About this cottage rental
Relax in a unique, small-town-Alaska setting and make memories. Located on Chichagof Island in Southeast Alaska, with ocean and mountain views, this cozy remodeled home has 5 beds to comfortably sleep 6 people. Keep an eye out for seals, sea lions, orcas or humpback whales cruising the inlet. Watch as bald eagles and great blue herons hunt for food at the water’s edge. Out the back windows you might catch deer grazing, or spot the occasional bear snitching berries. Enjoy hiking the trails, or skirt the edge of the beach at low tide where shore crabs, sculpins, sea stars and anemones hide out. Tenakee's Hot Springs Bath is right across the street. This home away from home has a shower, washer and dryer. The kitchen has a fridge/freezer, gas oven/range, dinnerware, and kitchen supplies including a coffee maker, toaster, microwave and fryer. Books and games are tucked away in the living room along with the TV/DVD player. A haven from the hustle and bustle of everyday life is waiting here for you.

This is our second time staying here and we just love it. It is so fun to sit on the porch, right across the street from the bakery. Laura and Uriah are great! Helped us organize a 50th wedding anniversary celebration for our friends who we brought along and checked in with us everyday. Already planning our trip back for next year!

The owners were very responsive, and went above and beyond to check in with us throughout our stay! They even helped us out when we forgot something there. The house was clean and had all of the amenities we needed. It is right by the dock and there is a cart to use if you have items that are harder to carry. I would recommend this house to anyone coming to Tenakee! The hot springs are a short walk away, and a great way to unwind and warm up!

The Forget Me Not checked ALL our boxes for our 1 week stay in Tenakee Springs. Laura is the best host, she was easily accessible and answered our questions quickly and effortlessly. The house is very clean and efficient. We were 4 adults and two kids. 3 different sleeping areas upstairs gave everyone privacy. The bathroom has a small shower, full laundry, and lots of towels for all the soaking and swimming adventures. The living room has awesome views of the inlet and we did see orca whales while sitting on the couch! The kitchen is fully functional with a nice table for meals. Plenty of hooks for hanging jackets and rain pants. Filtered water for drinking is provided. The deck is partially covered with clear plastic and lounge chairs provide an excellent place to sit and watch the world go by, even if it's raining. The yard is abundant with Laura's garden in full bloom. What more can you ask for? How about a cart provided to haul your gear the 200 yards to the ferry terminal, check. The house is steps from the Tenakee Springs bathhouse which has men's and women's hours. All the soak times and more about Tenakee Springs are conveniently laid out in the informational folder provided by Laura. During our stay the new baker in town opened the Bakery right across the street, we filled up on cinnamon rolls, coffee, and she even made a pie for us! I cannot emphasize enough how much we felt at home in Laura's house. We look forward to staying there again!

We had a fantastic time at the forget-me-not cottage in Tenakee. The cottage has everything you need. The washer/dryer was an extra bonus for us so we could wash our clothes! You could tell by the attention to the details that a lot of work was put into the cottage. It has a beautiful view of the inlet. Very comfortable and cozy and we loved it! Laura and Uriah are perfect hosts and helped us meet some of the people of Tenakee who are very welcoming. It was an amazing trip for us and we are hoping to return next summer.

We love our time at Laura’s place. Laura checked in with us about each day and made sure we were doing good. We needed a high chair and she found one for us to use during our stay. We hope to come back and stay at her cottage again.

We were looking for a place to rent that could accommodate 2 couples and we found this gem; the Forget Me Not cabin. Just around the corner from the store, the springs, the ferry dock and up from the bus stop - the location was perfect. During our four day stay we met all the members of the Strong family, the house owners, which made our stay even more lovely. They offered us hiking suggestions, showed us mink and marten skulls, helped us find swings in the woods, and treasures on the beach. We even learned about how they raised a gosling! We couldn't imagine how our stay could've been better. We bathed at the bath house, cooked meals in the kitchen, slept soundly listening to the ocean. Delightful.

Best weekend ever!
This property does not disappoint! It’s so cute and located so close to the store & bath house which is very convenient. The house had everything we needed to cook all our meals, the shower pressure in the bathroom was outstanding (everyone raves about the amazing shower pressure) Laura our Host was so fabulous and helped us out when we forgot to pack some extra items and was very easy to communicate with. We will definitely be back again to stay at Laura’s cute rental!!
