About this apartment rental
Attractive upstairs apartment, in beach-side house with communal patio, leading directly onto one of the quietest and most beautiful beaches on the West Coast, with excellent swimming and snorkelling in the crystal waters of the Caribbean. Comprising 2 air-conditioned bedrooms, one with en-suite bathroom, the other with en-suite shower room and washing machine. There is a well-equipped modern kitchen for the chefs among your party. The lovely light sitting room, with stunning views of the Caribbean and the beach, has a cooling breeze blowing through it for most of the year. In essence perfection.
The village shopping centre and supermarket are within easy reach on foot. There are several excellent restaurants nearby, including the world-renowned Cliff. We are 1.5 km away from Sandy Lane and its world-class golf facilities. Waters sports, fishing, and glass-bottomed boats are virtually on the doorstep - and, if requested, many will pick you up from the beach.. For those who don’t wish to hire a car the bus stop is nearby, and the buses run frequently up until 11.30 pm. The apartment has Wifi internet access and on site security.
Little Reef is well situated for multiple activities. From the very beautiful beach, a few short steps away, there is snorkelling on the reef, where you may spot one of the resident turtles, meandering among shoals of brightly coloured fish. Boating and water sport activities are also on offer from operators on the way to the big resorts past Sandy Lane. Fishermen bring their daily catch into Fitts Village, just in front of Jordan's Supermarket, a five-minute walk along the beach.
For those who don’t want to miss the exploits of their favourite team, Wendy’s sports bar is just a couple of minutes away, across the road. Wendy's also have a snack bar. Alternatively there’s the Surfside bar in Holetown (15 minutes away by bus and car), a great spot for being on the beach and watching the footie at the same time. Holetown is also the place to go to if you want a bank, pizza or the larger Massy’s supermarket, which will deliver your shopping if you don't have a car. Holetown also boasts plenty of watering holes and restaurants. Bridgetown and the South Coast are around twenty minutes by car and the buses run regularly.
If you just want to chill out Little Reef’s balcony is a great place for watching the frigate birds wheeling above, maybe a fisherman making a catch, and world go by – and, if you are up early and very, very, lucky you may get a glimpse of a monkey in the nearby shack-shack tree. If you want take a tan back home Little Reef has a lovely sunny patio, or you can take the extra few steps to the beach. At the end of the day there is often nothing better than a walk along the beach or just watching a beautiful sunset and the boats making for home, while you enjoy a sundowner.

Beautiful apartment right on the beach, gorgeous sunsets and ocean views. Crystal clear water, restaurants and grocery stores easy walking distance away and public buses run regularly right outside the gate. A hidden little gem.

The property is in need of repairs very badly.
There were roaches in the bathroom and kitchen.
An AC unit would be a great addition in the Living room. It was hot so you have to leave the bedroom doors open to cool the appartment.
The Iron work is rusted.....
The unit need a complete refresh!

You could never get tired of going to bed to the sound of the waves and waking up and sipping coffee on the balcony with this stunning view.
Great location with a walkable market and bar just steps away.
Place is equipped with everything you need from blender to coolers and ice packs.
Rooms are very spacious with own bathroom for each room. Lots of closet space.
Hanging rack for wet clothes, sun loungers for the deck.
Rooms have AC that works very well and can cool down the main area a bit if you leave bedroom doors open.
We had everything we needed and more.
Grantley (neighbor) was amazing and helpful.
Richard was always quick to respond to any questions we had.
Some issues with the hot water at times, but nothing too bad.
Would definitely stay here again!!!!

This is not our first time in this property or in Barbados.
The island is always welcoming.
The property is actually better this time around.
The staff is amazing.
We will be back.

Very nice little suite right on the ocean! We enjoyed our stay very much! Suite is exactly as described :) :)

Loved our stay! Grantley, the caretaker lives next door - lovely man and very helpful. Already booked to come back next year!!

What makes Little Reef is the incredible view. It really is wonderful looking out over the sea every breakfast and some sunsets.
I would say the property is more tired and worn that the pictures show, and would benefit from some TLC and a deep clean (particularly in the 2nd bedroom). The aircon in the bedrooms was greatly appreciated and the washing machine was very handy.
Little Reef was a bit further away from things than anticipated (my fault from not researching on google maps more extensively). There are a couple of overpriced (and not very good food wise) restaurants/bars within close walking distance, and one overpriced supermarket. We ended up hiring a car on our 2nd day and that made a world of difference. We tried out different beaches each day - Dover Beach, Holetown, Alleyene's Beach, Bottom Bay & Bathsheba day. It allowed us to visit lots of great beach bars and restaurants in the evening, and access to the far better Massey supermarket in Holetown.
Communication with Richard was rapid and clear. Grantley was very friendly.
Overall, I would definitely recommend the property if you are wanting a chilled holiday, but would recommend a car if you're wanting to go further out.

