Carlsbad is great beach town. It is beautiful and quiet. The weather is spectacular in the summer. Carlsbad Village is a little over a mile from the home. Legoland is few miles away. The San Diego Wild Animal Park is about 20 minutes away in Escondido. Downtown San Diego is about 30 miles away. San Diego has Sea World, the world famous San Diego Zoo, Petco Park (home of the Padres), Torrey Pines Golf Course and all of the great restaurants and bars downtown has to offer.
The home is next to the train tracks. There are two types of trains. The first is the San Diego Coaster. It runs 10 times or so during the day. It is a commuter train and goes by in a few seconds. It is not loud at all unless the north bound blows the horn right when it is going by the house. It only runs during the day. The second are the freight trains. They are long and heavy. They are not loud, but are heavy. They come by two times or so per day. Sometimes they come by in the middle of the night, but that is rare. I lived in both houses for five years and they rarely disrupted my sleep, but I want to make all residents aware because if you are an extremely light sleeper or sleep during the day, it may be a problem for you.

Comfortable but dated. Train noise was not an issue, you get used to it very quickly. Good location. Excellent and very responsive Property Management. Will equipped.

Really enjoyed our stay here! It was close to downtown and all of the amenities of the area. The space was very clean and matched the description. The only minor complaint is how close the space is to the train tracks. Just bring some ear plugs and you’ll be good to go! Overall though, I would stay here again!

We had a great stay at we call a Sweet treat in Carlsbad! The location was perfect. We could walk into town easily and enjoy a morning or afternoon shopping or at the Farmer's Market. Beach access was perfect because it is close enough to walk but far enough away to avoid the massive traffic. We had no problems with any of the amenities. Thanks for such a great stay! P.S. the trains were not that bad and blended into the background within a day.

Loved the property - very clean and cute. Can’t beat the location - walk to beach and village. Excellent communication with the property host. Trains were fun and not an issue at all even for our light sleeper! Would definitely rent this property again.

My family loved our stay at this property. The kitchen and rooms were very spacious. It was an easy walk into Carlsbad Village. And we loved talking walks by the lagoon. It was easy to contact the host and the long term renters behind the property were very friendly. We truly enjoyed our stay.

The property adjoins the railroad tracks separating you by one stucco brick wall only. I have a history of working on the trains, so it does not bother me, but I can see how it would really impact other guests. The window coverings need to be addressed as the privacy is a little low. Other than that the beds are comfy, the open floor plan of the kitchen and dining room is fabulous and the location is wonderful except for the train. The lagoon is at the end of the block and a wonderful short walk to watch the sunset in the evening. There is a charming Italian restaurant around the corner and you are a short walk to Carlsbad Village . The hosts communicate beautifully. However, with my extended stay, I wish they reached out to see if I needed any restock on supplies. The only reason this is not a five star location is the railroad proximity and window coverings. The only other thing to note is that it was clean, clean, clean clean, which is hard to do with a place that allows pets.

Exceeded expectations! Home was easy to check-in. The little things that other hosts skimp on (e.g. toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, shower soap, salt/pepper, etc.) was provided. The bed was comfortable, too - I got a great night sleep. The location was fantastic - easy to walk to Better Buzz or a 7 min drive to Windmill Food Hall. Plenty of affordable grocery stores nearby, too! Parking on the property was easy. Not to mention, check-out was easy. The best part of it all was how dog friendly the home was. Thank you for a wonderful stay! Looking forward to returning!

This is such a cute cottage close to the beach. We also had no problem walking along the coast to Carlsbad Village where there are a ton of great restaurants and shops.
The trains do blow their horns frequently as late as midnight or 1am; but I got used to it within a couple of days. The property manager was very quick to respond to questions and concerns and the house was clean and beds very comfortable.
My only suggestion is that the kitchen needs to be better stocked. There was only one wine glass and no larger casserole for baking and no baking sheets if you wanted to cook a pizza or something. We usually cook quite a bit when we VRBO so just a few more basic items would be great to add.
Wonderful stay overall!

We stayed here with our son and appreciated the close proximity to Legoland and the beach. Spacious and tidy, the house had plenty of towels, cozy blankets, and kitchenware, plus the beds were super comfortable. There were quite a few trains passing through which we got used to after a day or so, but they are loud and startling at first. Enjoyed the bamboo and tranquil backyard with ping-pong table. Overall, we greatly enjoyed our stay and would return!

Great stay with our son and dog, Jackson. Easy walk to beach, at end of cul de sac so safe to play. Spacious, clean and safe. Super vacation and would stay here again.

Nicely decorated, dog friendly, affordable property in a quiet neighborhood within an easy 10-12 minute walk to Tamarack Beach. Met the needs for a pleasant 5 night stay.

The property was surrounded by cul de sacs which made it very private. The decor was clean and modern. It looked like it had been recently renovated. Fire pit on the patio was a nice addition.
Train tracks were near the property and some trains blew their whistles just as they came by which startled us in the kitchen but we were warned about that. The bedroom is further away and less intrusive. I do not mind trains and actually enjoy them but some people may have issues with that.
We shared the backyard with others tenants but they were away most of the time and when they were there, they were very quiet and respectful.
The property is near the lagoon where a trail is marked for walking. The view from the Cliff is stunning. We are near the beach and coastal towns.
We loved our stay. Easy check in and check out made it simple.

