First of all, let me say that where we stayed was a small part of a huge resort. There were 6 different sections of varying levels of importance. There were places where you received gold VIP bands, Blue VIP bands and then regular bands. We were luck to be staying in a place where we received blue VIP bands. The blue bands were pretty good, but you want to aim for the gold bands. To do that, you have to stay in the Villas, Houses, or Presidential Suites. We stayed in the 1 bedroom Residential Suites. Upon arrival, it became apparent that although we were told that they slept 4, they didn't. There was a king bed in the bedroom and a concrete couch in the living room which you couldn't sleep on (you could barely sit on it). In one of our rooms we also had a futon type couch that slept one more person. Then after the first night, we noticed that we didn't have enough sheets. We requested more, several times, and never received them. We then looked in our bar fridge and noticed that there were 2 bottles of water, a Sprite, a Coke, and 2 cans of beer. We knew that we would want more beer and water, so we called the front desk and requested more. We were then told that that was all we got for the day, even though we had paid for all inclusive. There were some days that they didn't restock at all. We ended up having to buy beer and wine from the gift shop and duty free on the resort. We did this because after dinner, we often went back to our room to play cards or just hang out with our friends who travelled with us. We wanted to have a couple of beers or a glass of wine on our patio. The local beer was $4.00 US to purchase and the cheapest wine was $17.00 US. This was our biggest pet peeve. When you pay for all inclusive, you shouldn't have to spend more on what is included. To get around the resort, you can walk or ride the numerous shuttles. It really wasn't a problem for us. However, if your mobility is compromised in any way, do not book at this resort. The stone walkways are very uneven and the steps are all different heights. There were ramps, but not at every set of stairs. It is also quite hilly. The buffet food was decent, but several in our party had the runs during the stay. The restaurants that require reservations were excellent. The beach was nice, although we did notice garbage in the water, but I don't think it was from the resort. Overall, the rooms were clean, but tired. Not 4 star for sure. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