We had a booking cancelled and needed accommodation nearby quickly. Richard responded quickly and we had a lovely week in upper little reef.

This is our second stay at little reef.. absolutely love the place. Perfect size. Has everything you need. Amazing views, amazing snorkelling. Perfect location.
Host is great in communicating and we look forward to coming again..

The property has a superb view. It is perched just above the ocean waves and the balcony enjoys the shade of a lovely tree with interesting birds. There is beautiful, quiet sandy beach to the left of the property that we swam at every day. Security is very good.

We had a fabulous time in Barbados. The apartment was right on the water on a quiet beach. I recommend happy hour at Bikini Beach Bar and Friday night karaoke at Wendy’s. We will be back!

Our stay was great!! Grantly was awesome in making sure we were ok. Some stuff could be updated like having a television or some kind of radio to help entertain, when the weather doesn’t allow for outdoors.

Chilled 10 days at little reef. Glorious views. Nice area. Just bliss to step into the water in the morning. Bbq at night watching sunsets.

Centrally located and pure bliss. Wouldn't change a thing. The real highlight being the Bajan people who were so welcoming and accommodating and especially the wonderful people at Sherrie's Turtle Bottom Bar on Risk Road on the way to Wendy's. A hidden gem and must visit location on your visit to Barbados. Wednesday night Karaoke is a blast. Definitely will be returning.

Comfortable and tastefully decorated apartment with excellent view of the Caribbean sea. Great location. Suited us perfectly. Great coral reef for snorkeling. Would highly recommend it. Had a wonderful time.

We loved out stay at Upper Little Reef. The view is absolutely amazing. I loved waking up and sitting on the little day bed, sipping my coffee and watch the dawn.
At low tide the beach walking is fantastic. And the snorkeling right out front a real treat.
The location was great, walking distance to some really great restaurants and just a short bit to Holetown and the Marine Park, Paynes Bay fish market and Holders Hill farmers market.
We also really liked that there the lighting was very good for reading.
The property management and the owner were very responsive to any little ask.
My husband and I stayed for four weeks. At various times we were visited by our adult sons and at another time, another couple. It was all great.
We hope to stay here again.

The location was outstanding! Beach access was awesome! Great swimming and snorkeling. Very convenient walk to store and a couple of restaurants.

After staying in Fitts village for many years this was our first time at this property and it didn’t disappoint. We were delighted with the location, the amazing views and the apartment itself. It had everything we needed and Grantley next door was on hand if we needed anything at all.. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be back next year..!

The true selling point for this property is two-fold: 1) the view -- it was just beautiful to have views of the ocean and the sunsets 2) just steps to go right into the ocean -- warm, clear and tranquil for the majority of the time (with the exception of a storm that came through).
The property was a little worn, so not high end luxury but everything was more than fine. Again the view was just so fantastic. There is air-conditioning in the bedroom (absolutely a must) but not in the main living area.
Fits Village is very quiet with not a lot of things in walking distance (there is a grocery within walking distance). The house is on the main bus line and the buses are easy to use and there is a lot within 20 minutes. We didn't have a car for our month stay and only needed a taxi once or twice. If you're looking or a relaxing place and great value this is it. If you're looking to be where the action is...well, you can get there by bus but there is not much within walking distance.

Enjoyed our stay at Little Reef completely. Relaxing and peaceful with amazing sea views from the balcony.

This location was awesome the view was breathtaking. I would definitely put this on my list to stay again. It was like having my own private beach. Thank you

Easy renting experience. It rained a few days during our stay. We were lucky to have the beautiful bi,-fold sliding doors to look out over the ocean. Very clean unit. Right on the beach and bus route. Within walking distance to a small grocery store and a few good restaurants. Road noise during peak times. All in all we loved the property.

Beautiful view in a convenient location!
You can’t beat the view of the ocean from this property! Very comfortable and convenient to the West Coast and other locations. Beach access a great plus.

Wonderful View
Loved our stay at Little Reef. First time to Barbados, but probably not our last.
Apartment was great, just as the images portray and as everyone says….the sunsets are stunning!! Richard was great to deal with and Grantley who maintains the property and Esther were extremely friendly and helpful and we intend to maintain contact with them!!
Bus stop outside is very handy (7 BBD) for two people anywhere up and down the west coast and nearest supermarket (Jordans) about a 15 minute walk away.
As everyone says, the road the apartment sits on is very busy, but to be honest, this didn’t concern us one bit.
Great apartment, thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and very friendly locals!

