View is stunning, location is great, extremely pretty valley, Vyrnwy Lake & waterfall was a pleasant surprise. Shared spaces are great, well stocked kitchen and utilities. Loads of room for a packed house to be together or hang out separately. Lots of lovely decorative touches. The main complaint from our travel party was the access road, especially as we arrived in dark wet weather. Cars were dirty from the outset, as you are required to exit the vehicle to open 3 gates. All added to the adventure, but it is extremely bumpy & muddy, though manageable it was not something we would expect to navigate for the price of the accommodation. We also were not aware of how bad access was till we received our welcome pack the week before travel. We called to clarify the situation as elderly members of the party were not happy at this prospect, but felt we had no choice as could not cancel. This information is available on the host website, we had not viewed this as booked via a 3rd party. There are parts of the building that require some attention, such as poor lighting in the ground floor twin bedroom, skirting in bathrooms which have succumb to damp, stains on mattresses, no instructions for use of the hot tub (we were only able to use once). Other small personal preferences we overcame such as being asked to use boot trays, which were placed outside open to the elements, we laid newspaper inside the door to avoid mud be walked through the kitchen. There is a boot room, but access wasn't always practical for our party. There is hanging space for cloths in the bedroom but no traditional wardrobes. We were unable to reach the local contact for the entirety of our stay, we were able to reach other contacts listed in the welcome pack who were very helpful (local contact was unfortunately unwell). Wi-Fi is patchy throughout the house; we used the house phone instead. One bedroom is a walkthrough to the boot room, laundry & another bedroom, we felt more emphasis on this in the house description is required as it was a surprise to us on arrival. Again, something we did not expect for the price of the house. Overall, we had a great weekend but will not be returning.
