The unique experience is what we enjoyed the most. Very relaxing environment. The spaciousness was wonderful.
The neighbor boat owner/user was scary to us, being two women staying alone on the boat. He was outside when we arrived and we didn't feel like we could relax on the front of the boat nearest to his. We did however enjoy the back deck on the boat.

Lovely well equipped boat which was spotless. Brilliant information and instructions
Couple of moored boats we had to walk past, people shouting, swearing and fighting and quite a bit of fly tipping on the yow path. I know this is not the owners fault but did impact the stay. Lovely on the actual boat though and had everything we needed

The boat is beautiful, the beds are super comfy and the kitchen and bathroom have everything you need. Great for kids with an Xbox allowed us oldies to have a peaceful afternoon snooze. The pub near by (malt shovel) is also fab. Good food and friendly staff. Couldn’t have asked for better accommodation.
Nothing. It was excellent. Beyond expectations.

Beautiful, unique lodgings right on the canal. Quiet, comfortable and serene setting. We watched ducks, swans and other birds with our morning coffee and evening glass of wine. The Malt Shovel pub nearby is lovely. Easy bus and tube ride in to London. Highly recommend.
Being a boat, you have to conserve water and electricity, but it wasn't anything extreme. If you are someone who takes suuuuuper long showers and wants to leave all the lights on all the time then this place isn't for you. Take typical precautions and you will be fine. We had water and electricity to spare.

I liked the concept. The boat was well furnished. The interior looked lovely. The owner offered an hr later check out free of charge (it's normally an extra £15). The location was a fair way from everything. Ideally you need a car to stay there.
There were too many rules, it had so many appliances and facilities but we were told we were not allowed to use them. I get it's a, boat and power water etc are limited resources but why have all those things if they are just for show. I didn't feel comfortable because I worried about using water, so I actually used toilets elsewhere and washed hands less frequently so as not to use the water.

the property was clean and the owners had fully equipped it to make it home from home

There are no words to describe how incredible Thistle Dream is, if you are in doubt whether to book, please do! The boat feels utterly luxurious and being on the water in such beautiful accommodation is simply magical. The boat suits sun and rain (we were lucky to experience a downpour during a beautiful sunny weekend) and I can imagine how very cosy it would be in the cold too with central heating and a heated mattress, along with snuggly blankets. We were truly gutted to leave and I'm already dreaming of returning and missing the ducks that live next door. The photos don't do it justice, all expectations exceeded.
Leaving!

We loved everything about this boat and we did not want our stay to end! The boat itself is beautiful and has everything you will need for your stay. Very luxurious but also great to experience boat life. It was super comfortable and cosy. We loved seeing all the little ducks every day :) I would recommend this to anyone and we want to come back! Thank you
We liked everything, we would not change a thing.

A really nice place, if you like something different.
Very comfortable beds and just amazing place to stay.
Warm, lots of space and really nice vibe.
Well, because it is off-grid, you need to be a little bit more sensible and use less electricity and water. But let's be honest - that is part of the charm when you are at some place like this.

Whole boat was stunning, owners really friendly, helpful and prompt to all queries, it was beautiful would happily book again.
Slightly annoying that a lot of the appliances didn't work due to no mains hook up and the boat was a walk away down a muddy tow path from the pub with heavy bags - that said as soon as we booked the owners made us aware of this and we planned accordingly and for 1 night it didn't matter - everything we needed worked and was beautiful

Excellent customer service and support over the phone. Very clean and comfortable place to stay.

We loved the comforting homelike feel as you entered the boat and the welcome pack was very kind. The decor was perfect , truly luxury. The book explaining everything was perfect, friendly and really helpful. The equipment was really high quality and we felt really relaxed. Loved the huge fluffy towels and the whistling kettle. Beautiful having ducks as neighbours.
There was nothing we didn't like but it was a pity that we could not use some facilities as the boat is not connected to the mains. This is understandable but the jacuzzi bath was soooo tempting but could not be used. I didn't mind not being able to use the washing machine or dishwashing though. We were a bit concerned about running out of water so were really conservative but even this was Ok when we got used to it. I wasn't sure how far away from the car we would be and it is a walk along a narrow muddy path,(due to heavy rain and it being October) so don't used a wheeled case, it won't work! Also take a torch , late at night you can't see along the path.

I loved everything about this place. Whilst we booked it to visit Windsor and London I could have very happily just stayed on the barge. It was clean and well maintained and fitted out to a high standard. I will definitely return.
The owners were very helpful with directions, details and any queries we had.
Nothing.

The boat is beautifully decorated and has has all modern amenities like oven, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, wine cooler, bath and 2 double bedrooms very tastefully decorated. Boat has wifi and a nice deck area and Heathrow Airport is 15 mins drive. Car can be parked nearby pub.
Firstly, we had to turn the engine on to charge the boat. We had pre paid so one would expect the boat be ready for us but no. Then while the boat had all appliances, it seems they are for show only as nothing can be used since we were told we cannot go above 200 w power usage. The owner was monitoring our usage through some remote device and the whole evening he kept sending us messages to turn this off that off which put us off. Some messages were really disturbing saying you will damage the boat if you use the toaster etc. Then why keep them in there in the first place? We paid almost £260 for one night as it was my 49th birthday and we had to drop my mother at Heathrow Airport next day morning so we thought we might enjoy the last night celebrating which ended up being stressful as it felt like being in the big brother house with a stranger monitoring all our activities. Plus we were not allowed to experience the lovely boat fully. If I could I would like a refund as I could have stayed in a hotel with less hassle for the same money.

An excellent place to stay which was stunning inside and out.
Just a beautiful well presented place to stay that was reasonably priced and couldn't have been better.
Easy access to everything we needed and only a short Uber to the tube station for easy access to London.
Simon was fantastic with the communication and so friendly when we got there, I can't recommend this place enough.
Nothing it was fantastic