Excellent stay and the view can’t be beat!
The property was clean upon arrival. The first thing I noticed walking in was some great huge windows. They completely open out to the ocean. Wow what a view! I loved hearing and seeing the ocean all day.
We loved walking along the beach. It was adventurous at times if the tide was high., but still fun. If you like snorkeling, just swim out straight from the house and then to your right. It was outstanding!
We ran into an issue with our departure date. The owner was quick to reply, and came to our rescue. We can’t say enough good about him.
We highly recommend this place and look forward to coming back!

Fabulous location and stunning sunsets
We loved our stay in Little Reef apartment (upstairs). The sunsets from our lounge where amazing and the fold back doors worked well. Bed in the main bedroom was very comfortable and the air con worked very well. We used the local Reggae bus which stopped outside for travelling along the west coast and it was a great experience, loved it. We also used the shared patio for sunbathing.
The apartment is quite basic but this is very obvious in the photos and previous reviews so not a shock. Only a few minor points:
- no welcome pack which was detailed in the information, not sure if this is due to covid.
- apartment smelt quite musty, especially the 2nd bedroom and en-suite which we didn’t use. I think it was from the washing machine in the 2nd en-suite bathroom
- there isn’t a beach outside the apartment when we where there and we entered the sea via steps. the sea was quite rough on the steps when accessing the sea. Maybe the sea was just a bit rough when we where there in January.
- it’s a 10 min walk along the road to access a local sandy beach in Fitts village as we couldn’t walk along the shore. We tended to get the Reggae bus (10 mins) to the beach in Holetown which was fabulous.

Wonderful stay
Absolutely incredible stay! The apartment is lovely in good condition. Grantley was very helpful and able to take in a parcel for us of some things we forgot. The view was amazing and the apartment was just a few steps from the beach.

Our overall experience was wonderful. Traveling during Covid was a bit stressful however, but had a great vacation. The apartment was quaint and had everything we needed for a ten day stay. The check in process was easy once we arrived and settled in quite nicely. Fitts Village is a small and relatively quiet town with a market within walking distance. There is a fantastic local fish market in Paynes Bay that we walked to and picked up fresh fish almost daily.. If we ever decide to go back to Barbados we will surely be in touch with this host.

Awesome location
Everything was very easy from booking to access. The flats location is outstanding. The sunsets were amazing. We had many rums just watching the sun go down.
The supermarket was great and well stocked. Loved our stay.

We stayed for the views - amazing and dreamy. The amenities are dated (kitchen supplies) and the cleaning was ok, but we would stay again. Good wifi, perfect for remote work. Thanks Richard and Paula!

Watched the sunset every night from the balcony - couldn’t get any closer to the sea. Would def stay here again, owners very helpful. On a main bus route and close to a basic supermarket . Could sometimes be a little noisy from the traffic, but worth it for the views. A little bit worn but clean . Would recommend this apartment and the side of the island it’s on. Go for it !

Because of the Covid-19 panic, we had to postpone our visit to Little Reef for one year. Even then, the ever-changing decrees of the Barbados government made it difficult to travel to the island. Richard was very accommodating and flexible, and we finally arrived for our two-week holiday.
The photographs show exactly what the apartment is like: it is directly on the Caribbean Sea. We could hear the surf every day, and we could swim and snorkel right in front of the house.
The people of Barbados are exceptionally friendly. Normally, if a stranger approaches you, they want to sell you something; not true in Barbados. They simply want to say hello and ask if you are enjoying your holiday. Everyone smiles and is quick with an “Alright.”
We could walk a couple blocks inland and, if we were lucky, see a troop of Green monkeys. (We also saw monkeys at Batts Rock Beach, just a short drive away.) A local fellow named George arranged for us to swim with the turtles in Holetown.
Wendy’s Bar is a short walk up the street, where you can get homemade fast-food, plus four beers for BBD$ 10.50. A little farther way is Il Tempio Italian Restaurant, which serves delicious island meals. (We recommend the Tomato Soup.) Jordans’ grocery store is within walking distance, but there is a much larger grocery store in Holetown, about five minutes’ drive north.
The location is great if you like to get away from it all. Even though it’s in “Fitts Village”, there isn’t really much of a village (in terms of shops and things to do). But instead, you end up living like a Bajan.
The apartment itself is not upscale, but it is comfortable. Richard was very quick to accommodate any minor issues (ex. a light went out in the kitchen). There is a washing machine and a line to dry clothes.
Overall, we loved our stay in Little Reef! Thank you again, Richard, for your hospitality!
