Feels like a breath of fresh air

The property was bright and welcoming and the owners were lovely. It has a European/Scandi feel, more so than any of the other b&bs we’ve visited in Ireland. We really appreciated the breakfast being a bit lighter than the full Irish that we had everywhere else.

Good location but wont stay due to poor customer experience overall. Mandatory €100 cash deposit??

Location was good as it was near Youghal for the Ironman. Breakfast wasnt included but the host did leave some porridge and teas for us. The beds were good and the room itself was big.

I really didnt like having to give a €100 deposit(I dont know what this is for nor was it explained) When we went to check out we had to wait for an hour for the lady to come back with this deposit which directly took time out from our stay. Also, checkin is at 17.30. This should not be allowed as we are paying well for the room. It felt like staying in someones house rather than staying at a €210 a night guesthouse.

When we were going home again.

The attitude of the Lady owner. When asked for a bath towel she replied with, " but didn't you get 1 yesterday " which left me very embarrassed and angry as the man that asked for it was their as my guest. It was me that she had given the towel to the previous day. There was no lights working in both rooms and we all had to use the torch of our phones when in the bathroom to get a shower, clean our teeth and go to the toilet. There was even blood on the sink in the upstairs bathroom that I was staying in were it looks like someone had cut themselves shaving and it had run off the razor when it was sitting on top of the sink. There were no radiators in the upstairs room which left it a very cold stay.

Very friendly hosts. And very accommodating. Helped us with everything we needed and recommendations for breakfast the next morning We booked 2 rooms and both were lovely. The shower was one of the best power showers I've had.

Very good value for money and we were even offered help to the destination as we were lost and late

We didn't have a breakfast but the hospitality shown by the owners was excellent { the cake was delicious }

The room was pleasant, but lacked some necessities.

The room was pleasant, clean and comfortable. The surrounding garden was lovely and well kept.

We did not want a big breakfast, so in several of the places where we stayed we bought food to eat in our room. But there were no plates or dishes, knives or spoons here. However, when we asked for some, they were immediately provided, and the hosts were very keen that we should ask for anything else that we needed. We thought that the hosts meant well, but it was almost impossible to wash and clean the crockery and cutlery without a bowl in which to put them in, and some washing up liquid. This had been provided at other places. Our hosts had only started their BandB last September, so we feel that some advice would be very helpful to them. The use of a fridge would also have been helpful too. We wish them well in the future.

maybe there could have been some more tea/ coffee choice, and the offer of a breakfast for that price? maybe nicer smellies in the bathroom?

A beautiful location. Warm hosts. A combination of a laid back attitude with attention to detail made for a relaxing time. Breakfast was yummy! The family pets are adorable, friendly and curious. Thanks!

Disappointing- would not recommend.

The bed was comfy.

Host let me in but then wasn't seen again for the rest of my stay so couldnt ask about absence of breakfast or milk for hot drinks. No breakfast provided. Tea bags provided but no milk. Room smelt damp. Shower was lukewarm at all times. Hot tap was very loose and spun around in the sink, seemed like it would break soon. Heated towel rail inside shower unit seemed dangerous. ‘Garden’ view was mostly car park and a view of a damp wall. Floor was dusty, the lino flooring made it feel very institutional.

A little gem in the heart of the Irish countryside! The hosts are so lovely, and welcomed us and our four legged friend with open arms. Would recommend to anybody thinking of staying in the area!
