The Staffs attitude.
The proximity to where I was going.
The adjoined boulangeries'.
It is located at a very busy intersection; The gYm was not really setup for use. Th eplumbing in my rooom was dodgy.

This hotel is a joke
I stayed 5 nights and most of time I was the only guest.
The first morning, somebody opened my room with electric card key and starred at me from the door while I was pretending to sleep.
The second day, nobody cleaned my room. I asked why, the manager said that I should have give them the key. Hm?!
The fourth day, power was gone in my room and the door was beeping the whole night. They said that mechanic will come some other day and they suggested to change the room.
That was the final jackpot. Room right above the club, no wifi at all, and lots of street noise.
Breakfast jokes
First morning, it took them 40min to bring me a cup of coffee (Nescafe only) and 55min for scrambled eggs, one croissant, one whole apple and one whole orange. I asked for knife to cut, they said they only have butter knife.
Second morning: coffee, eggs and croissant. No salad, no fruits, no cereal. She said, there is nothing else.
Third morning, I skipped breakfast, but got a cattle to make my own coffe in a room
Fourth morning, I asked for sunny side up eggs and showed pictures of egg. Big confusion. 25min later they said it is better I got omelet. I guess no real eggs.
I would understand if there was a shortage of food in country. But there are people selling avocados, tomatoes and oranges right in front of door of hotel.
Fifth morning I couldn't bother eating powdered eggs.
Oh, and forget about bottle of water in a room. I did not get one in 5 days.
“Gym" is a hotel room on the first floor and contains 3 treadmills, 2 bikes that are not connected to power, and 1 weight machine. You have to bring your own ac controller to turn on air-conditioning.
I wouldn't definitely recommend to anyone.

They had a gym which was a nice surprise. The hotel is in a great location. A free Airport shuttle is available.
The manager listened to our complaints as we wanted to express our disappointment and hope for major improvements.
The check in was painful. The first room - the AC wasn’t working. The second room- the TV wasn’t working. The third room- okay. The bathrooms all need refurbishment. It’s just nasty. The walls don’t look good. The lighting is terrible in the whole hotel. They had a gym - a very dusty gym. I had to clean everything myself before and after use. No disinfectant spray in the gym. Maintenance and Housekeeping are weak at this hotel. The staff are trying….just not good enough. Breakfast was painful. The decor alone looks like something from an 80s wedding reception area. Plastic table covers didn’t look nice at all. Breakfast service was terrible. I heard one customer screaming at them. It took almost an hour to get the staff to serve us anything. Breakfast was basic and very disappointing. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. It was so so bad.

I liked the size of the room, comfortable bed and pillows. I also liked the proximity to the airport and the soundproof room despite the busy intersection outside.
Too much bling for my taste but I did not mind as it was comfortable bling.

just a bit of noise from the night club that’s all

The hotel is well located - close to both the city centre and bus stops as well as close to the airport. They provide a free airport shuttle, which is convenient.
I had booked a suite to get a good rest before my flight early the next morning. When I arrived the staff at the reception could not find my booking in their system. He then took me up to a room that clearly was not a suite. After I asked whether this was the suite, he took me to another room on the same floor. That room was much larger but did not have a balcony as indicated on the booking.com website and other amenities (such as soap, a bathrobe or tea/coffee station) were missing. There was also a dead cockroach right at the door. When I indicated this to the staff, he simply kicked it out in the hallway. As it turns out, the A/C in this room did not work, so I needed to go back to the reception to ask to change rooms again. I was given another room, which was noticeably smaller than the previous suite but I was assured that this was a suite of the same category (after looking at the pictures on booking, I have my doubts). But at this point I was just tired and didn't want to argue. The room was rather noisy with loud music from the streets or the downstairs club being audible. Unlike the other room, this one had a balcony but it was purely used to store the A/C fan and therefore could not actually be used.
Later, I went down to the restaurant for dinner, where I was ignored by service staff despite being the only customer. So it took me about 20 minutes just to order. Selection of food is rather limited.
After a short night, I went to the reception early next morning to catch my airport shuttle. This was when I saw a big rat run across the lobby and downstairs to the hotel. Not a great last impression.
All in all, I would not recommend a stay in this hotel!

The front desk lady was exceptionally good. She deserves an award and a promotion. She made sure that I was comfortable in everything.
The wifi quality. I kept logging into my laptop and phone each time I return from outside.

I found the most reasonably priced staycation. Set less than 1000km from the Douala Mall it was nice to have meal options. The colors and prints around the hotel give a nod to bold yet minimalist elegance. I loved that all the rooms are individually decorated (I moved rooms) with their own rich palette and design. Both rooms I saw are unique and full of character. 204 was a blend of rich hues of royal blue headboard and wall paper set against the legendary red. Also, the staffs attention to detail is commendable. Go see for yourself. Thank me later!
I like to have the option of a pool or workout room when I’m away from home to exercise.
