Saturday and paid almost $300 for one night for this stay. AVOID this place at all cost. Please save yourself, your sanity and hard earned money. One of the worst places we stayed. We don't want to ruin our special day so we left early and see the beautiful sunrise.
PROs:
- Location is great. few steps away from the beach and have good restaurants nearby within 5-8 mins walk.
CONs:
- ROOM will welcome you with a very strong musty odor. Everything feels moldy, cold, dump and wet.
- no front desk available. One employee will meet you at the driveway and give you the keys with no instructions.
- no free bottled water at the fridge.
- breakfast will be available starts at 9AM, we left early.
- TV was unplugged so we need to move the console to plug and turn it on.
- AC was very noisy the whole time and AC control is not available in the room.
- We contacted their guy to fix the TV connection before 6PM and texted us back that he will fix it the next morning. So ended up without TV and internet connection during the stay.
- Room tub is old and ugly, so don't bother to use it.

We have a wonderful time . The place was beautiful and the staff were excellent

Great experience. This is like a bed and breakfast with more of an upscale private room feel. we really enjoyed staying here. Expect friendly staff, amazing views, and trendy looking rooms. Don’t expect a hotel front desk. This is not a chain. It’s a hidden gem at the beach. The breakfast was made to order and fabulous with ocean view.

Interesting experience. The positives: was very close and convenient to the beach. Was quiet and I felt safe. The negatives: dated (think circa 1970’s) and lack of onsite staff. Did not even attempt to get breakfast because I didn’t even see any staff activity in and around the property. Not sure what would’ve happened if I did have a need or request. Was sent a text with directions to the property and to my room. Different. All in all, for the money, this is a hard pass for future consideration.

Marina, Mike and Samantha were so kind and helpulf with my husband & me, we appreciate the treat we received in our 1st trip together. Thanks! Nice beach right in front of the Hotel, we went twice just walking a few.

Property was clean, however room requires updates it smelled of mildew. Additionally there were minimal towels for the beach or pool. Lastly there was no cook so the breakfast was available onsite as advertised.

PROS:
- Beach is right there. Can't beat the location.
- 24/7 access to the sauna.
CONS:
- This place is less a resort and more a tiny Event Center/Restaurant, so if you're in one of the 3 rooms attached to the kitchen, prepare for noise from the breakfast crew or if they have a private party, or, say a wedding, like what happened during our stay. Our room was adjacent to the prep kitchen so when events were happening, we were surrounded by clanging of pot, plates, people. Also, the smell of food constantly crept into the room. At the end of the day, we spent most of our time out of the room to enjoy the surroundings but Golden Magnolia should communicate that to people. None of these things were told to us up front so I thought it was a joke when they first showed us our room and seeing how it's just attached to the prep kitchen. Never seen anything like it before. Didn't love having all these strangers coming and going right outside my door and it's cheap locks.
- There's not an on site representative of the"resort," just a phone number to call or text with, which seemed weird for a resort. The staff working there, only work for the kitchen or cleaning for certain hours of the day. I had to help another couple figure out how to check into their room bc no one was present to help them.
- Pool had to be cleaned by the people staying at the resort.

Had a great romantic stay!!! No breakfast though

The location was amazing. But the grounds needed a lot of upkeep and the rooms were in rough shape. There was water damage on most walls and the ceiling, holes in the walls and I definitely would stay here again. There was no legit check in or check out process.

The place itself was beautiful! The only thing that could have been better was communication. We had a hard time getting checked in and breakfast hours was a bit confusing. One person told us it was all day, then someone else told us we missed it. I think a little more communication overall would have made things so much more enjoyable. Aside from that, the room was amazing and perfect. Such a convenient area right across the beach with so many walkable options to eat and shop.

The location is the best thing about this resort. I had stayed at this location several times when it was The White Orchid, and had a wonderful experience with each visit. This week was my first stay at the location since it has become The Golden Magnolia Resort & Spa and I was very disappointed with my experience. The resort photos are reflective of its former glory. The new owners have destroyed the upscale ambiance. The new decor looks cheap and tacky, with an abundance of artifical greenery and
blinking lights. The lounge chairs in the pool area are very uncomfortable. The cabana cushions are thin and faded. The geenery surrounding the outdoor spaces need to be manicured. The back porch is no longer an inviting space. The room we reserved wasn't available so we were placed in a different room upon our arrival. Our room lacked the basic amenities. We had to request toilet paper, rags and towels. There were no blinds nor drapes on the front window of our room that we could utilize for privacy. We were misinformed of the time breakfast would be available. When we went to breakfast we were advised that some items on the limited guest menu weren't available. The breakfast ordered was supposed to be served on whole wheat toast. It was served on a hamburger bun. The bacon consisted of small pieces of fried bacon fat, not a single slice of bacon or ham on the breakfast sandwich. My companion's waffles were a better choice but they were cold. This resort isn't worth the price.

