We tried to contact the host with questions before our stay and did not get a response. It was was worrisome as I've never encountered this with other hosts before. Thankfully we got in without issue. Unfortunately there was an issue with the cleaning service or someone using the place after it was cleaned. Someone from the cleaning service came by to apologize which was nice, but still unsure as to what happened. There was no propane for the grill which we purchased. And asked the host for reimbursement but never heard back.

good location, nice and quiet. Home could use updating and got hot during the day. However, owner was accomodating.

We had a great stay at this home. The home had what we needed (AC, cooking utensils, etc.). It was wonderful to stay in Sconset. We only wish we saw saw the other reviewers that mentioned which side to enter.

The cottage was lovely and quaint and Jennifer was a great host. Yes, the cottage is 'rustic', but there was a flat screen TV and decent kitchen amenities, new decking. Some folks mentioned dust and I have allergies, but I didn't have any problem at all, it was clean and orderly. You cant beat the price of this cottage and complete privacy, so just go into w an open mind and enjoy all that Sconset has to offer.

We loved this house. Sure, it is rustic (as the title says), but we loved the vibe. The architecture, exposed wood, and white floors felt like a 60s surf bungalow. The house is interesting and there are some quirks, but nothing that had any impact on our stay. It was clean and well appointed where it mattered- the linens were clean and fresh, the kitchen and bathroom were clean, the mattresses on the twin beds seemed new. It was walking distance to the little town, beach, playground, Sconset bluff walk, and bus stops.
Only one thing I would mention is that if you put the address into GPS, it will take you to a side of the house you cannot enter. Go around to the little street behind the house to find the driveway. We didn't realize that at first and had to figure it out. Otherwise, we had a great time and would definitely stay here again!

Very uncharacteristic for the island of Nantucket. I wish I could share the photos. Holes in the walls, a very slippery moldy deck, rips in the furniture, baited & set mouse traps. (glad we did not have any children with us!) The air conditioning units ALL had nasty old paper towels stuffed around them. We took them out, as it was hard to breath with the musty/mold. The home was not cleaned very well at all. We actually rented another place to finish our stay!! Could not watch tv, the heaters did not work well, so we turned on the oven & opened the door. Super disappointed. The pictures here do not show the true home. May be a great place for a college frat party, but don't rent this if you have any health related issues, have any handicaps at all, (tub would be hard to get in and out of), or plan on having people over.

My partner and I stayed here in September for a long weekend and it was just as described. Rustic space but had all the essentials. We brought our car and just to note the entrance was on the other street behind the address given but there was plenty of space to park. Walkable to sconset locales and the beach. There are window AC units in all the rooms for summer months but the weekend we went was pretty cool at night so we didn’t need them. Overall, good stay for the location and price. It was a great place to call home for visiting the island for the weekend.

The owner kept her too abandoned cars on the property in the way of the narrow entrance— I scratched my car in the shrubbery trying to get out without hitting her car! She promised to have cars removed and she didn’t also as stated in previous bad reviews the furniture was broken the amenities were awful the place was crawling with ants and spiders the oven did not work! If I didn’t travel so far and with the kids and couldn’t schedule out a sooner car ferry, I would have left and not stayed but the island was sold out due to Boston Pops! I had to put sheets (thankfully I brought my own!) on all the couches and beds because everything was dirty and worn! The electricity was so dated outlets were far and few between. No dishwasher, kitchen was disgusting as was the makeshift bathroom/shower! A knockdown house! Yuck!
