About this apartment rental
This three story building is located in a quiet, safe area of West End. West End is a charming, funky beach town that is a great mix of islanders, expats, and people on vacation.
There are more than 30 restaurants, dive shops, gift shops, bars, and beaches just a short walk away from the property.
The beautiful Half Moon Bay beach and "world famous" Sundowners Bar are just a 3 minute walk away. West Bay Beach , which is the best beach on the island and one of the best in the Caribbean, is a 10 minute water taxi ride away.
Each floor is home to two large apartments. This is the second floor ocean facing aparment. It is a great unit with water views. The fully stocked kitchen has tons of counter space. The living area has all new furniture and a flat screen TV with cable. There is AC in the bedroom and a fantastic breeze that blows through the unit.
The bedroom has a queen bed with comfortable mattress, a large closet, air conditioning, and ensuite bathroom. We do have a spare twin bed that can be put in the living area. The apartment comes with everything you will need whether you are here for a week or a month. There is also a shared washer and dryer.
There is also a balcony with a love seat, chair, and table.
It does not include electricity.
Electricity is quite expensive on Roatan. So Instead of charging fees for laundry, A/C, and so forth, it is easier and fairer to charge to for electricity instead. We read the meter at check-in and check-out, subtract the allowance, and use the previous month's bill to determine the charge per kilowatt hour. This amount is deducted from your security deposit.
We found that including electricity in the price made people want to get their money's worth by leaving the A/Cs constantly on at full blast and every light in the place on. Not only is it eco unfriendly, it meant we had to tack on an extra $250 / week to the rental rate.
Assuming there are 2 people in the condo and you turn the lights off when not in use but do use the AC in the bedroom at night, the electricity should be about $3 - $10/ night. The average bill without using the AC is about $50 / month.
The internet is unlimited high speed.
