Located within one of Penrith’s historic ’Yards", this charming cottage is perfect for a cozy break for two, or a family of four to explore the Northern Lakes and Eden Vally areas of Cumbria.. 1 step to entrance.

Bedroom 1: Kingsize (5ft) Bed Ensuite: Cubicle Shower, Heated Towel Rail, Toilet
Bedroom 2: Double (4ft 6in) Bed, (Jack And Jill En-Suite, Shared With Bedroom 1). Gas central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Initial logs included.. Sitting-out area with bench and bistro set. 2 dogs welcome. Public car park, at cost. Bike/equipment store. No smoking.. Penrith is known for its traditional Cumbrian Farmers Markets with easy access to Keswick, Cockermouth, the city of Carlisle to the north and the unspoilt North Lakes with Ullswater, Thirlmere and Derwent water less than an hour’s drive.

Explore some great local walks and for those with a taste of adventure go try Helvellyn, Blencathera and Skiddaw or Whinlattar Forest where you can hire bikes to enjoy the tracks or simply go for a walk amongst the trees followed a coffee and cake at the Cafe.

Try the unspoilt Eden Valley with its Stone Circles of ’Long Meg and her Sisters’, discover the Pennine Way, the highest market town of Alston and go for a trip on an old fashioned steam train.

Penrith and its area has a host of sights and attractions to discover along with some excellent pubs and restaurants to suit all.

Listed in the Penrith Museums ’Walking Tour’ leaflet, this private Yard is located down a little alley just off the Main Street of Penrith and is full of charm and original features such as a solid stone floor and a beautiful sandstone fire with a multi fuel burner.

This little hideaway is warm and cosy with a wood burner, a comfy two-seater sofa and two single chairs to rest in after walking on our local fells.
There is also a well-equipped kitchen and two freshly decorated (2024) first floor bedrooms with super comfy beds with four pillows (hairdryers are also supplied) and also new for 2024, a new fresh shower room with dual function shower heads and extra-large shower cubicle.

Bring your four-legged furry friends to make your holiday break a real family affair.

Outside is a wooden bench and a storage shed suitable for bikes or prams and also containing a small bistro set for morning coffee and locally made cakes in the sun.

Penrith has an abundance of pubs serving great food and local cask ales, alongside all manner of eateries from bistros and fine dining to sandwich bars and fast food.

The high street has a good range of shops including the usual brands but also many independent shops for a great shopping experience.

If you need to stock up on supplies, a major supermarket is just over a mile away, and you can reach the train station in just 20 minutes on foot, offering easy rail links from the north or south.

Penrith is located on the eastern border of the Lake District National Park. If you like outdoor adventure you’ll love the scenery, walking and cycling routes, lakes, and mountains nearby. Ullswater, with its famous steams offers a great day out. If you have younger children, be sure to visit the Rheged Discovery Centre with children’s activities, outdoor play area and cinema, just over 4 miles away. If you like a bit of heritage and culture, then a visit to Lowther Castle and gardens is a must.

The Eden Valley is one of the best kept secrets of Cumbria, with stone circles hidden village pubs and a host of walks along the Pennines.
