About this house rental
Upon entering this stylish mountain sanctuary you'll immediately be greeted by the soaring, exposed white pine beams that lend the home its name. Boasting modern furniture and decor (including luxury Casper mattresses in every bedroom), the spacious, well-appointed interior of this designer home is further complemented by the stunning views of the Blue Ridge Mountains it offers and its location within the bustling city of Arden which provides quick access to world-class mountain biking and hiking, award-winning breweries and restaurants in downtown Asheville (20 minutes away), the artists' enclave of the River Arts District (20 minutes away), the majestic Biltmore Estate (15 minutes away), the Blue Ridge Parkway (10 minutes away), and the Asheville Regional Airport (10 minutes away). With an endless supply of seasonally-driven activities happening year-round, you can enjoy skiing, snow tubing, and ice skating at Wolf Ridge Ski Resort just under an hour away during the colder winter months, and enjoy ziplining, whitewater rafting, canoeing, kayaking, and stand-up paddle boarding in the warmer summer months.
While you undoubtedly have plenty of adventures to choose from in the city, you'll also have plenty of opportunities for relaxation and entertainment on-site. Sip wine by one of the gas fireplaces, unwind in the jetted tub, grill up delicious bites outside, play foosball and board games in the downstairs game room, enjoy a movie on one of four big screen 4K smart TVs, read a book or solve one of the many jigsaw puzzles in the sunroom, dance to vinyl spinning on the turntable, play a board game or round of foosball on the Tornado tournament table, run on the treadmill, or get creative in the large crafting room. There are also private workspaces and high-speed internet throughout when you need to take work with you. Ideal for a special occasion with your closest friends or a family reunion, the best part about vacationing at this home is that you can bring your entire family along. Boasting a fenced-in yard, mudroom entrance, and expansive deck, you and your pups will have plenty of room to roam and relax.

Great Gouse in South Asheville for our Family of 9. Plenty of rooms and beds for all of us. Location was perfect for us. Kitchen and Living areas were very nice.

This house is as gorgeous as it looks in the listing! We had a wonderful time and would absolutely stay again. We even brought our dog and he thoroughly enjoyed the fenced yard! The rental company was responsive and we felt very welcome. Thanks for a fabulous time!

Location was well suited, close to airport and 20 mins from DT ashville. The place was beautiful and spacious. It was me and 5 of my other cousins (all middle aged men) and we each had our own bedroom and private space. The house met all expectations.

Our family of eight enjoyed hanging out together on the main level gathering space. Beautiful views and comfortable for all eight adults. We were there to enjoy Christmas Candlelight's at the Biltmore and we also did a little shopping at the Historic Biltmore Village.

The house was great, as expected from the listing. The nice surprise was how nice the neighborhood was. Quiet, beautiful and felt very safe.

We ate every meal outside on the beautiful back deck.

Great property with good bedding and nice amenities. Television access could be better as we could not download any viewing apps and had to mirror from our phones. Improved toiletries would be nice. Overall had a great time. Would stay there again.

White Pine Retreat was a perfect spot for us to gather as a family. We enjoyed the beautifully designed and spacious living spaces … also the large deck. Our main purpose was family time and we also enjoyed visits to the Biltmore, hiking and local breweries. It would be fun to return!

You can’t go wrong with this home. Tons of space, great porch, excellent screened sunroom, phenomenal yard, wonderful location…the list goes on and on. This home is a true gem where lots of wonderful memories can be made. Close to Asheville, Blue Ridge Parkway and many other western North Carolina treasures. I highly recommend this one; can wait to stay there again.

The description was spot on, and the Greybeard rental group was always available when I called. The house itself is gorgeous with lots of entertaining areas.

This was the best stay we've ever booked. The house was better than advertised and the location worked great for us. Very convenient and comfortable. Highly recommended.

We stayed for 4 nights and it was fantastic. No problems. The family and dogs loved it!

This place lived up to the good reviews. Big open area with two fireplaces allowed our whole group to have plenty of space while being together. The teenagers used the downstairs game room, too. We even did crafts in the downstairs bedroom/craft room. It's such a beautiful house, too. The neighborhood is quiet and good for dog walks, but it's also close to Asheville and hiking. Super comfortable. I soaked in the huge master bathroom's tub a couple times. Great place, great stay!

We got to witness the changing seasons last week in this big house with gorgeous views! Although the teenagers barely noticed the world awakening outside, even they enjoyed the board games, foosball, old school wii games, and all the different places to chill away from parents and little kids.
Close to outdoor fun - we got in some hikes and mountain biking and a trip to Brevard. The house worked for us. At first we had an issue with the gas stove in the dining room, but we figured it out. We're also thinking about getting an induction cooktop now. It took a few minutes to understand how to use since induction is new to us but it's crazy how fast we could make pasta. Also, we read a review that made us nervous that there wouldn't be enough mirrors and places to put clothes, but we were relieved that every room has plenty of dressers and mirrors.
No complaints - awesome stay - we'll be back.

