A gorgeous setting both inside and out, this luxury home on the shores of Lake Toxaway is a place for taking in the quiet beauty of the North Carolina highlands. In this blissfully tranquil spot, you'll have a small dock at the water's edge, a canoe, a kayak, and life jackets to take out each morning.

This three-story lakefront home is full of understated luxury and style. Begin each day on the ground floor, working out in the well-equipped gym with two TVs, readying the canoe and kayak for a morning paddle, and sipping your coffee on the flagstone patio overlooking the lake.

Moving upstairs, you'll find the main living spaces on the third floor, including an inviting family room with foldable glass doors that open to a covered deck. Adjoining this room is an elegant kitchen with stainless steel appliances, including a French-door refrigerator and a gas stove. There's also a farm sink and a large island with bar seating. There's also a formal dining room and plentiful outdoor seating for evening barbecues prepared on the Big Green Egg.

There are two top-floor bedrooms- one lakefront room with an en suite bathroom and direct deck access and another with an en suite bathroom and a connected study that serves as a fantastic work-from-home space with a computer, copier, and printer. The second-floor bunk room offers a lake-facing play area for the kids.

Things to Know
Please be aware that there is ongoing construction on the adjacent lot, and there may be construction noise during daytime hours.
Lake Toxaway is a private body of water that does not allow power boats.
This property is managed by Vacasa North Carolina, LLC.

Cleaning not top notch. Mostly very clean except windows and covered patio. The most concerning was that that the garbage was piled high in every garbage bin!!!!!!! No garbage from garage had been emptied. Trash sack piled high, No room for our trash. A photo was taken and sent. Quick reply stating the problem was noted. All else fantastic

I loved that the house was big enough for our family, but the cleanliness and safety lacked big time! Hair on the beds and showers, trash on the floor, trash in the bins from previous tenants. Stained linens and bed sheets with blood.

This is a beautiful home and well decorated. We were very comfortable and enjoyed out stay very much. Such a nice property and home. However there were so minor shortcomings I would not expect a home of this quality and value to have. 1. No information folder or binder of the property and local area; place to see, things to do, places to eat out. 2.There were 30-35 trash bags in the garage. They had been there awhile, because it smelled. 3. Handle in guest shower was not attached and came off. Left on the counter. 4. White chair on the patio was broken. 5. The candles (3) on the upper deck were burned out and unusable. 6. The front porch and upper deck needed to be blown off. Lot of debris and trash. I removed the trash.

some basic things I thought the property could improve on: fireplace (even fake gas logs would be nice) firepit on back patio king beds in both upstairs bedrooms large tv over the fireplace I figure the owner knows this and its his/her personal preferences, but most renters would appreciate these small upgrades. it is a nice house with outstanding view and we enjoyed our stay!

We enjoyed our stay at the home. Checkout the CDs for the Bose player in the study. Definitely an unexpected treat. The boys even danced to the classical music!

My family spent a week here and we loved it. The home is beautiful inside and out. Everyone enjoyed paddling on the lake, hiking the nearby trails, and hanging out on the patio. We honestly did not want to leave and we look forward to returning someday!

House and amenities were as promised or better. Plenty of space for conversation and relaxation. House is suitable for couples or a family with kids. Third bedroom has only bunk beds so not ideal for adults but a minor issue. Instructions are needed to operate TVs and remotes as we were unable to use. Nevertheless, a great overall house with relaxing water and mountain views. Will visit again.

We enjoyed a wonderful week at Casa de Yayo. The home is beautifully decorated and has ample space to relax. The porch has a stunning view of the lake and was a favorite place to enjoy coffee and cocktails. The 2 bedrooms on the main floor were large and comfortable. There is a queen in the master (with a huge bathroom!) and a full in the guest room. The bunk room below provides great additional sleeping space if needed, but has 6 twin beds, which might not be ideal for couples. It worked beautifully for our crew and we loved being in such a lovely home! We will be back! Also tucked into a very quiet area on the lake.

This house is incredible! It was like staying in a friend's vacation home, not a rental. It was spotless, well-stocked, and beautiful. Truly luxurious finishes and decor and a quiet, stunning view. We had two families with 4 kids (ages 2-6). We had plenty of space for meals and various sleeping arrangements for young children. The porch and full-length accordion door made for the most amazing afternoons on the porch. Cashiers is a quick, easy trip, a few restaurants are close by, and take out from the Greystone made for nice breaks.

What a beautiful setting on the lake! We had a long weekend with the kids and had a fantastic stay here- plenty for the kids to do, and a great setting for all of us to relax. We would certainly stay here again!

Amazing home, amazing view, amazing family time! Couldn’t have asked for a better house/location. The home is perfect. We have a toddler & infant and the house accommodated both very well! We love Lake Toxaway and fell even more in love with it during our stay! We can’t wait to visit again!

This home in Lake Toxaway NC, on Cardinal Lake is nothing short of perfect for a family get away, or anything else I could possibly imagine. The home itself, the furnishings, the amenities, the views, canoe and kayak, all combined for the most wonderful week. A plus is the dark sky for star gazing!

The property and home are outstanding. The views and surroundings are terrific. My wife and I travel often and have utilized VRBO properties across the county. This property is among the best, however, the only negatives include no king size bed in any bedroom, limited TV's, and limited instructions for the electronics in the home. I other quality homes we have experienced a detailed book of instructions for all appliances, electronics, and locations of controllers, etc. We would recommend something similar for this exceptional home.

Just returned from Casa de Yayo and can’t say enough about it! Plenty of room for a family of 6. The kids had a blast. Great location close to Sapphire & Cashiers. The house was immaculate, but nothing compared to the lake view! Can’t wait to book our next stay.
