The location of the cabin was perfect. The back porches overlooked the river making for an enjoyable stay. The kitchen was not very well equipped: missing any mixing bowls, Spatulas, and working can opener. The stand alone AC could not keep up with the need. A few more chairs for the dinning table would be helpful. We had a lot of towels and a good washer/dryer, but no wash cloths or hand towels.

We stayed with our family for a long weekend. The house is in a great location on the river, quiet, and has accommodation to make everyone feel comfortable, including our two year old son and small dog. The sandbox and toys were a big hit with the toddler! The main complaints were that it was pretty dusty in some spots, the high chair was still dirty and the kitchen was lacking a few pieces. Also, the two air conditioners really struggled (outside temps were in the low 80s). The fans helped, though. What did not help was the downstairs radiators for some reason were generating heat even though they were supposedly turned off. Other than that, it was apparent that Jason took care of some of the complaints left by the previous reviewer. In general we had a good stay!

Stayed at the property with my 3 kids and in-laws. We were very disappointed in the condition of the house upon our arrival. It did not look like it had been cleaned at all. As soon as we walked in, it smelled like wet dog and there were paw prints on the glass doors. The toilets and tub were filthy and had urine stains on them, and the shower had tiles that were loose and sticking up. The decks and deck furniture were filthy and we had to clean them before we could sit on the chairs. The railing is held up in 2 places by bungee cords because it is loose, and some of the floorboards are rotted and loose on the deck, which I felt was very unsafe. The property is advertised as having air-conditioning, but there are only two units in the house, one of which was in a hallway that did not provide any cooling into the bedrooms. This would’ve been fine if the house also had fans or even screens in the windows so that we could open the windows and get the cool mountain air, but there were no screens or fans. We reached out to Jason and he did bring a couple of screens and fans the following day which did make things a little better. The upstairs toilet kept clogging, and the kitchen faucet in the sink is extremely loose. Overall, the house needs to be maintained much better, especially for what is being charged per night. That being said, the house is in a great location and the view from the decks is lovely. Jason was responsive when I reached out to him and seems very kind.

This place is awesome! I feel like the pictures don’t really do it justice. The kitchen is wide open to the family room with a great island and the dining room table sits 8-10 ppl. It’s so close to town, as well, BUT it doesn’t feel like it. The property manager, Jason, was so prompt with my questions, and was a true professional. I HIGHLY recommend this sweet house!

Cons: Bathrooms were not clean, paid additional for a clean house. There was no toilet paper or paper towels There was no propane for the gas grill so or fire pit. Requested propane the first night we were there (5 night) Jason never brought over the propane. There was no heat. Non responsive host Pros: 4 separate bedrooms Plenty of room Beautiful view of the lake, easy access to kayaks and paddle board. Good location, close to town and walking trails.

Great location for family getaway. 8 adults a baby and 2 dogs. Very comfortable with nice open layout. Beautiful deck and location. Very relaxing. Would definitely recommend!

The location is perfect being close to the shops, restaurants, and water Safari and yet was private and peaceful along the river. The kids enjoyed the sand pit, the adults enjoyed the kayaks. WiFi was great and the kids could watch all their favorite cartoons. Beds were very comfortable! It was just like being in our own home!

The location of this home is within walking distance to Old Forge. We walked downtown a lot. The deck and view of the Big Moose River was enjoyed daily. Many visitors from the river came bye. Snapping turtles floated bye, Ducks, ducklings, geese, a Raccoon, River Otters and many Deer. The living room was big enough for all of us to sit and enjoy movies. If I texted Jason; I had a return text quickly. One day the power went out and he made sure we were fine. Thank goodness for the generator! I’ll miss the mornings at Guides enjoying my cup of coffee with the visitors from the river.

This house was perfect for my young family and our friend’s young family! (4 adults, 2 toddlers, 1 infant, 1 dog). The location on the river was very unique. House was clean and easy to entertain in.

Beautiful cabin. The decor and choices made in the home are just perfect and really bring the Adirondack lifestyle to the cabin. The location was excellent. We were greeted by 3 deer in the driveway upon arrival! The decks are awesome!! Very quiet, dead end. Great location, so close to town and so many things to do. Now, if it had just been a little warmer, I might have jumped in that river for a swim!! Great host. Jason was SO accommodating and responds very quickly. He was so gracious, especially when my guests and I accidentally locked the cabin keys in the cabin when leaving! I HIGHLY recommend this cabin! Wonderful weekend! Thank you Jason for your hospitality!

Traveling as a family with a four year old made this property perfect for us. Not only was it in a great location it also had a wonderful supply of toddler activities like the sandpit outdoors, a variety of books and toys, and utensils for little hands. The check in process was seamless and the homeowner had wonderful suggestions for things to do.

We really enjoyed the location of this property during our stay. It is located right at the edge of the main part of the village, which allowed us to walk to numerous restaurants, shops, mini-golf, ice cream, etc. The kayaks and waterfront was great, the kids loved going out on the river. The inside is still being updated, but for a camp/cabin on the river it was fine. There was an excessive amount of air fresheners (in our opinion), but we simply unplugged some and it was good.

It was a great house in good central location to main village. Nice to have the kayaks and paddle board for my whole family to use. Super family friendly, quiet area right on the water. We had very helpful and quick responses from the host. They provided lots of information on the area which was very well done. Super to have multiple rooms, laundry, and bathrooms with a family. We would definitely come back again!

Jason has put a great deal of effort into updating this historic family home. With a comfy bed at night and the pretty sunlight on the river,, it is truly relaxing. Convenient to groceries, ice cream and mini-golf without being right in the crush of traffic within Old Forge. The plumbing is still a work in progress. We did experience issues, which the owner responded to very promptly. As expected with an old house, there were some smells and idiosyncrasies here and there. But the location right on the water made up for these and really allowed us to enjoy all that the area has to offer - hiking, chairlift up McCauley Mountain etc.

This is a great find for a family. Location is awesome, the owners were responsive and so nice, I appreciated the high chair and pack n play for my youngest kid (they also had a stroller available which really is so convenient) but my older ones loved the paddle board and kayaks. We had plenty of room for all 4 of our kids. A really nice little family getaway. Besides using the kayaks and paddle board we also visited the local amusement park, spent a lot of time on the lake with our boat and went to Moose River Farms for a Lhama trek. Highly recommend.

We had an amazing time. Location is great on a dead end road but still within walking distance to everything in Old Forge. Fastrac is a 1 minute walk and my teenagers liked walking there for $1 cappuccinos. I loved reading my book on the deck it was so peaceful! We also enjoyed kayaking and paddle boarding in the moose river. Host was okay quick to respond with questions. House was beautiful and extremely clean and spacious. Five stars all around!