It was a great place to stay and relax. Loved the live music from the new place over by the warm pool, cool vibes and a killer time in peace and tranquillity.

The room was out dated & the outside of the resort was not kept up , the yard was not kept up, walked out on our balcony and boards where coming up as you walked on the balcony which was very scary, the shower water would not go down good, could never get the computer size tv to get channels, when we arrived the room had a wet smell so i had to use my perfume to try and block the smell, carpet was dirty, the curtains were a mile to long, no door for bathroom but mirrors everywhere so you could be seen from the bedroom or part of livingroom. Our grandkids stopped by to say hello and go for supper & we had to have them hangout on the balcony so we could shower:( We paid $836 for 2 nights and was told it was the best room they had. The only 2 great things we liked was the ocean view balcony to look at the beautiful ocean & location. I would not stay there again for what we paid. We met others there & they were asking how did we like the resort & then told us they didnt like it & didn't feel it was worth the cost & they didnt even get the best room like us. The 2 employees were very nice but that didnt help with all the dislikes. Itcwas our wedding Anniversary getaway & we feel it was a loss staying there :(

This was out third year at this property. While we love the location and many of the amenities, there has been staff turnover, and as a result, inconsistency. We stayed in the main hotel which was noisy at times. The mattress on our king bed was badly worn and not very comfortable, though the staff flipped it for us. Definitely not worth the price of the room.
Lisa and the spa were great.

This stay was the most disappointing we have encountered. We booked a stay here for our 20th anniversary. We stayed here on our honeymoon and it had been a treasured memory. This trip has ruined that. We found that they have new ownership who are not taking care of the maintenance.Upon arrival I found the stairs up to the room swayed and the handrail had to be used for safety. The handrail had chipped and peeling paint that hurt to hold. The hot tub in the room was the same one and anything metal looked to be rusted over. We had looked forward to that tub after the long drive but felt uncomfortable and didn’t use it the entire stay.
We looked forward to using the mineral pool. Both pools were filthy and I used the skimmer to clean the mineral pool to be able to use it. Once in there we noticed how grimy the pool walls were and quickly got out. The towels we used to dry off were soft but torn and stained.
For this Bed and ‘Breakfast’ we gave them notice the night before of the time we would be down for breakfast in the morning before our tour. The only person there apologized that the cook was not coming in and the manager was not coming in because she had a split skull. She gave out details of the manager that would have shamed me to have shared. So we left without breakfast.
Their WiFi and TV signal were down the entire stay.
Our plans changed and we needed to leave a day early. The manager promised to refund us for the last night but lied and now refuses to do so.

I was in total shock at how nice and quiet this place was. Anywhere you want to go for your vacation is within walking distance. Bars, restaurants, shops, Beach and so much more.

Beautiful View of beach from room and deck across A1A. The room was immaculate. Denise and Chef Maria are awesome. Best breakfast in years

Quaint beach hotel with very ‘quaint’ decor. Stayed in Flamingo room which stood by itself. Would want that room if we return. Did not take part in spa messages etc. but heard they are the best around. Did go in the very nicely warm mineral bath right outside our door. Excellent included breakfast in grand room and outdoor pergola overlooking the waves! Marie was server , chef, bus person, front desk and concierge all in one. Try her waffles for sure! She made our stay extra special! Denise made sure we had everything we needed in our spotless cottage on the beach!

Very nice facility. Dining area offered wonderful views of the Atlantic. Food was prepared excellently, and was great. Most comfortable bed linens I've ever slept upon.
Was difficult to get anyone on the phone. Service was less than desirable, and we had no housekeeping service at all. Our stay was two nights.

The pictures do not depict the age of the resort. The manager was very nice. There were some maintenance issues that were not resolved during our visit. The Happy Hour was a nice treat. The walk to the beach was close. Disappointed by the internet pictures. No curtain or window covering in the front window.