Comfy beds, big house, lots to do in the house and nearby. We had a great stay. Tons of room - we could have brought twice as many people and still been fine. Garage had plenty of room for our kayaks. Even had a Vitamix for smoothies and frozen margs. Views from nearly every room. I'll rent again if/when we return to Asheville.

My family and I had a wonderful stay at this beautiful house! Our favorite part was seeing the stunning sunrise above the mountains every morning. The house itself was perfect for us and two other families who we came with. The kids enjoyed playing foosball and video games downstairs, and we made some huge dinners thanks to the fully equipped kitchen. The location was also great — we were a quick drive to downtown, and we also ventured to some nearby breweries that we fell in love with (Sierra Nevada & Whistlehop). We definitely plan to come back!

We're so fortunate that White Pine Retreat was available for our dates.
From the moment our family of 6 (and two dogs) arrived, we felt at home - if our home had an amazing mountain view and beautiful architecture. The home itself had all the amenities we needed for a relaxing getaway.
The interior was clean and well-appointed, with comfortable furnishings and modern touches throughout. I especially appreciated the fully equipped kitchen, which allowed us to cook our own meals and hang out together by the gas fireplaces. The sunroom overlooking the mountains was the perfect spot to enjoy my morning coffee.
The location of the White Pine Retreat was also ideal, since it felt a million miles away but was actually only about ten minutes from Target and multiple grocery stores. We got to the Biltmore Estate, Pisgah, and a few breweries during our stay. Also, with little kids, there is a park called Jake Rusher that's only 5 minutes away and it has bathrooms. That was a hit on our low-key stay.
The coffee maker broke during our stay but we were delivered a new one quickly, so no complaints with the response to service requests.
Overall, I would highly recommend the White Pine Retreat to anyone looking for a peaceful escape with family. We're already planning to return in warmer months - we barely scratched the surface of all the activities here in just one week.

Family gathering for Christmas week. Our cooktop went out on the third day ( Christmas Eve) and stayed out for the rest of our visit. County wide water outage not their fault but for two days we were unable to shower, use kitchen, laundry or flush toilets. Used the YMCA and bought water. Cooked on a hot plate. They refunded me for a small fraction of one days rental fee, unreasonable considering we did not have basic amenities.

The house information found on the Greybeard Rentals stated
Please note: This home is NON smoking. This home IS pet friendly with an additional fee. There are exterior security cameras.
The use of security camera was not part of the lease agreement that the rental company and rental owner to accused me of exceeding "occupancy " and accused me of having a wedding
You used the camera to violate my privacy so you check up on me and family!
If your neighbors had issue with parking, they could have just asked us to move the car.
Rental companies and owners cannot violate my privacy under a pretenous of security!
NEVER RENTING THIS HOUSE OR THIS RENTAL COMPANY.
SHAME ON YOU BOTH!

We had a wonderful experience staying here. Everything was very accommodating and even had a gift bag with necessities & locally made caramel popcorn upon arrival. We had 5 children with us ranging from age 3 to 9 years old. No one wanted to leave!! Hopefully we are able to come back next year. Tons of space and great location!

Besides a lovely view off the back porch the house was nestled in a wonderful neighborhood close to Asheville and all things mountains. There is something for everyone. The house was clean, light and plenty big for our large family. Movie nights are a key component to our time together and the large den worked well. We all slept great and had plenty of space for people to work remotely and rest. Plenty of hiking close by and near the NC Arboretum! I highly recommend and visit there.

Very nice house in a great location. Neighborhood is well kept and safe. House was very clean and had basic kitchen supplies available for use. Great indoor/outdoor flow to the layout. Very happy with this selection. Only negative observation was the bunk beds are very squeaky and noisy to any movement, to the point they would be hard to sleep in. Just seemed to not be at the same level as all the other furnishings. All other beds were great.

Trips into Asheville were easy. Property was very nice. Enjoyed the views from the sun porch.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this house. We had 8 adults celebrating a 50th Birthday. The house was very well stocked with everything you needed. Everything was well organized and very clean. You wake up to a beautiful sunrise with Mountain Views enjoyed from the large deck. Beds were comfortable and furniture was nice. Overall we had a wonderful weekend in Asheville!

Very clean and great scenic view.

I was surprised to learn that the location was so convenient to everything. The name White Pine Retreat gave me the impression that it was wooded and secluded. I was very happy to learn that the road to the home was easy to drive and the home was a close drive to Ashville and to grocery stores, etc. The house was clean and furnished nicely and comfortably. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking. Many areas were conducive to gathering. Enjoyed the deck, the sunroom and the large kitchen. If I had one thing to say that is less than stellar - it was the roku TV. I recognize that most rentals use this now as it is a great cost saver, but it is tough during football season when your favorite teams are playing! Great stay. We definitely recommend. We had a wonderful stay!

House came as advertised. Plenty of space open and clean. Would recommend for others.

Great launching point for Asheville, smokies and everything in the area. Highly recommend.