Great location, walking distance to the beach.
The train sometimes throws you out of bed, but you quickly get used to it. I was only missing a few wine glasses 😃😃😃

we have enjoyed our visit to Carlsbad and felt comfortable in this rental property. nicely decorated, walking proximity to the beach and safe neighborhood. it is right next to railroad track, which we expected, but took a day to adjust. fast response by property management to address a broken bed was very much appreciated and did not interrupt out stay.

We were very happy with our stay, quick response to our questions, close to the beach and downtown Carlsbad along with being a short drive to the San Diego attractions. Would definitely recommend. There are passenger trains that come by a few times a day and night but that wasn't a problem because they go by quickly and aren't loud. We look forward to coming back in the future.

Great spot! Walking distance to the beach and so easy to get to the main part of Carlsbad. A perfect home away from home for my family.

This charmer was even better than depicted on VRBO! We had a very relaxing time there…our dog enjoyed it too.

The house was larger than the pictures illustrate and ample for three adults and a medium size dog.
.
The living area was bright with cozy couches and a dining table. I cooked many meals in the well equipped kitchen .
The beds were super comfy and I slept well .The location is great 2 blocks to the lagoon where we walked our dog several times a day .
Parking was good and the tenants in the rear unit were friendly

Great location, close enough to the beach and close enough to restaurants and shopping.
Pet friendly the neighbors are extremely friendly. Good parking. If you like to fish bring your poles because it’s very close to the Agua hedionda lagoon.

No where in any of the reviews did anyone mention the commuter train that is literally over the wall of this property. It goes by multiple times an hour all day and most of the night and honks every time it goes by. It was very difficult to sleep. We left early because we weren’t sleeping.

We loved our week stay in Carlsbad. The property is tucked back in a cul-de-sac and was surrounded by trees and greenery. The house was a perfect size with a common area that allowed space to enjoy the sunshine. The kitchen had the basic needs and I really appreciated the extra utensils and plates so I didn't have to run the dishes after every meal. The house does sit right on the train line and since there was a major street crossing, the horn would announce every trip. Eventually, it was just white noise but that first train scared the wits out of us all. The prize of the trip was the kindness and communication of Urban Sands, the owner and management staff. They were a joy to work with. And if in the neighborhood again, we would pick this property. Such a wonderful option to a small hotel room with no amenities.

Communication was outstanding. Easy access, great location to beach. No issues with property or neighbors. Train noise takes getting use to, but none ran on the weekends!! Chloe and company are top rate!!

A very lovely property with all the amenities you would want for a vacation! Check in was easy and our stay was very comfortable! The owner is very clear in their description that trains run next to the house and she was not kidding, but it didn’t ruin our stay at all. The owner checked in frequently and was very responsive whenever I had questions. Again, an overall very enjoyable stay at a lovely property!

Cute ranch style cottage on a cul de sac. Close to beach if you're a walker. Comfortable beds, linens and sofa. Kitchen was stocked as well as most VRBOs. Fine place for a couple of nights. Good communication with manager about a few little things!

Great place for a beach getaway. We are from Carlsbad so we knew how great the location. This is definitely a vacation spot. Views of the lagoon and the ocean just a short walk away! The train is very close but not too bad. It was a little small for our family of four but we still loved it. Would consider staying there again for sure!

We enjoyed our stay at the house. It met our needs to spend time with our son, who is a Marine, and meet our new grandbaby. We planned to cook a few meals for them and the fully stocked kitchen allowed us to do that. The beach is within walking distance. The train coming by was a bit annoying but it came by so fast the annoyance was over quickly. The owner was very accommodating which we appreciated tremendously. If available, we will stay here in the future when coming to visit our son and his family.

Location to the lagoon was amazing! Houses next door are breathtaking.
Downside: The neighbors with the house in the back have to use the gate on your side verse’s having their own private entrance. The curtains are see through so at night people can still see inside. Made it feel uncomfortable. More of an apartment setting verses a house.

Perfect location for our family staycation. We actually enjoyed the trains and the dogs were never bothered by them. Our fur babies loved walking the lagoon and neighborhood and we enjoyed the quick walk to the village for dinners.

We had an amazing time and the house was perfect for us. We spent a week here with our children. The kids loved the pogo sticks and playing in the back yard area when we were not out seeing the sights. The house was complete with everything we needed. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay.

Just spent a relaxing week here. Well equipped cottage at the end of dead end street. The train didn't bother us at all and I am a light sleeper. Everything you need is here. Great walks to Carlsbad and the beach. Hop n the Coaster train to San Diego for cheap. Our dogs loved it too. You do share a yard with the back cottage so you just can't leave the dogs in the yard but it was not a problem. The fan in the living room works off a dimmer switch which could be explained on the welcome sheet along with how to operate the cable tv. Overall a great place

My friend and I shared this property for a week vacation at the beach. Both bedrooms had their own AC which was perfect because she is always cold and I am always hot. The house was very clean, had real comfortable furniture, was stocked with all kitchen necessities and had plenty of towels for showers. The only thing we had to buy was TP after we ran out of what was there. The beach was about three blocks away with parking right there. There are lots of yummy restaurants close by and we even had delivery one night after too many drinks on the beach. We used Uber for the first time and our rides arrived within minutes of us scheduling them. I never heard the train once I went to bed with the AC running. When I did hear the train during the day it was no big deal. The neighborhood is very quiet and we felt perfectly safe there. I definitely recommend this property and will stay again.
