I got a pretty good price because this place was under construction. The lobby wasn't open yet, and the first day I checked in, I had construction crew knocking on my door when all I wanted to do was take a nap after being on the road and being denied an early check in. Once I was settled in, I found the room quite comfortable and was able to adapt to the construction. One thing notable is that my room did not have a bathtub. The shower stall is large enough for a lawn chair, and is very friendly for those that need a shower without having to step into a tub. Very Modern Age decore. If you like Kohler, you'll like this bathroom. I a had a King bed, and the room had a pull out sofa bed that I didn't bother with. The USB and power ports on the nightstands next to the bed was very convenient. Lots of places to put stuff. The parking lot is not trucker friendly and not RV friendly. The hotel is situated between US route 1 in the front and the Maine Turnpike runs behind. It is a few miles off I-295. There was no warning about the construction besides low price. I'm sure this place will eventually cost $350+ a night. I would recommend this place for families on vacation traveling via passenger vehicles, and business travelers.

I had to cancel a second stay. The hotel manager told me Expedia would refund. Expedia said the hotel instructed them not to issue refunds. Catch 22.

The property was under construction. Amenities that were advertised were not available ... no breakfast, no pool, no ice machine.

First floor and others under construction. No fromt desk, breakfast, ice or and kind of vending machines. Entry is covered with tools and workers. Very poor signage. Room was only nice part of stay

Renovation so couldn't use pool or do breakfast and didn't know before you going

This property is under MAJOR renovation that wasn't advertised on Orbitz. It looks like the finished product will be quite nice but, in our opinion, this hotel should either be closed temporarily so the building can be completed, OR they need to advertise transparently that the reason the price is lower than the nearby hotels is that you'll be staying in a loud, noisy, and dirty construction zone.

What can I say….this place shouldn’t be open! I have pics but I don’t see where I can upload. To say it’s under renovations is an understatement! There is no lobby at all! You have to check in through a window..with a canopy And ply wood under it..only third floor is available..smells so bad and noisy from work…wires hanging out of ceilings….random trash and construction things sitting outside…I promise you will think oh it’s not that bad-it’s that bad! I don’t know how legally they can stay open..no security..the door to the inside is the what they call hotel is always open…it was more of just a room for rent.

Newly refurbished

Room itself was great. The hotel itself is currently undergoing renovations and the pool was not available and breakfast unavailable.

There is a lot of construction at this hotel. The pool is closed, there is no breakfast and it is not pet friendly at this time. The parking lot is full of construction stuff, to the point that the hotel does not look open. You check-in outside at a window. The room was very nice and nice the renovations are complete, it will be a nice hotel. For now, it was not great.

Hotel was under construction and it was not clear at time of booking. Check in happened at an outside window under a pop-up tent. Debris everywhere in hotel. No pool, no breakfast, no elevator...just a complete lack of services with zero notice. The room itself was spacious and clean but my 6 year old was sorely disappointed by the pool closure. Expedia, please keep your bookings up to date and alert customers to the condition the property will be found in upon arrival. This is my 2nd stay at 44North in Freeport where the pool was inaccessible. Ill choose another option next trip.

Simply disappointed that my travel companion and i were not made aware that 1. The pool would be out of order, due to the construction, and 2. There was a discount on the price, BECUASE THERE WAS CONSTRUCTION. It is very easy to inform people of these inconveniences prior to them booking a trip, but they intentionally withhold information which is just irritating. Room was very nice and clean, but i really wanted to swim 😅Wouldve stayed elsewhere for the night if i had known.

Hotel was under renovations. Found out upon check in that the pool was closed and no breakfast was available. We had to walk through construction workers, around ladders and drywallers. The entire first floor was dirty and dusty, with contruction materials everywhere. During our 3 night stay, not once did the staff clean our room, empty garbages our replenish our towels.

The hotel was under significant construction, which we were aware of prior to arrival. Even though the construction was occurring our room was beautiful, clean, and quiet. Staff was very pleasant

This property is under major construction and I do not think it is ready for guests to be staying. In the downstairs hallway there are many ceiling tiles missing with wires exposed. No smoke detectors have been installed there yet and there are construction materials left out that children could get into. The parking lot is full of construction trash and we found multiple screws and nails throughout the parking lot that put car tires at risk. There is no lobby open, so you check in through a window. The man who checked me in was very nice and the specific room I stayed in was just refurbished and clean. There were wires sticking out from the walls in our room where I assume they are installing light fixtures or something, so that could be a concern for smaller children, but we were traveling with teens so it was fine for us. Note that none of the amenities like the pool or breakfast are available and that the parking lot is taken up by construction equipment, so there aren’t as many spots available. And of course, you will be driving over screws and nails. This could be a great property, but they need to wait until basic things like smoke detectors are I stalled before inviting guests to stay. I took videos and wish I could post here, but I did grab some screen shots from them to show.

This is hotel should not be hosting guests during a major renovation. There are no amenities available, not even ice. One of my worst lodging experiences ever.

Hotel was under serious construction. Hallway we navigated to get to the elevator was full of construction debris and stunk.

The property was under renovation during our stay, but despite that we enjoyed our stay.

I’m very upset because we had chosen here because of the breakfast and pool and then we had to go pay for breakfast because of construction, which I was not emailed about before our reservation. It was me and my husbands only weekend away and now we had to worry about breakfast and finding a pool. I’m very upset about that and that our bedroom had not been properly maintenances with the tv not being all the way attached, outlet plates falling out of the wall. TVs are to close together so that with one remote control you can change both tvs.

They are doing construction but we were aware of this beforehand. If you are just needing a place to sleep, the rooms are beautiful and very clean and comfortable.

OK this was a really interesting experience. They’re renovating the hotel, so there is not a lot available but the third floor is all renovated. So you walk in through construction but then when you get to the third-floor, it’s amazing gorgeous and incredible. Our room was spotless, sparkly clean the beds were top notch. The bedding was amazing. I wanted to stay there forever.

Under contruction which we knew but nobody picked anything up and we almost tripped over a thing of tape. I slammed my hand off the glass in the shower when i went to go take one and bruised my hand. I will never go back

This property is under construction and should not be open to guests. The lobby and first floor are closed and full of construction materials. Guests must enter through a side door next to the parking lot; that door is not locked. This property is not safe.

Under constructions, room with king bed was unavailable. Smell was bad.

It is not the place to bring a pregnant person to. The entire 1st floor to the elevator smells with paint fumes and a ton of other smells etc. We checked in through a window on the outside of the building. I understand the renovations but not the severity of it. It was a horrible experience. Especially for the price.

No amenities, complete construction zone, dangerous and hazardous equipment and materials left everywhere.

The hotel is not safe, there is trash and nails scattered everywhere, and the noise and dust from construction are unbearable, despite no mention of construction on the website.
