Super lindo, cómodo y moderno
Lo único es que no cuenta con ascensor, para quienes no pueden subir escaleras (no fue nuestro caso)

Brand new hotel, very clean and comfortable. The walk to shirakawa was pretty
There is not much going on in the surrounding areas and we couldn’t even find a vending machine. Hotel was bit pricey.

- The property is new, clean and comfy.
- The room and bed are quite big with some space for big luggages (although 2 pax in).
- Also like about power outlets which are quite a few more than typical hotel/ resort in Japan. There are USB and USB-C ports as well as normal outlets.
- PJ provided 😍
- The welcome matcha cream crackers were very nice.
1. The property is easy to access on foot (almost 2km) to Shirakawa-go village, but in winter might be a but difficult to drag a luggage around.
2. Car park isn’t that friendly due to a big pile of snow almost half of the place. Luckily, I changed my plan not to drive. Instead, had to drag my 26 inches luggage from and to the bus station.

Easy self check in with door codes. Clean and adequate facilities. Friendly, helpful communication from staff. Good location from Ogimachi village, shuttle bus available and can even walk there (1km).
Massively overpriced, extremely poor value for the amount it cost us. This was the most expensive and yet most disappointing stay of our entire Japan trip. People using the microwave and doors very early and very late with sounds from other guests easily heard from our room. Quite drafty windows.

A little far from the station, especially when you have a very large suitcase to carry, but otherwise the hotel is magnificent and offers many services. It was also very clean and the room was really huge and luxurious! I advise!

Habitación y baño amplios. En buenas condiciones y limpio
Alejado del centro. No hay máquinas de café ni desayuno aunque dejan tè y dos galletas.El precio es algo elevado para lo que es.Tampoco te recibe nadie durante toda la estancia.

Clean, tidy and modern
Self check-in worked well (able to check in early)
Great shower
Comfy beds
High price considering the walking distance from Ogimachi (Shirakawa Go's preserved village)

Very clean, minimalist approach, nothing to complain for room. No Staff - but very helpful.owner who manages everything online and replies very prompt and is helpful.
Place is not what photos on booking site promise. I expected something quite different.
It's a standalone building, built like a dorm.
Location not too close to main area - about 1.5km by walk.

The property is very clean and comfortable.
Although there is no staff at hotel, they replied message quite quickly. And all information needed were provided ahead.
Only it is a bit far from bus station and heritage site.

A serene location with the house filled with the aroma of Japanese cypress (hinoki wood).
4.5
Modern facilities. Nice staff.
To have a TV will be nice. A place to hang wet towels will be nice.

Really clean and modern rooms with self-checkin. Great for a couple of nights stay.
Also staff was very responsive via online chat, appreciated the prompt attention.
Not many facilities (eg couches, some shared spaces or lobby). Relevant in Shirakawa since most places shut at 5pm so you need to go and sit on your bed for the rest of the time.

Check-in was fully remote, like a BnB (they send you the door codes). The manager/owner messaged me updates on time and responded to messages via Booking.com immediately.
I had the option to hold my luggage at the nearby Guesthouse KEI, but I missed the early bus so it wasn't necessary.
The facility itself is very modern for its location (fixtures, design, lighting, locks). Amenities were all available. Hot water worked well.
I only stayed for one night, but just to note that there is a caretaker that checked in the morning to see if I was out so that they could clean the room.
About 15 minutes walk to the bus station. 30 minutes walk to the heritage site.
The only thing I can mention, is that there was a knocking or sometimes a water pouring noise sporadically outside. Sometimes loud sometimes not; luckily I slept through it. It's likely something to do with the water drainage, since it was raining quite a bit that evening.

Nice and spacious room, comfortable beds, effective AC and great location.
The room where clean, and checkin was very easy since we received the code for the building and our room in advance. This was especially nice since we arrived so late in the afternoon.

We loved our stay at Curio Shirakawago, and would definitely stay there again. The beds were so comfortable, and the room was nice and spacious. The bathroom was clean and spacious too. The air conditioning worked well. The owner met us on arrival and helped carry our bags up one floor to our rooms, he was really friendly and made us feel very welcome. He spoke good English. The snow had been cleared from the entrance. Plenty of car parking space. The Convenience Store is a short walk down the road. The Gusso historic village is about a 15-20 minute walk from the accommodation, or a couple of minutes drive.
Its a bit of a walk to the Village, if it was really snowy it could be hard work, but we had a car so it wasn't an issue.

poor WiFi and rare hot water in sink

This hotel is very clean and modern and it’s a lot closer to Shirakawago heritage site. However during our stay there were no staff seen. Also it was raining and snowing the driveway was not cleaned. About few inches of snow there. We travel from overseas with heavy luggage and it was very difficult to bring them to the lodge dragging over snow. Also we were given a upstair room and no lift or extra staff help. Need to carry the luggages to upstairs. If you fit and healthy it’s not a problem. But if you need an extra hand not a good place to stay. Locals or people who drive to the place, this is a great.
Overall very modern clean place with some issues with facility as highlighted .Hope they improve it.

staff was nice and fast response
room wasn’t clean enough, had some hair strands left on bed sheets like someone just used it..
no bath tub and too far away from the bust stop and in the middle of nowhere .. hope they serve food but nothing.. my fault that I didn’t check enough before booking..

It was easy to find and it was easy to enter the property (even though it's unmanned). The room was very clean, modern and comfortable!
It's a little far from the main site seeing spots, but not too far that it's not worth staying there.
1.5
security
not close to main houses. no soap in bathroom. only one trash can. very hard beds.
3.5
The room is very clean, comfortable, and spacious with nice shower facilities and a good heater. The staff was also very kind and helpful and gave me a ride into town in the morning. Location is good too (though be warned the the location on Apple Maps is incorrect. This place is actually right next to Shirakawago Guest House Kei).
The WiFi connection was very bad, constantly cutting in and out. Also this place is very pricey compared to other options in the same area.
